Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

Not clearance, but I just snagged Persona 3 today (since it's kinda hard to find). I was thinking of grabbing another one to put on ye'bay, but if a fellow CAGer wants it, I'll see if I can hook it up.
 
Is the 3 month XBOX 360 live card that comes with the 10 dollar off coupon on sale or is it only the 12 month one? The 3 month one is not listed on the first post

Even if the back room is a gold mine most of the stuff probably isn't in the system anymore, and you can't just make up prices and give yourself items, Kmart REALLY frowns upon any price changes done by employees even if its 20 cents off for a customer.

From what I hear if there is stuff in the back room it gets sent to stores that are closing to be sold at those stores under the scammy liquidator, which means it is likely marked its original sale price and the percents off are taken by the liquidator, which for electronics could result in some grossly overpriced items.[/quote]

While all of this is true, I'm wondering where all the extra stuff went to that another CAG told me they ended up having the one clerk in electronics bring out from the back. There were tons of older PS2/Xbox titles and now at that store, there's maybe 1-3 older Xbox games and close to zero PS2 games besides the licensed movie crap. As for current gen, there also used to be tons of 360 games that were on clearance, but unless they actually did re-mark them to what they were supposed to be and they SOLD, they probably got shoved in the back too.

They did re-organize my local Kmarts game cases recently, but at the same time it appears they cleaned them out too. I doubt all of those older games which were in the clearance bin sold, since most were mismarked, even though they were out in the bin and marked clearance.
 
It amazes me how Kmart keeps old ass inventory for sooooo long and other stores like Target prefer to get rid of their stuff after a few months to a year (hence Target clearancing items constantly). I always thought it was bad business practice to hold onto items for years (too much inventory) as that ties up your money investment and wastes so much floor space.

But, the thing is, it's not so much that Kmart intentionally keeps the old stock for that long. It's that when newer and newer games come out and there's nowhere to put them in the case, to them it makes more sense to put the stuff in the back and only bring it out if people ASK for it.

But, as we know with many things, if people don't see it, they may just assume that a store doesn't have it and walk out without asking. Plus, we also know how long it takes to find a clerk at many of these stores to ask ONE question, so imagine what the reaction would be if you asked them to go into the back and 'see if they have any other games sitting back there'.
 
sears is gonna be bought up by a better company in 2008. they treat their customers as well as employees like crap.

KMart bought Sears and merged with them back in 2004, which is why the company is no longer Sears, Roebuck, and Company. Officially, they are the Sears Holding Corporation.
 
I picked up Stars Wars: KOTOR for $5.97 and a mega man collections (Mega Man 1-8) for ps2 for $9.97 yesterday. It's about time I've been able to find KOTOR...

The 360 version was actually decently reviewed. It got mostly 6's and 7's. Like a lot of licensed games, your enjoyment level will probably increase greatly if you actually are a fan of the license. You might be more willing to overlook some flaws, in that particular case.
 
The Sears Febuary Clearence has started! Can anyone post a complete list? My finds are listed below. 1 highlight was DDR Ultramix 4 xbox Bundle for $11.97 ! So glad the $54.99 sticker scared everyone away, I'm glad I had that price checked! :) Lots of ds, psp, and gba, ps2 & xbox games were marked down! Damn, I might have to see if my store has added anything to the clearance bin. It's been the same pile of crap for the last 6 months with a few buried gems.

I'm a little confused - is Sears raising prices on some game titles? My local Sears had for the Xbox 360 the Cars game - which is now has a current price of $0.00 and old posted price of $19.97. I took it to the counter and it still rang up for $19.99. I also picked up DDR Universe Bundle - which is supposed to be $43.97 - rang up as $59.99. Listed price on the package was $69.99. Really weird. I didn't want to make a scene and turn down the items, so I'll just return them later on in the week. Really weird to see a price increase instead of the stated sale prices.
 
I think the last time I went to Sears I think they thought I was going to try and take a pile of games. From what I can tell they only have one price scanner on the lower floor for 3 departments (electronics, appliances, and hardware). Since they're so weird with their pricing and I'd rather not bother/can't find the associate so I check the games I'm interested in myself.

Well the last time as I was taking the stack of about 10 games back to the electronics dept I saw someone from electrics standing there with a clipboard watching me. That was the same day I discovered that FF IV and DKC 3 for the GBA ring up $0.00.

Here's hoping this is the month that those black label copies of KH II finally drop below $19.99.

They could be. I just want one to add to my collection (like most on here I hate having GH titles in my collection). I beat the game last year, sold it when I sold my PS2, and now I'd like to have it back because it was such an awesome game.

get ur facts straight. sears bought kmart. i cant stand when people say kmart bought sears.

kmart was going out of business then sears bought them and made sears holdings which basically is a bunch of sears stores and kmart. but like i said sears is taking down the trip of their smaller shitter company, sears is the new kmart.

shitty prices and crappy products lead to failer. its not compitition that are putting them out of business... its because they are cheap basterds which arent willing to put the money in the company to make it better

LOL...the previous two posters already beat me to me. If you're going to criticize me, at least make sure you're right and I'm wrong.

KMart WAS in financial trouble, but filed for bankruptcy, closed a bunch of stores, fired a lot of people, and were able to come out of bankruptcy. Then, they became the KMart Holdings Corporation. They merged with Sears, and because Sears was the bigger brand name, they changed to the Sears Holdings Corporation.
 
Supposedly there is going to be a sears opening up less than a mile away from me. ShopRite opened in town and it's causing the only A&P within a 5 mile radius to go out of business... Hopefully I can catch onto some of these deals=/.
 
lol, what a dip i am. but really thats what ive been told in the training vids. i guess sears holdings wants the sears employees to think sears is the major company....

btw now this makes soo much more sense. sears had to take over kmarts crappy approach and thats why their customer service has failed since this merge.

stupid sears either way.. and stupid me for not double checking facts, yet again like i said i was told this when i started there a year ago

OMG, I must see if any of my sears has a price scanner/checker - that would make everything so much easier, Now if only sears would get rid of there stupid glass game cases and put even more games on the floor.

I do not mind Sears putting the games behind the glass cases in fact I think it helps in finding deals. Whenever the employees put the games out on the floor they sell fast.

I think the only reason they don't put more games out on the floor and out of those cases is because they're afraid that people will walk off with half of the game section. I've seen it before, the usual 2-3 opened cases with missing discs at Kmart, Target and really any store with a lot of their games out on the floor and not locked away behind those cases.

Yep. At my Sears in the crap pile they call the clearance bin there's a handful of empty game cases sitting in there. Someone opened and stole a copy of Ultimate Ghosts n' Goblins and Darkstalkers (c'mon people you can't afford $7 for this one!). I think someone tore into some of the Xbox and DS games as well.

Picked up Star Trek Legacy for a few bucks. The shrink wrap was gone, but the security stickers were still there and seemed untampered with. Good game, if you can find it and like Star Trek. Feel bad for anyone who paid full price, though.
