Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

Hrmm...I don't see anything about not matching their OWN clearance prices, just competitors' clearances.

I was in a local Sears last week and they had GC systems on a shelf with a shelf tag of $49.99

Like I said, it'll vary by store. I think the difference is that the item isn't going 'on sale', rather, it is a dropped clearance price, and due to the nature of clearance prices doing nothing but drop... *shrug*

The likely won't. One Sears had a game for $14.97 but was OOS, another Sears had it for $33.97. I bought it at the $33.97 store, took it to the $14.97 store, asked for a price match. I was refused saying they will not match or adjust clearance prices. I talked to 2 managers and both refused despite the first store telling me they would match the price.

The problem is if this is a clearance price, or an across the board price reduction. If it is a clearance, I'm not sure if a store will drop the price if there is no stock, no reason to clearance something that's not in stock.

The price change is scheduled for a a specific date, which is a Saturday. This makes me wonder what kind of drop it is:whistle2:k

If it is a price drop/sale done at all stores, then I see no reason why a PM wouldn't work.

Anyway, I can afford to spend the $50-$100 for a chance at the $19 :gc:
 
I bought the Gamecube last week and just returned it since I paid $50 and I never have luck pricematching clearance.

I did score Persona 3 for retail and a Platinum Gamecube controller ($2.97!)

The worker was so distraught trying to talk me out of the Gamecube controller - I felt bad.



ALSO as for the XBL 1600 pt cards, here's what the worker told me when I asked if they had any in stock - they had some in back but they aren't showing up in the system so they're not allowed to sell them and they are sending them back to MS as per managers instructions.

Must add that employee quality at the 3 Sears around me have gone up in quality tremendously in the past months.
 
I picked up a copy of Neo Contra with the red $14.99 sticker for $6.97. It's up for trade, but I figured some Contra fan might want it later.

How much are GameCubes selling for at Sears now? My Wii won't play Cube imports with a Freeloader or Action Replay, and my original GameCube is in an unmarked box in my storage unit.

I got two Eragon's for 3.97 and three Star Trek for 1.97. Kunai'ed two sets at my local (Tulsa, Ok area) GS for two Wavebirds (mint as can be) and a whopping $0.98 left on the card. Wavebirds on Ebay (hopefully $35-$40 each). $12 becomes $65 - me like-y!

If anyone in Indy's looking for a wireless GC controller, the Sears in Lafayette Square Mall had one for $6.97 when I was there yesterday. Sadly, that one was bare otherwise.

The one in Greenwood had a $12.97 DDRU4 bundle though. :)

Gamestop marks up DS and GBA games $5 all the time. The key part of MSRP is manufacturer's SUGGESTED retail price. Just because a company says, "you should sell product y for $x.xx" doesn't mean the store has to.

Well most prices are SUGGESTED manufacturer's retail prices. They can charge whatever they want.

I just assumed that all stores sold them for $19.99. It just seems like Microsoft would have something to say about a retailer selling their items for above list price.

Come to think about it I believe the K-Mart closest to me adds a buck or two to the price of their Wii and 360 point cards. I remember thinking one day "Who the hell is going to buy what is essentially a $20 gift card for $22?"

one time the clerk accidentally scanned my game twice and the computer had no problems with the transaction, me like a dumb ass pointed out his mistake and i didnt get the credit

My Sears never has anything. Someone does a good job cleaning it out. I really would like to get Virtua Tennis 3, Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence, Shadow of the Colossus, Elite Beat Agents, Castlevania Portrait of Ruin, and Final Fantasy IV too >_<

I might be interested in that. My original model SkyFi is beginning to show its age. This would be a great upgrade. Will check out a few Sears to see if this have any of these and if they are on clearance.

The store closest to me has a locked mini display case right next to the video game dump bin. Inside they have some Digital Camcorders, cameras, and MP3 players marked down 50% or more. If they had a camcorder with a hard drive I'd jump on it (I think they were all mini disc camcorders).
 
I bought Rogue Galaxy for $8.97 today. It was marked $31.97.

And since we're on the topic of non-game clearance, anyone who is in the market for a treadmill should look at whats available. I saw 2 higher end models marked down a coupon hundred. They were still very expensive, but one even included a little cable ready TV monitor, and you need to pay for that luxury. Unless you already have a tv in your exercise room, which you probably should....
 
Picked up the following at Sears in Ogden Utah:

Elite Beat Agents 5.97
Rogue Galaxy 6.97
Star Trek Legacy 360 1.97
Xbox Live Arcade unplugged 3.97
Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops 4.97

All of these prices were actually marked right this time and the games were in the dump bin. I stopped by a week ago and none of these were in the dump bin and marked so all I picked up last week was Capcom Mini mix for 6.97. I also had the 1600 points card scanned at $25 and the 4000 point card scanned at $50. The blue hot rod 360 face plates were tagged $14.97 but rang up as "item not found". Register guy wouldn't let me have one for a dollar like I wanted (heheh)

One of my local Sears had a bunch of HDtvs on 'clearance' for like $200 off normal retail, which is still FAR OUTSIDE my 'range' for 'a good price'. Plus, they had some sort of yellow handheld GPS that supposedly has full maps programmed into it for $60. It was like $200 or so to begin with I think.

I've been checking the rest of electronics there and Kmart lately ALOT to see if I can maybe snag a decent newer tv before the 2009 switch or at least some other items which may be a decent price on clearance.
 
Has anyone seen Turtles 3 for GC at a Sears store recently? I don't think it's part of the official list, but I saw one awhile back when I didn't care... now I want one.
 
I used to work at sears, and can shed some light on a few things. Anything that is no longer in the system will be priced by the staff on hand. You have to get manager approval to do this, so it's a big YMMV. Most managers just say 50% off of the marked price, or price in the general area. Basically $9.99. If your Sears has something at 2.97, it will not go lower. If they have something at 3.97, it probably won't go lower. If you have something at 4.97, it has a 50% chance of not going lower.

Hmm I have picked up games at $.097 & $1.97 at sears with stickers pricing lets say for example "was $4.97 now is $1.97" but all in all when something hits around that $5 mark and you want it get it that is cheap, if thats to much people are just being cheap lol
 
Just got back from the Sears in Yorktown Heights, NY and they had:

DS - Clubhouse Games - $7.00
DS - Castlevania Portrait of Ruin - $6.00

Which is a damn good price for Clubhouse games. They had 1 copy of each left if anyone's in the area and interested.

ya i work in sears currently and i seen smackdown vs raw 2006 for the psp for i think $1 something..

that was the lowest ive seen a game go clearance. of course i believe that u gota be retarded go drive all the way to sears just to see if they have any clearance. i got a few people from this site come in asking me to scan certain games.

i usually confront them and say something like, u use cag dont ya. they hesistate like idiots for a sec then say ya, because they arent expecting a sears employee to no or something.

im glad to help because u cagers are very efficent and no what u want and get it.
 
I literally live around the block from a mall with a Sears and a TRU just across the road from that mall. I check far too often because I'm so close, however have scored at both but its usually slim pickins, especially now after Ive hit them up so often haha.

I've got a Sears, K-Mart, Target, and GameRush all very close to each other and my house that I check all the time. Most of the time I come up empty but sometimes I'll hit one of them right after they reorganize the glass case (nabbed Persona 3 and Tetris DS a few weeks ago that way).

Well its nice to see a sears employee that wants to help, if it wasnt for self scanners at my hole I would never know if things were on clearance because every time I ask them to scan something I get " the prices are clearly marked on the stickers" lol
