Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

Yeah, you should just take if off. Some will deny trade-ins on sealed games, more than likely to slightly attempt to deter the trade-in of shoplifted goods.

Anyway, I hate all of the Sears near me...as I said before. Went out by where my fiancee works, hoping for a little more luck than those closer to me. They had some games mentioned in this thread, but they were not deeply discounted, unfortunately. Oh, well...

Just to clarify how little luck I have at Sears, here are some games mentioned previously in the thread and how much I found them for:

Virtua Tennis (360) - $40
Battlefield 2 (360) - $20
Perfect Dark Zero (360) - $20
Star Trek Legacy (360) - $20
FFIV (GBA) - $20
Rogue Galaxy (PS2) - $20

These are some decent titles that I wouldn't mind picking up on the cheap, either to keep or to flip, but again, the Sears near me simply doesn't get into the heavy clearance prices. And yes, I had them all scanned. Pretty much pissed off the employee. Felt kind of bad, but I must be cheap!
 
I just picked up 2 Xbox 360 20 Gig Harddrives for $18.97 each at the Oakland Mall Sears in Madison Heights, MI. There was a clearance sticker on the glass case where the harddrives were with the $18.97 price on it. They rang up $49.97, so they overrode the price for me. Now I've got 3 of these things. I can't pass up a great deal.
 
Just wondering... has there been any confirmation on the gamecube price drop rumored a few pages ago? I had them scanned tonight (monday 3-3), regular GC was $50, Metroid bundle was $100. Also, does Sears have a 30 day pricematch guarantee??
 
One more day till we find out for sure if the GC price drop to $19 was for real or not. Here's to hoping it is and my local store still has at least ONE in stock.

Nice. I wish I had waited to pick up my copies, but then I may not have been able to find them if I had.

I think you're a bit early. I missed this the first time, so I read back in the thread. Unless there's info I'm still missing, the guy said it will be March 15th, not 5th.

I just picked up my Gamecube controller 1-2 weeks ago at my local Sears for less than $3 so you never know what they may have floating around.
 
I called my Sears abit ago, They said they were out of GC units but they still had a lot of games in stock, I'll check it out this weekend and see what they have that's worth buying.

From SD: " Ok guys,
I just came back from sears. First, they didn't know anything about the clearance. I asked the guy just to ring it up and he would see. He rang up metroid prime bundle and it was $99. He rang up regular console and it was $50. I told them they were both supposed to be going on clearance today. So he asked a manager about it. The manager said that there is supposed to be a 72 hour sale starting tomorrow and it may be on it. So the manager went back there and check that out and they finally figured it is going on sale for 19.99 tomorrow. But they said they would just go ahead and put it in today and let me have it for 20 bucks. After the manager got approval from her manager i finally bought the last 2 gamecubes(not the bundle) they had. They wouldn't let me have the metroid prime bundle though.
So YMMY on getting for $20 today. Some store will have it for that price tomorrow. Also the metroid prime bundle is not on clearance on my sears. I will check back later this week though.

I found one today, and I bought it at whatever price it's at. The guy knew nothing about it as well, so I'll be heading back tomorrow to get it adjusted like he suggested. If that fails, I'll return it.
 
Hmmm 72 hour sale and of 8 stores I checked, only 2 had a couple consoles...doesn't make sense to me...

This morning I bought the Mario Party 7 bundle for $19.97. It rang up $49.xx and I mentioned the sale. A manager was nearby and checked for me ... first he called another store ... that store knew nothing of the sale (and had no GCs left) .... I mentioned the e-mail sent late Feb..... he comes back with a printed list confirming the SKUs dropping to $19.97 on the 5th.... only bundle SKU was the Pokemon one...but he checked with the store manager and allowed the price on the Mario bundle...I know he was trying to "activate" the new price in their system but he needed another staff member with more experience on price changes to complete the activation.
He also confirmed all non bundled GCs are now $19.97

Well then, as usual it happened when I least expected it, since I was keeping an eye on the one GC there for the past 6 months. I also think the employees must stash stuff which they think or know is going to go on clearance/sale soon.

Either that or there's a bunch of hoarders who came through and cleaned out the local store. Either way, I wasn't expecting to find a GC for $19 today, but I had hoped that I might in some alternate bizarro world.
 
I had to drive an hour for mine. All of the Sears near me got rid of them a long time ago as well. I went one of those stores later today (because they're closer) to see if they would adjust it a day early. I had to explain it to him, that took 15 mins, he called up other managers, they looked at the store I bought it from, and this is what I was told: I have to go back there tomorrow and return it, and then buy it again for the price. The only hassle with this is that I'm wasting a crapload of gas.

To anyone that can make it to the Holyoke mall in MA, there are two Wiis at the Sears there if anyone wants one. You have to ask for them. They're out back, and they're not advertising that they're there.

The Sears I checked out had 5 Prime bundles for $49.97, and wouldn't check anything for a $19.97 price, no matter what I said. The damn 1600pt XBL cards are still ringing $24.99 as well. Oh Well...this store was a goldmine before, but it looks like they've gotten quite lazy.

The Employees probably waited untill you were gone then marked them down and purchased them themselves, I'm sure thats what the stores around me do. I'm going to have to hide stuff like "I am the Cheapest Gamer" has said. I'm starting to see great hiding spots everywhere now...stash afew copys of games that come out of the case at 29.99 behind some crappy kids DVD's and then get them when they drop.

Please note though that while I have hidden games and other stuff in times past, I have had little luck as far as actually having the stuff STILL BE THERE when it finally dropped cheap enough for my liking.

So, you can hide stuff all you want, but if there are vigilant loss prevention people monitoring the tapes and employees mindful of 'straightening up' the shelves to look busy, then chances are those games or other items will be MIA the next time you check your hiding spot for them.

As I have 3 Gamecubes already, no need for another (took advantage of the buy a used GC and get a free game at GS a few months ago to get my 2 extras, sold the games and made out with a small profit and free consoles)

My local sears stores have disappointed me in the lack of deals since before the holidays, I always used to find great sales or manager specials... oh well, once they build up more stock, it will happen again

This is true, plus the consoles usually have one of those 'locks' on them(the elastic band loss prevention devices) and I'm sure that LP wouldn't take kindly to you trying to walk over to appliances with a console and stashing it in a dryer or something.
 
I wish the Metroid bundle had been $50 the last time I had one scanned. Hopefully, it will still be there when I finally get back to that particular Sears.

agreed. i found two bundles at sears in Chicago (Lawrence and Ravenswood). but they're still $99.99. i'm hoping they'll drop soon, but no big loss if i can't get one.

wasn't a wasted trip tho. i did find Persona 3 (the one w/ the artbook) for $49.99...been tryin to hunt down a new copy for a long time.
