Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.

List

  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:

  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

attention all cags / n00bs:

DO NOT TALK ABOUT:
-Trading
-Selling/Reselling

DO NOT BEG AND FOR CHRIST SAKE, DO NOT CALL SEARS AND ASK FOR CLEARANCE.

Talk, ask, about your deals and report your finds. If youre from SD or FW and wants to post this list or any other list from CAG just so you can have your 15 minutes of fame, all we can say is FU.

Please trade your games in this thread from now on. if youre looking for any particular game, head over there as well. its stickied so it'll be easier to locate.

POSTING OR REPORTING YOUR FINDS :

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT SEARS, LIKE MANY RETAILERS, USES 2 DIFFERENT PRICE STRATEGIES TO DETERMINE IF AN ITEM IS ON FULL PRICE OR CLEARANCE.

WITH THAT SAID, HERE ARE SOME THINGS YOU SHOULD REMEMBER WHEN POSTING YOUR FINDS:

Games that ends in - .97 = Clearance Price
Games that ends in - .99 = Retail
Willowbrook Still had 1 copy of street homecourt (i think paramus had a few) , ncaa march madness, college hoops 2k8, and bullet witch I think.

edit:

Oh you meant Paramus. They had time shift which I didnt scan and some other goodies in a corner I almost missed. I think it's worth a trip. I definately took the last armored core 4 and dynasty warriors:gundam, they may still have an eternal sonata.
:360: Timeshift scanned at $9.97 at Paramus Park. I didn't see any Eternal Sonata.

I picked up:
:gc: Viewtiful Joe 2 $.97
:360: Turok $4.97
:ps3: F1 $4.97
:ps3: Dynasty Warriors Gundam $4.97

Saw :ds: My Word Coach but it scanned $12.97 so I left that also.

(Epic) failed to get a price adjustment on an F1 and Warhawk today. The cashier seemed confused when I tried to get the adjustment, but once he got what I was trying to do, he seemed willing to help me, but then of course he had to ask The Supervisor and I knew it was game over.

He said I couldn't do it, but I told him that the website said I had 30 days to get price protection adjustments etc.

He said that's not what the store policy said.

I asked if he could show it to me.

We went over to one of those computer terminals and he brings up the Sears website, scrolls to the Price Protection section, goes "uhh..." a couple of times, sits there for a minute looking for something that obviously isn't there, then he gets up and says "OK, I'll be right back"

He comes back after having consulted the Mother Brain or whatever is "back there" and goes over the price protection policy again, telling me that it only applies to SALE items, and not CLEARANCE.

I agree that it says "sale items", but I also point out that nowhere on the policy does it say "clearance items excluded, EXCEPT it specifically states 'clearance APPAREL excluded'". I hold up the F1 game and say this is not apparel. (I guess technically you could claim the Warhawk headset is "apparel", but let's not get into that). At this point he turns into a parrot, repeating that the policy only applies to sale items, and not clearance. I was at that point trying to quell the Hulk-like rage building up inside me, so I tell him that "the policy seems too ambiguous".

He obviously has no idea what I just said, as he stands there saying nothing. I picture my fist in his face. I leave. I am still the owner of a $19.97 F1 and a $16.97 Warhawk. Be warned, Sears, I shall return with a vengeance. My wrath will be felt all throughout the clearance bin! Every copy of Armored Core 4 will tremble before me! I shall smite thee with the power of a thousand copies of Mercury Meltdown Revolution!

Ahem, yeah so I'll try again in a few days and hope I get a better employee.
Pictures, really? I guess you are new and excited. Calm down, no reason to take pics because you bought a few games, lol.
I am new and excited! First score aside from the 360 itself. Pic is to prove I have them as a couple are for cagers, figured might as well post it in here as well like others did.
You must have hit Natick right before I did. I only slipped away with a V. Joe 2 for .97 and 360 DW: Gundam for 4.97.
I hit Natick last night, I left one DW: Gundam, one AC4, two Turoks, one FEAR, one V. Joe 2, and probably some others I didn't know were $4.97. The employee said he was gonna look for some, and there were two kids angrily eyeballing me with my stack of games so they might have gotten some leftovers.
Don't be too greedy my friend spread the wealth.
Don't worry I am sharing the wealth, one ES and one AC4 are going to CAGers, and I always leave a few deals for others to grab after me.

Do not underestimate 12 dollars, fellow, cager!

Picked up some games today... might return some

Buzz Quiz Hollywood - $14.97
Lair - $6.97
F1 Championship Racing - $4.97
Armored Core 4 - $4.97
I went to one store during my lunch break, trip was definitely worth it:

As already confirmed, FF6 was $9.97, DQM & BW2 were $4.97. I'm hitting two stores tomorrow after work and another two on Sunday. Here's hoping for some good finds.
I'm guessing that some of your finds were at the Citrus Park and/or Brandon stores. I had already hit those stores early Friday, but left a lot of stuff behind, figuring that other people would want to pick up copies for themselves.

I need to stop doing that.

Well, $22 to be exact, as F1 dropped $15 and Warhawk dropped $7 :)

I don't usually bother with trying to get the occasional $5 back here and there like other CAGs do, but $22 makes a difference in these troubled times...oh yeah and that GTA downloadable content ain't gonna pay for itself!

It was all at the Citrus Park store. The brandon store doesnt follow the same clearances as the other stores (they're still charging $14.97 for games that are on the 97 cent clearance, and $29.99 for games on the $4.97 list).

I hope you left plenty of stuff at Countryside & Tyrone as thats where i'm hitting up tomorrow ;-).

The policy as it appears on-line is definitely printed in such a way that you would believe it's in your favor, but it's not, only because the maangers won't do it. I asked a manager about it, too, noting that it was revised 11/08, and although it only says no adjustments on apparel, they'll still dick you around. Your best bet is to try and return and rebuy.

On some level, not adjusting clearance items does make sense, only because if they sell the last copy they have, you would never see an advertised or listed price again (unless, of course, you scour this board), and the item is, at that point, unorderable and out of the system. They really don't want anything to do with that merchandise at that point, the reason it was clearance to begin with.

Still, the policy/managers attitude doesn't help you, and it doesn't have a good reason not to. Once again, try the return/rebuy. The associates can't make adjustments without manager's approval, but they can return/exchange it for you. Maybe you could bring a receipt in for your old one, buy it again at the new price, and then return that unopened copy with your old receipt. I used to think stores would only let you return non-clearance merchandise (all sales final), but that doesn't seem the case at Sears. You can do pretty much anything, it just takes you jumping through hoops sometimes to get your way.
Wow Really all this for what like $12 lol ;)

$12 can be a lot more than you think. That's like twelve copies of Viewtiful Joe, or Eternal Sonata, Picross DS, and Feel the Magic XX/XY, or six copies of Singstar Amped w/ microphones last month, or...

... well, you see the point.

next time i see one of you bitches come in my territory and buy one of my games, i'll straight up take out my baton on the spot and beat you senseless. i don't want any of you shopping at the Puente Hills sears or any game shops around the area.

You may be disappointed. Countryside never seems to have much in the way of clearance, so I don't even bother driving up there any more. I think that's another CAG's territory, because that store and the Kmart/TRU across from the mall are usually picked clean. I already got most of the good stuff at Tyrone - I went back for more today after seeing your post. ;)

And yeah, the Brandon store sucked, now that you mention it.

Anybody know the relationship between Sears and Sears Grand?

Some (many) of the same games are clearanced at Sears Grand, but they are definitely not as cheap. For example, the Singstar ps2 games all pretty much hit clearance at the same time (maybe even earlier at Grand than the normal Sears). Then other games, like Donkey Kong Barrel Blast - are still $49.99 at Sears Grand - yes, I have rung it up.

Anybody know what the relationship is there?

And don't be silly, the Sears are cleaned out, so NO, I can't just have the Sears Grand call over to the Sears for a price match. (Same for the website, which is pretty much useless).

duno what the relationship is with sears grand, but they don't pricematch other sears clearance prices. i ran into an issue today and i called corp and still no go.

picked up AC4 = 4.99

Guitar Hero 2 Bundle (360): $14.97
Crackdown: $24.97
Project Sylpheed: $26.97... I think... It was on clearance though.
Crazy Taxi Fair Wars: ... I can't remeber what it was priced, but it was a clearance item.

All Sears stores - mall, Grand, and Essentials - seem to move on a clearance schedule determined internally. That is, the speed of drops is probably determined by the store's department manager. Some of them seem to follow the national schedule like clockwork, but others will hold prices at higher levels for longer. There doesn't seem to be any consistent difference between the types of store.

I've never had any luck getting a Sears store to PM a clearance price at any kind of Sears store.

i convince the the person that was ringing me up to pricematch the game, but he needed the manager to enter his code or swipe his card, but the manager was a 20 year old prick that wouldn't do it.

if I went to my sears earlier this week (on Tuesday) is it possible that the prices dropped already? I read about people going to their stores what seems like on a daily basis so I was just wondering. My store rang up Eternal Sonata for 16.98 and was hoping to catch it when the price dropped again.

Man, that was rough few days. I'll have a master price list done sometime tomorrow, but there's at least 60-70 different games - one sears had a ton of different cheap frontlaners good for replacement cases.

I hit the following NE Ohio stores: Mentor, Richmond/Mayfield, Solon, Niles, Boardman, Cuyahoga Falls, Akron, Parma/Middleburg, Strongsville, N. Olmstead, Westlake, Elyria. N. Randall, Ashtabula and Hermitage PA do not carry games AFAIK.

Most prices are ringing up according to Hoyle, except for a few notables - Timeshift 360 is 9.97, Super Swing Wii is 9.97, and Zelda TP was 24.97 at multiple locations.

On my entire journey, I only saw 1 Warhawk, 1 Singstar Rocks and 1 Metroid Hunters.

I also had the find of 3 weeks ago - a bunch of sealed Gripshifts for 1.97 a piece. D'oh!

Again, any NE Ohio CAGers tell me what store you need info on, or what games you might be looking for and I will tell you as much as I remember. If you are just a lurker, save your PM :)

Dave

Hey San Diego Cags, there are still a couple of copies of Def Jam Icon, F1,Dynasty/Gundam, DQM at the El Cajon store. Sorry, i picked up the last copy of Eternal Sonata at the store but i still want to give everyone a heads up on other good clearance deals.

Was Zelda TP still $24.97 at Chapel Hill? I'm no hoarder. I actually want to play Zelda TP, something I see less and less of in this thread. I wish SotC would be under $20.

Did you skip Canton? Might head there tomorrow for the build a bear / disney store.

I think some of my Sears employees are taking up these deals or there is just some serious hoarders around here. There used to be a ton of Armored Core 4 and now they are all gone.

Is SotC Shadow of the Collosus? If so it's $19.99 at CC then 30% off so $13.99.
Sounds good.
Yea, I always feel guilty buying the last good deal unless there's only one left when I get there.

On-topic - anyone have an idea how Sears decides which games go on clearance? All the ones near me have a bunch of copies of Lost Odyssey for $29.99, just want to figure out when I should start anticipating it going down. I noticed alot of them went down the first time at ~1 year from release, but could just be a coincidence.

If anyone runs into an extra F1 for the PS3, I picked up an extra Armored Core 4 (PS3) or a Battalion Wars II (Wii). They had quite a few at the Sears near me. I also grabbed a Fear (PS3), but in reading more about the game, I'm not sure I'll like it. I'd probably trade that one as well.

Love to trade, if someone wants to do a 1 for 1 swap.

Hit up a couple sears near me, thanks those who posted up the new drops/prices. Out of the 4 sears I hit up, all three except for one store actually tagged their games with the Feb drops, I was honestly surprised that 3 stores actually updated their stickers being they're usually late in doing so. The cashier at the sears that didn't have their stickers updated mentioned the drop came Feb. 5th this month and although they updated their system they hadn't yet tagged new Feb. drop stickers on the games.

No Canton for me.

And you can still get Def Jam right up the road at the Rolling Acres store - there was 2 left today

Picked up the following at the Sears in Salem, New Hampshire mall:

Bullet Witch (360) - 4.97
Armored Core 4 (360) - 4.97
NBA Homecourt (360) - 4.97
Dynasty Warriors Gundam (360) - 4.97
Pirates of the Caribbean (360) - 4.97
Turok (360) - 4.97
Guitar Hero 2 Bundle (360) - 14.97

Things I should mention:

- This store was absolutely loaded with games. The game section had no one in sight. It was a safe haven in an extremely crouded mall. There were only about 10 people that I saw in the whole two floors of this giant Sears.
The store was loaded with games, but I wasn't loaded with money. So I left several games behind...There were only two copies of DWG, I took one. So there was one left and I'm sure nobody around there knows about Sears even selling games or accessories. I got the last Guitar Hero 2 bundle.
I took all these games to own and play as I have never played them before, hopefully will get a chance to go back for more. Also worth mentioning I saw a Metroid Hunter or w.e but didn't grab it because of my shortage of cash and time. Also saw a large selection of PS2 and GameBoy Advance games. Hell, they had huge selections for just about every recent system.

If anyone is near that area, it's more than worth going if you are looking for any of the titles on clearance. It helped that there was also a self scanner right across from the electronics so I scanned a bunch of games.

EVERY SINGLE GAME I BOUGHT WAS MARKED WRONG. GH2 Bundle marked at 24.97, all others I think were either 19.99 or 29.99. Probably should have scanned more but I just grabbed the titles mentioned in this thread.

Thanks a ton for all the info provided by other CAGS.

Mine is hit and miss.

Sometimes I get really good finds. Incredible finds.

But the majority of those games just sell out at MSRP. That's so cal for you. Demand is just so high here that no one cares to wait for deals. Someone will just buy it for full price.
next time i see one of you bitches come in my territory and buy one of my games, i'll straight up take out my baton on the spot and beat you senseless. i don't want any of you shopping at the Puente Hills sears or any game shops around the area.
lol, i think this may get the opposite effect you are looking for :)

I picked up the only copy of Warhawk at my Sears last night. I didn't really see much else on clearance. I did see one copy of Dynasty Warriors Gundam, but I left it. I played the demo on the ps3 and didn't like it. I was hoping to find bullet witch or armored core 4.

Here are some games and prices I remember at a local Sears:

Tenchu Z (360) - $4.97
Turok (360) - $4.97
Armored Core 4 (360) - $4.97
Def Jam Icon (360) - $4.97
Splinter Cell: Double Agent (360) - $9.97
Monster Madness: Battle for Suburbia (360) - $4.97

Manhunt 2 (PSP) - $4.97
Final Fantasy II (PSP) - $9.97

Battalion Wars 2 (Wii) - $4.97

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker (DS) - $4.97
Assassin's Creed: Altair's Chronicles (DS) - $4.97

phear3d - I wish the OP had been updated (just to counterpoint IATCG). The Kmart thread does have the latest stuff right at the front... I just let that one go for a while because I hadn't been going to Kmart ;). (And it is possible I missed a few things the last few days in that thread)

Today I decided to check out Sears. While I spent some time combing through the last 3 or 4 pages of this thread (as it was around noon Pacific Saturday) looking for things to get and writing those down, I came back to find out I missed several games I know I saw. As not a single thing was marked correctly at this store a list would have been immensely helpful. Now I have to decide if I want to drive all the way back up there again tomorrow... Ugh...
