Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

I just did a couple to get a feel for how markdowns worked. It's all by memory so hopefully I didn't make any mistakes. Mostly $5 markdowns from what I saw, although there were a lot of them. They were doing it about an hour before I got there, and starting Wii when I left. Also the stores VERY behind on markdowns (about 6 Folklore unmarked), so some of these might have been last months which they skipped.

Also, new everything coming in so old TVs, stands, etc. will go down fast. Also there's some Home Theater Cable packages for $4.97-$14.97, I'll try to get info on those tomorrow.

EDIT: Side note, if you want really cheap stuff if you happen to have a good relationship with your local employee ask what they have in the backroom. I was only shown a little bit of it, but I'm pretty sure I saw a couple Gamecubes and a N64 in the corner. I'd imagine those are dirt cheap by now, if even still in the system. Why they keep those and destroy $2000 TVs I don't know.[/quote]

I just snagged PGR4 for $10 thanks to Ferant! I normally never check Sears. Also if anyone finds Lots Odyssey for $10 I will buy it off you + shipping.

First I have to say thanks, having an insider at Sears is awesome. Second, An N64? You have got to be kidding me. I'm going to ask what they have in the backroom tomorrow. I am hoping for some GBA games, but I'd sure take a new N64 if it was 0.97 or maybe even 1.97. Thanks again.
 
I asked someone at my closest Sears if they had any video game stuff in the back, he immediately said "Nope, everything is out here, we don't have any room in the back." Granted, I wasn't trying to be "buddy buddy" with him, I just asked as I was looking and he asked if there was anything he can help me with.
 
I've had employees volunteer to look in the back for a specific item without me asking, usually for an item that's bigger like when DDR 1/2 were on clearance and the employee thought there were some in the back. In that instance it turned out to be DDR3 that was in the back. Shouldn't that be on the floor so it can be sold?
 
I think the below 5$ price is random per store, as at one store I did not find any .97 games however another store had them, but the first store seemed like they really did shelf them after they dropped below 5$.
 
as expected, the drops are in effect in most sears. usually $5 off the previous price. although once they reach $4.97 it seems to just go down $4 off. again, YMMV on the pricing.

please check the other stuff that ferant didn't mention, im sure those have gone down as well.

also, wouldnt it be nice to report your finds just like what ferant did? it would make it easier.. but its upto you guys

sears clearance is either getting weaker or it's just starting a new cycle for 2009 :)

I'm gonna go check on Bioshock 360 today. I wouldn't mind some cheap, sealed non-PH copies of it.

Bourne Conspiracy 360, $14.97 (if I didn't get it from BB for $10, I'm not getting it from Sears for $15)

They also had one of the Shaman King GBA games for $4.97, but I forget which one

I saw that a couple of months ago for 4.97. All of the GBA games are gone from the 3 sears by me.
 
Hey guys, just came back from Sears and had several employees there scan in like 50 games for me, of course was slim pickins, but heres what I got.

:psp: Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade $5.97

:ps2: Hot Shots Tennis $2.97 (wasnt even aware there was a hot shots tennis, lol)

:ds: Tornado $9.97

:wii: Obscure: The Aftermath $9.97
:wii: High School Musical: Sing it! $4.97 (Game Only)

And yeah, that shaman king for GBA everyone is discussing is still $4.97. Been looking at that for the past few months just sitting there, lol.

Like I said, slim pickins, but I actually picked up Dead Head Fred and Hot Shots Tennis. Hot Shots Tennis mainly cause I have never even knew Hot Shots came out with a tennis game. Good luck to everyone else!
 
Got back from mine. Civ Rev nor bioshock dropped by mine. The case is cleaning and more games are out on the shelf, but now it's empty of all the good games.

Oh well, I should be saving money anyways.
 
My Sears definitely does their drops on Fridays. I was there yesterday at lunch, and the UPCs I scanned all came up at April prices. This morning, everything was at May prices ... though the shelf tags in the case were not updated yet.

I picked up quite a bit today:

... if some douchebag hadn't purchased the remaining 6 copies of :ps3: Folklore 3 weeks ago, I could have gotten it for $9.97. (I know it had to be 1 person, because no way 6 copies sell to 6 people in 12 hours, between my visits) ... though I am not disappointed that I got 1 copy for $14.97.

I am one of those people who bought :ps3: Heavenly Sword at $19.97 last month, but since there were only 2 left, I didn't want to take a chance of not getting it. It was a good decision, as the same person who bought the Folklore likely picked up the last Heavenly Sword too (gone on the same day).

This is why I have my location obscured with something that doesn't even give a hint as to where I'm located and if you notice any prior posts from me I'll almost always say 'my local Sears' instead of mentioning a specific town/city by name.

I learned my lesson with the original Baten Kaitos for the Gamecube when some hoarding motherfucker came in and bought up the remaining 5-6 copies after I bought ONE and mentioned it with location in the Kmart thread.

This is also why I hit a Sears about 35 or so miles away from me as my third 'local' Sears. They had multiples of EVERYTHING the last time I was there and hopefully they continue to have them there. I may pick up Civ Rev for the PS3 once it hits $4.97, but $15 is too much for a strategy game for me.
 
first off let me start by saying sorry for telling you guys about the may 1st drops. my friend that works there said that changed the date for the drops from may 1st to may 7th on apr. 29th. hopefully this makes up for my mistake. last night at work i spent 4+ hours looking up and printing UPCs. i then went to to 3 stores today to get price checks and a handfull of games. i went to Target, Sears and Toys R Us and manually scanned every game on this list except for Bioshock on the 360. insted of just typing all my finds which would take forever i just took pics of everything i price scanned. its 7 pics total. hopefully you guys are okay with this. pics are about 1 meg each. below the spoilers i have some more info:

I printed more 360 games than anything else. i didnt print any PS2, PSP, GC or GBA games. i tried to write the prices as neat and as fast as i could, so i apologize for if you cant read them.if you cant read a price, let me know and ill post it on here for you. it took me another 3+ hours to do all this at these 3 store so i hope you guys appreciated this.
other tidbits: i noticed that target doesnt carry much in there systems thats why there are alot of "NF". NF stands for Not Found. prices that have an arrow pointing down are on clearance at there respective store and should drop further. All games that have an arrow all ended with a number other than 9. Sears all ended in 7 and TRU either ended in 8 or 0. i also rounded these prices up to the nearest dollar as well. remember, prices are always YMMV, so they may be different at your store. i will be going back to these 3 stores again on Tuesday. i'll do my best to hit Walmart sometime in the next few days as well, since they also have a manual price scanner there as well. so if there are any other prices that you want me to check at these stores PLEASE le me know! i'll print the upc's at work and post them on tuesday evening. oh, and i also picked up the following at sears today:

:360: Lost odyssey - $10
:ps3: Folklore $10
:ps3: Heavenly sword $15
:psp: monster hunter 2 $5
:ps3: Quake wars: enemy Terrortories $10

I have no idea where you're at ;) By the way, the last time I was at "that" SEARS they had nothing... I remember about two years ago they always had good shit every time I went there and now it seems like someone is buying literally anything that is ultra cheap.

Personally, I blame a combination of the flea market people, myself and lude21, who is another fellow CAG, for the absence of anything really good.

But there's always that further away one, where I snagged Gun for the Xbox for $3 a couple weeks ago.

not 100% sure myself, but every time there is a drop in the TRU clearance thread, it drops in my store too. and the markdown isnt just a sticker on it. it drops in the system. so probably nationwide. but like i said, not 100% sure. some stuff might be YMMV, but i havnt seen any at my store.
 
Pretty sure TRU clearances are nation-wide. I've gone looking for many, many TRU clearance items, and they have always been the reported price. And yes, they are in the system. I've stumbled upon many things that were were not marked for clearance, but rang up the clearance price, like when they had the Live Vision Bundles for $40.

TRU is nationwide for the most part, although there have been a few games that would be YMMV. I think that the YMMVness was eliminated, or at least all of the YMMV games got new nationwide pricing (ie. 99 Nights was anywhere from 6.98 to 19.98 and then got a nationwide price of 14.98 awhile back).

JUST remember that some of those games have been at those prices a LONG time. For example, I got Oblivion CE at TRU for 10 over a year ago for a good friend who had open heart surgery (I'm not that old, he just had a valve problem they wanted to fix while he was young). Castlevania POR is a pretty old drop too as is the first Advance Wars game. The second Advance Wars game was dropped very recently though as was Mass Effect. Before you get too excited, check the TRU thread to see if a game was dropped recently or not.

EDIT: My oblivion reference may not be the best comparison as I just realized it was a CE which was clearanced before the regular which was clearanced before the GOTY. A better example is The Darkness, it was a drop which occurred about 8-12 months ago, but I can't remember anyone actually finding it because it was initially received at TRU in very small quantities with some stores not even receiving any copies and then they never received more copies so a couple years later when it was clearanced there were none to be had.

PS3 Oblivion GOTY 24.99, hmm wasn't this $10 a while ago? Or was that the regular one. Bah!
