Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

BZZZZ!!! WRONG!!! The original 20 and 60 gb models ALSO had backwards compatability with both of those models having among the best BC of all PS2 BC models.

How long was the MGS 4 bundle PS3 $400 though? If it were $400 last year when I bought my PS3, I would've easily grabbed one of those, since I want to be able to play my few remaining PS2 games without buying a PStwo slim.

Well, if you bought it at Wal-Mart on opening weekend it came with a $100 gift card. I've not been impressed with the BC on mine though. It won't play my wife's Kingdom Hearts:Chain of Memories game so we end up having to keep the PS2 out anyway...

Well, Sony does have that compatability thing on their site, so you could check to see if indeed KH: COM is one of the ones with issues. If not though, then maybe the PS3 is acting up?

I know mine had some read issues and I had to send it in, but you better do it before the warranty lapses.

Once it lapses, it's $150 for repairs.

Yeah, that's a well-known glitch...just get past that first part with the tutorial battle and then it runs fine on the PS3. Tons of saves online for that very purpose.

I was referring to the GHIII bundle with guitar. The price is supposed to be $8.97 for PS2 and PS3 sometime this week.
 
This nice young saleslady told me that more drops would come on the 6th. That's all she knew and YMMV of course. Don't come back bitching if your particular Sears hasn't updated the prices on the 6th because I'm just relaying info. All Sears update their prices when they feel like it.

There was a post earlier about being able to get a price adjustment if it drops. I bought GHIII about a week ago at $24.97 but waiting for the $9.97 drop. Should I still wait before opening it until I get the price adj? My local Sears sold out of my PS3 version but still had the PS2 and 360 versions.

the signing guy in eletronics should get it a day or so before. the one i work at is horribly ran and they do not have a signing guy. so what happens is the lazy manager gives us the signs every once and awhile. usually get somehow get put out by our sheer bordom of no customers.

i happened to find the clearance tags laying around because no one put them out. every month or two i usually happens to be updates
 
My Sears store never had anything...until today. I went in and they had the DDR Universe bundles for 19.97, copies of timeshift, shadowrun, bee movie for 1.97, 120gb hds for 69, and guitar hero aerosmith bundles for the outlandish price of 7.98. I could only afford half of the stuff that I wanted hah.
 
Was in Sears in Albany, NY this weekend.. wow, what a disappointment. I only saw value games on display, unless I'm completely blind. Other than that, there were about 8 employees standing in groups of 4 chatting away.

That's a common behavior of the Sears employee. Seriously, I've never seen a store with so many employees that's so devoid of customers. How the heck do they stay in business?
 
KMart is even worse, I never see more than 20 - 25 cars in the lot. I am really worried they are the next 2 stores to go which will really be horrible because they run awesome clearances.

Yeah, I guess that's why we find such great game deals. There are no customers to buy the games at regular price :)
 
I'm also looking for Heavenly Sword for $14.99. been wanting to play that game forever. Still $35 at gamestop.:cry: The Sears in Vernon Hills, IL had nothing!
 
I'm liking this as I'm finally getting to build up my PS3 collection.

In the past 2 weeks I picked up...

$20 for Buzz
$15 for Heavenly Sword
$10 for Folklore

I'm thrilled about Heavenly Sword. For some reason this game holds it's value at retail and Ebay more than any other game for being out over 18 months. The cheapest on Ebay I found was around $33

The next two I may bite on are Civilization and Ninja Gaiden 2.

The 1600 MS points rang up at $25 (in the hard plastic packaging), the live 12month + communicator set was $70 and Socom with headset was $60 (really hope this drops to $20ish)
 
I want that guitar hero 3 bundle for ps2 for $9.97, i wonder if they have it, nearest sears from me is in a huge mall in the next state over, might have to go and look

What's worse is when you ask them to price check something for you, they act like it's a huge deal. Like pressing a few buttons is so hard.

well thats sheer lazyiness. but the problem about sears employees(being one) is that the managment is horrible. any legit store would penilize u for doing that.

fact is that the store is filled with careless employees which do not make enough to care. of course a employee doing that is a complete and utter crap head.

i am completely fine with ringing up stuff for people to check the price(being that its part of my job :)), but some rather just piss away hours talking and doing there own thing. when u make $6 a hour when u dont sell u tend to not care as much.:cry: but dont blame them if the store is empty and they dont notice u as ur standing in the corner. thats why theres usually groupings.

i for one always ask whoever i see if they need help, but more or less there no one in the store anyway. but if u really feel like they are bad just report them on the site i believe

Not sure if you want FEAR for PS3,360,or PC,but as for the PS3 and 360 versions,it got a price drop to $9.98 at Toys R Us.
 
Hello fellow CAG's. ^^ Question: If the prices are dropping for the month on June 6th, do I stop by Sears on the 6th or the 7th to take advantage of the new clearance pricing?

That's what I usually do because i wana make sure they did all the drops and stuff before I go in.

there aren't that many sears around here. i have a general question. does sears usually lock up most of their video games in a big glass display case?

the sears i went to recently basically crammed most of their games into one glass case. some were even on the bottom of this case with only one side of the game case exposed so you can't see any price tags at all=(
