Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

I have nothing really new to report, but wow, am I happy today to be a CAG! :) And I am happy that Sears does not mark games correctly.
 
My bad Sears is getting a little better, I found 2 :ps2: Singstar Pop (game only) for $1.97 each. They have a lot of the games that got marked down in this drop, but their prices are old. I was hoping for a copy of Timeshift but it still rang up at $9.97.

i think sears workers in fort wayne are starting to clear out the cheap games

last month saw 15 copies of PSP Crazy Taxi went there thursday there was 0 even before the markdowns
 
I picked up the following on a Friday night Sears run:

Shadowrun $1.97
Naruto Clash of Ninja Revo 2 $4.97
Enemy Territory Quake Wars (PS3) $4.97
Folklore $9.97
Stuntman Ignition (PS3) $1.97

Looks like there is some variance with the pricing of Stuntman Ignition out there. I also got the price on a few other games that came out to be full price or close to it, including Oblivion: GOTY (PS3) $24.99, Endless Ocean $29.99 & Call of Duty 3 (X360) $29.95

If you think those prices are bad, today I found Sims Pets for GC and it was still 19.99, scanned and everything, if that wasn't bad enough I then found Xbox Tiger Woods 07 (I think, maybe wrong on the year) at the same store also 19.99 and there were 4 of those. On a little more current games, still full price on Oblivion PS3 (both versions) and Cranium Kabookii.

Definitely a lot of variance out there. I make every store ring up the games (if they don't have price scanners available). In the same day I had one sears ring up FFV for Gameboy at $20 and a different Sears on the other side of town ring it up at $4.97 (or $4.98 or whatever)

That's just one of MANY games that are all ringing up at crazy-different prices. I was fortunate enough to find a Zelda for Gamecube at one Sears for $5 - it looked like an employee had set it aside for himself by a cash register, but the employee I spoke with assured me that it was all good if I bought it.

Can't say a lot else, except once again THANKS SO MUCH to the CAG's out there who made this possible.
 
Few quick questions for fellow CAG's

Are the clearance prices usually marked, or do you have to ask to get the games scanned for the most part?

Is there anyway to scan the games yourself?

Sometimes the prices are marked, sometimes they aren't.

Some Sears have price checkers scattered around the store and we usually take our own UPC sheets (first post) in there to check the prices. Sometimes you can take the game to the scanner and check the price like that or you can ask an employee for a price check.

Some will have clearance stickers on them (usually pink or yellow), but this doesn't always happen. Some won't be marked. You gotta know what games are priced what, regardless of physically shown price.

Yes, self-scanners. Some Sears have these, some don't. If yours does, I suggest making a UPC Sheet.

Last time this store was so organized and had tagged everything, but nothing was tagged this time. Probably has changed already since when I bought some games Friday the clerk was shocked everything rang up less than tagged. Another CAG got a 120GB HD there for the clearance price already reported (Something around $70, what a steal). One thing I noticed was that they had moved the vast majority of cheap games to new bins and the cheap game racks were mostly empty. I dunno if this is how they reorganize and I just happened to be there in the middle of it or if it's maybe a precursor to them getting a new wave of cheap games.
 
My friend in Virginia picked me up a PS3 Guitar Hero III bundle for $14.97. He said he also got the PS3 Aerosmith bundle for $7.97 and PS3 Condemned 2 for $4.97. His store has nearly every great deal! My local store....not so much.

Tried to update with some new ones. Orange Box and Project Slypheed do not appear to be on clearance, could have been a manager created price change where reported. Some of these I already reported, but wanted to update for easier copying to the first page. Halo 3 Legendary, Blue Dragon, Guitar Hero 3 Bundle and Game added to list. Other games went OOS on Thurs.
 
The Sears in Cape Girardeau, Mo. is a CAGs wet dream. I saw one clearance tag on one game :)ps3: Incredible Hulk)...the rest looked like it hadn't been touched since it was put on the shelf. Things like :ps3: Oblivion: GOTY and :ps3: Burnout: Paradise were still marked at $59.99! I gotta imagine average consumers see those prices and take them at face value. I had to restrain myself and came away with the following:

Saw GH Aerosmith for $8 and GH III for $3(game only) but passed. It's a great deal, I dunno I just didn't really want them.

noticed that eye of judgment dropped down to $30... last week it was $55 so maybe if it's still there two weeks from now it will have dropped even more!

my Jeanne D'Arc still scanned $29.99. Where are all of these magical Jeanne D'Arc for clearance everyone is finding. I checked this last month too and it was $29.99. ~_~
 
you know, this one was $5 but at the next closest sears it still rang up for $30
 
I haven't been to Sears in awhile. But I stopped by my local one the other day. The games have this bar code sticker now on front. So are the games whatever price the sticker says or do they scan the bar code on the back when ringing up games and the prices can be lower then there sticker price?

Both bar codes are probably the same numbers. I think you are referring to the white sticker label that they usually place on the shelving but I have seen them sometimes on the actual games. The price will be whatever it scans as in system.

Kind of silly if you ask me to put these on the actual games being that someone might try to switch labels.

I had been wondering about EOJ, it won't drop in 2 weeks though, try back in a month or so. Personally I am waiting for it to be $10 or so, none of my local K Marts had this game when it was clearanced.
 
Anyone find DOA4 or CoD4 lately? Just curious on how hard it might be to find those 2 @_@. Gonna check another Sear's tommorow, hoping to find those or Lost Oddysey.

If you're referring to me, I don't recall seeing 3 of them reported before (Bioshock, Rock Band, Madden 08). The others (other than EOJ) were mentioned a couple times at best and I thought they were good enough to be mentioned again. Also, I don't see a problem listing multiple finds especially considering the YMMV nature of this clearance, where some games are ringing up MSRP for some and $1.97 for others.

Maybe next time I won't confirm any prices and keep them to myself. Which would kind of suck for this thread since I contributed a good number of them on drop day.

I've been following this thread pretty regularly, and scored six games the past two days but overlooked the price of the 360 GHIII Legends of Rock bundle price. So, to answer your question, I learned more from Josef's redundant post than yours.

I along with a lot of others really apprecieate the stuff you posted. I would have not gotten some of the games I got since hardly anything is tagged if it wasn't for some of the stuff you and others mentioned.

Especially since like you said some of the stuff is YMMV so if a lot of people confirm prices, the less of a chance it is of being YMMV.

Exactly, a good example is in March (before working at Sears) I nabbed Warhawk bundle and FFVI for $1.97 each which is a price they still haven't hit any many stores. Managers have the ability to activate PCNs early, as well as create their own PCNs if they deem it necessary. So one or two people isn't adequate for posting finds, which is why things are repeated.

I personally post my list of drops and add to them multiple times to keep them all in one place and so as to make it easier for phear3d to copy to the original post.
 
Well, I am going to have to hit up a few sears tomorrow. I do remember seeing one last copy of that Gundam game at a sears thats out of the way, and I am sure I can find a good amount of other stuff while I am at it.
 
Well, I must have one of the worst Sear stores. Nothing on clearance, went looking for Xbox 360 Civ Rev for $10, but it was still $40.00. All games were GS/GC retail price or higher.

my comment was not directed at josef or anyone specific.
i think it would make things easier on phear to post new items, not one new mixed with 8 others...that's when a new item(drop) is missed.
confirm someth'n once or twice? sure, but 20x and then one new one mixed in...?
I returned home excited to post the $8 PS3 A bundle but read at least 3 posts about it and a couple others I discovered

All 360 games I assume? The only reason I ask is because with this drop in particular Sears has been pricing certain games differently per system.

since these clearance drops can be YMMV, it has been really helpful to read what other CAGers have been able to pick up at sears for cheap. i rather see multiple posts with the same price reported than just 1 post.

for me, a majority of the clearance games i was able to buy this past weekend had no price tags. if no one had posted the price drops, i wouldn't have bothered asking a sales associate to unlock the glass case and scan them for me.

The guitar hero 3 bundle came up $14.97 but the pink sticker was cheaper so the lady rang it up at the lower price plus it was the last one. I went looking for Folklore and Heavenly Sword but I'm pretty happy with what I ended up with.
 
went to my sears today in johnson city, tn ..... and as usual this sears has absolutely nothing that the other sears have on thier clearance from what others are saying ..... only game that everyone else is finding for decent prices would be simpsons for PS3 and it was 4.97 ..... everything else even the 1.97 games others are nabbing was 19.99 at best

My entire area of 3 cities im at never has anything CAG'ers can find elsewhere at any stores (Sears,Target,Kmart, ect) ......

on a funny note ...my wife actually got pissed at me in Sears and said she tired of me wasting her time hunting for deals with reported pricing from CAG cause she thinks its nothing but nerds in basements making up BS cause they have nothing better to do ....LMAO ...thought it was kinda funny ...needless to say I had tuck my tail and go directly with her to Ambercrombie to go bikini shopping lol
