Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

I fuck ing hate old ladies.

Local Sears had about 15 360 Areosmith bundles two weeks ago. I noticed while playing GH5 that one of my guitars was acting kinda wonky, so I say no problem, I'll just go grab one of those bundles at Sears since they dropped to $5 this week. All 15 bundles that were up on an unreachable 10 ft. shelf were gone. So I ask this sweet looking old lady who works there if she knew anything about where they might be. And she smiles and tells me how they had to add the new GH5 bundles to the shelf so she took it upon herself to reorganize and reprice all the music games. She said the pile of GH Areosmith and Rockbands didn't even last until closing.

Same thing happened a year ago to the local Kmart...went from teenagers working in electronics to an old lady who proceeded to correctly label and reorganize all the clearance stuff. She even called a manager once because she didn't want to sell me something because it was too cheap! Why won't they just die. Why do they have to take the good deals down with them.

Saw the DDR game for the Wii (Hottest Party or something?) for $25. Also Sony HDMI cables for $15 (I think they were $70).
 
The one manager at the one CC I used to hit up denied me clearance games the one time since they weren't marked as being on clearance and came up $2 each. Karma is fun though, since CC went under and took that manager with it.

Click the guide button and go over to the "Marketplace" tab. Then, just use the "Redeem Code" option.
 
I wonder if those 2 packs of PS2 memory cards will drop to $1.97 next month. I should go pick up a few of the packs for $5, since I missed them when they dropped at Target.

Thankfully they're not marked at the Sears I saw them at, so they should still be there next month unless whoever was hitting the local stores starts nailing there again.
 
Since Target and Gamestop have opened in the past few years in the same shopping area Sears is at they rarely sell games anymore and because of that the bargain bin is not to good anymore. No joke I have seen games last 6-12+ months in that bin. It kind of makes me mad since they use to tend to have better deals then Target.

The best thing I have seen at the one in Whittier was a year of Xbox Live for a year $10.00 when the 360 first came out.

The one in Whittier just has for the most part a bunch of Meh games for up to $20.00. I think the best would be PS3 Orange Box.
 
If anyone tomorrow is out and sees America's Army: True Soldiers, please take a note of the price for me.

It disappeared at two of the Sear's near me, but I'm hoping it will be at one of the other two.
 
I don't know if it has been mentioned yet, but John Woo's Stranglehold and Blacksite: Area 51 (both for 360) were on clearance for 1.97 at my Sears. I snatched those puppies up!
 
Any know know how much Final Fantasy XII is going for at Sears? I was there today not a sales guy in site and FF12 was locked in their case with no visible price on it so who knows.
 
Went down to my Sears today but all I could find were the Nyko batteries/chargers. Picked up an extra one. If anyone's interested in buying/trading, PM me. I've been looking for Folklore for a while...

Heh, they were in a glass case with all new stuff (Batman AA etc.). I'm sure pretty much everyone ignores new stuff at Sears.

The store by me had filled the wire game bin again, but it was filled with the $29.99 and under games (Price of Persia, Frontlines, etc.). Maybe next month these will be the next batch to start dropping.

Mall of America Sears has 3x Rock Band SE for $19.97 and 2x Rock Band SE for 360 for $14.97. Don't need either of these so I figure I'd help out any CAGer's in the Twin Cities. They also have a Sony standalone Blu-ray player for $99.97 in their Blu-ray player section, model number ends with 350. None of these are marked but will scan at these prices.

The short version: yes, unless we're talking about the guitar only games. No online play or DLC is a big deal for a lot of people, and depending on the game they might be missing things like create a character modes.

He asked about SOUND quality.

Unless the 360/PS3 versions do surround sound (I don't know, offhand), I don't see why there would be any difference. The storage medium is the same for the 360 versions, and the PS2 has optical audio.
 
Just got back to Sear's and apparently a hoarder beat me to the store. Last month I made in time to see just about every game on discount at the $5 and $2 price point, also the discounted battery chargers, Eye of Judgement, etc. Went today, and basically everything was gone. All the chargers were gone, Eye of Judgement was gone, the straggler's from last month's drops were gone, only a couple of games left such as Clubhouse Games :ds: for $19.99, Uncharted $29.99, etc.

I did find Cranium Kabooke :wii: and Bioshock :360: which had been gone last time I was there, so I was a little excited, take the mile hike to the other side of the store with a couple of games in hand and everything rang up at $29.99.

So, overall, no good finds, nothing under $20 actually. They still have a ton of the Guitar Hero III bundles, they can't seem to get rid of. They are lining the entire case of games and the big display they put up for Guitar Hero 5 has nothing but III on the shelves. I didn't even see the Guitar Hero 5 bundle anywhere, or any price tags for it, all I could find was the game only.

Here's hoping next month will bring better luck ;)

Answered my own question-- I took a Naruto Clash of Ninja R 2 :wii: that I'd just purchased for $20 to a different Sears store where I'd previously grabbed a copy for $2.97. Showed the clerk the two receipts and asked what the deal was. The guy looked totally baffled for a second, then said "Come with me." Paged a manager, the manager took one look at the receipts and said "Huh, looks like your story checks out." He turned to the clerk and told him to do a return/exchange. The guy handed me $18 in cash, and I was done!

So, at least in some cases, it's worth it to grab a priced-too-high item at one store and try to have it adjusted at another store. Worked for me this time!
 
But see, some of us only have cash enough to pay the cheaper price and can't exactly(or don't want be hassled to return/rebuy at another store)do the 'buy higher and take to a store that has the right price' deal.

This is why I wish the clearance was 100% universal across the board and not so damned YMMV.
 
I checked my sears store again today, barely anything on the clearance shelf. I'm trying to figure out what day they normally put more stuff on there. Do any of you know what day they normally do it?

Got a Live Vison cam for $4.97 on Mon, been looking for 3 weeks for that! Also got the Nyco dual battery charge kit today $4.97.
 
Noticing a lot of OOS on clearance games, so be prepared to make sure they give you a visual confirmation on games they claim to be out of stock or out of system.

40 mins to convince 2 sales clerks that Sears had Guitar Hero Aerosmith in stock, when they finally got management turns out that they did. Two copies, and was listed as 1.97 but wouldn't sell it to me because they thought something was wrong.

Yay Sears.

If it were me I woulda called corporate right in front of their asses. You woulda had GH A now :D. You can still probably do it and get a gift card or some form of compensation.
 
Something weird happened to me today. I asked the guy to get a couple 512 Memory units out of the case "hey, i think it's on sale, can you check for me."

He came back and said "what do you think they're on sale for?"

I said "$5." (I actually remembered wrong.) And he said "They're actually 9.97." And I said "I'll take em."

What kind of sales person asks the customer "what do you think it's on sale for?"

Epic failure for me. I was at one Sears on Friday and got a memory card (seems like too much now) and a black battery recharger (to return to KMart for the 15 I paid) and I passed on the few cameras left and didn't scan the RB1 Bundles since they were marked 50ish, didn't think they'd drop from 35 to 15 (noone had reported a price yet) and didn't want to attract attention to them if they were not quite cheap enough. Well I stopped by on Monday and EVERYTHING had been organized and marked as the bundles were gone as were the live cameras. At the other store all 50+ live cameras that were there Thursday were gone yesterday as were most of the memory cards. No RB1 Bundles. My last shot at cheap drums for a good while. Did notice the following games with SEP tags:

DS Lego Batman 14.97
Wii Marvel Ultimate Alliance 14.97
Some hannah montana game 24.97
PS2 Some teenage themed DDR bundle 4.97

Sorry,didn't want to waste perfectly good brain cells on rememvering exactly which kids games were on sale, but if you're looking for those go look.

That's why in our region post, I put the abbreviation instead of the actual location. Once the abbreviation got it, I knew lurkers and hoarders where going to clean those places out.
 
Is it common knowledge that the Beatles Rock Band bundle is $159 at SEARS? I saw it today and thought that was a pretty big deal, but I don't see it mentioned anywhere.

That would have to be the "Value Bundle", which contains the original Rock Band 1 (i.e. generic, wired) instruments. $159 is MSRP on that. Honestly, you'd be just as well off grabbing the Rock Band 1 bundle for $14.97 if you can find it for that and then getting the disc-only version of the Beatles game, and you'd save some money. Or, for that matter, if you bought Rock Band 2 on Amazon for $99 and bought the disc-only Beatles game at full retail, you'd get it with better instruments and an extra game for the same price as the new "value" bundle.

If your Sears was really selling the Limited Edition for that price, it was because someone there made a mistake.

Apparently, the clerk knew what the price was going to be on the items and wanted to see if you knew the right amount. Thing is, the clerks at the stores I've stopped at were kind of shocked when I quoted the right price, since they had all just got done telling me that 'we just updated the prices'.

Kind of makes them look like a bunch of lazy asses and pisses them off if they've been waiting for these items to drop so they can grab them. :lol:

Speaking of which, I think I'm going to go and grab some of the PS2 memory card 2 packs tonight from the one local Sears with them left in stock.

Since I no longer have a PS2, I don't really need them, so if anyone wants 1 or 2, I'm sure we can negotiate a deal. :D
