Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

Do your Sears have a clearance bin with rock band sets on them? or do you guys ask them to check the prices on them? Also is it just the first rock band set you are finding?

Well, they put this big wooden game display case in the metal clearance game bin that I used to sift through. But usually the RB sets are with the GH World Tour sets and the other bigger sets.

And it's just the first RB that's on clearance, from what I remember.

Thank you, I'm going to have to go back to my sears and take another look.
 
Terre Haute, IN - picked up PS3 EoJ for 9.97 and 360 Live Camera Bundle for 4.97 - sales clerk said he just bought a bunch of PS3 HDMI cables for $10 but had none left in stock. Not much in the clearance game bin but the glass cases still have lots of fodder ripe for future clearance drops. Definitely will stop by again on my way thru Indiana someday.
 
I went back to the Sears I saw the 2 packs of PS2 memory cards at last week. They sold one pack but the other two that they had were still there. I picked up the following:

:ps3: Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer-$2.97(marked $9.97)
:ps2: Memory card 2 pack(red/blue) 2@ $4.97 per pack

They also had the right sign up for the yellow 2gb flash drives($.97), but they were all gone. They also had the right sign up for the pink 2gb flash drives($2.97) and they had two left.

They also have a shitload of Bluetooth headsets on clearance, ranging from $7.97 to $23.97(Nokia) for those who may want a BT headset for their PS3 or cell phone.
 
Everything at my sears rose :O for example Kane & Lynch is 19.99... the only thing that had a September tag is that army game with Hell in the title.

I work at sears in auto center and have scored lots of deals. They have place in there system to look up clearance games. I have friend do it for me and get deals

Just checked my local Sears store and they had one Rock Band SE bundle for PS3. Unfortunately, it still rang up for an old clearance price of $111.97. Is this a YMMV, or is my Sears just a slow one in updating clearance prices?

It seems that most people are either getting it for $14.97 (360) or $19.97 (PS3), or $111.97. It just seems to be the YMMV nature of this clearance.

One store near me had both the 360 and PS3 versions for $111.97, another store had the 360 version for $111.97 and PS3 version for $19.97.

Unfortunately it seems likely the stores pricing it at $111.97 won't drop the price even with future drops based on past experiences where games rung up more at another store but still were at a clearance price and were stuck at those prices for months. Battalion Wars 2 for example which I have probably mentioned before is still $19.97 at my local store even though that is the December 2008 or January 2009 price and almost every store dropped it to $4.97 in Feb 2009.

Yep, Battalion Wars II is still $24.97 at one of my local Sears. Been that price since February I believe. Stuck in clearance limbo.
 
All Sears clearance is YMMV. For example, tonight I found about five copies of Battlefield: Bad Company, in the bin no less, but unmarked. I took one up to the register and asked the cashier to scan it. Despite the fact that it's been listed in the OP for months at a cheaper price now, it still came up at $19.99, i.e. not even actually on clearance.

Did see one thing that I haven't seen listed yet:

:360: Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom $14.97

Still about $10 more than I want to pay for it, though, so hopefully it survives a few more drops.

Got a PS3 bundle for 17.97. Saw 2 more at another one for 68.97...weird. I thought about trying a price adjustment but I've been denied before. I was told they don't adjust clearance prices, although some sales people will.
 
I lucked out today. No software finds, but I got two of the Vision bundles for $4.97 each. :D

What that translates to: a Vision camera, a month of Live, a headset, and a "free game" (not sure what that is; here's hoping it isn't Uno because I've already got that).

I'm definitely planning on keeping one; I don't need the headset, but the camera should be nice (especially since I've got Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise to use it with). As for the other bundle, I'm considering throwing it up for trade. :whistle2:k

The weirdest thing was that they'd actually marked down the cams correctly, and they were still there. I'm a little surprised that they'd lasted even until today, since I know my chunk of the state has a lot of CAGs in and around in.

Here in San jose, they must have pulled all the vision cam bundles right before the price drop. I saw at least 12 vision bundles total at 3 different stores. The day the new drops hit, I went to get one, and they were sold out at EVERY SEARS in the Bay Area. (according to their computer.)

:lol::lol: Looks like you might have a Sears employee hoarding the deals. Good luck with that. It seems like most of the shmucks at my local 2 Sears who were intrigued by my cherry picking of some deals must've been fired or quit, since I've had little trouble getting most deals anymore.:D

Of course, now that I said that, all of the Sears stores by me will be devoid of deals for the next 3 years.:roll:
 
My girlfriend got a little too excited the other day and kind of spilled the beans to an electronics guy. Nothing specific, just kind of bragging. It's okay, though, we've scored so much stuff over the last two months I can't be bothered to be angry.
 
I haven't really spilled the beans to anyone, unless they've been really cool and price checked everything I wanted checked for me without acting like it's a hassle for them. If they ask how I knew some might be super cheap, I tell them I found out on the internet and if they seem genuine and can bs about games and gaming for longer than 5 seconds, then I let them know bout CAG.

But if they're in a hurry to get back to their chat session by the tv's, then I just get shit checked, buy what I want and then leave.
 
Looking back, she may have done it to rub the guy's nose in it. He looked pissed that we were buying stuff for super cheap, and my girlfriend's pretty feisty; I'm actually willing to bet money that that was the case. She didn't mention how we found out about the deals, though.
 
FINALLY found a vision cam bundle. Unfortunately it came up 19.97. So I bought it and went to another place that had it at 4.97 to get the difference. Guy was cool about it, until he needed to confirm. Then the manager comes up and says "No we cant price adjust clearances from other stores". I mentioned return-rebuy, but he said thats the same thing, cant do that either. I told him I'd done this before (true). He wasnt having any of it. Almost didnt let me return it either. he finally let me, but then took the thing and slapped a huge clearance sticker on it and then said that was going back "to the company" and that it would be gone by tomorrow. Needless to say, I was pissed, but oh well, nothing you can do about it. Roll on the next deal...

I doubt im the only sears electronics employee which comes on this site. I do not get why people like you think you teach employees deals. We are way ahead of this stuff then you guys majority of the time.

My manager puts items in 991 which makes them cheaper all the time. So ergo we get first dibs. I usually do not care about the deals so I let them go.

Ditto. I had a couple yesterday ask if I was jealous of the deals they found, attempting to rub my nose in it. I told them no, that I'd already bought the best stuff before it hit the floor at the new prices. I bought 6 of the BDP-S350 Blu-Ray Players, and 2 coworkers bought the other two, at that price people are going to love me come this Christmas.

Mismanaged stores, sure I can see them not knowing. But since I've started I get my manager to give us a list of the clearance stuff every time it hits (the signing computers print out the appropriate signs for clearance.) Unfortunately my store sells a lot of video games at retail so I know we're missing a lot that's clearance.

I like giving everyone a few days heads up when I find out the dates, but if you come to my store don't think all of us haven't cherry picked through first. Sometimes though things slip through like I left Bioshock for PS3 at $4.97 because it was supposed to drop to 97 cents in 5 days and someone bought it.

Well, the clerk I had price check the first Vision Cam at the store I hit last Sunday sure seemed pissed when I said I wanted the other two they had in stock after the first one came up $4.97 and he was shocked or at least acted it when it came up $5. Same deal when I picked up a single copy of the Warhawk bundle with the Bluetooth headset, the guy was all shocked that it was only $10 and the other two promptly disappeared as soon as I left the store. I came back in not even 5 minutes later to grab another one for a buddy of mine and the two remaining bundles were long gone.

Same store I hit on Sunday had 3-4 of the Eye Of Judgement bundles sitting on one of those magnetic hooks marked at full price and with no hint of any clearance stickers or signs anywhere near them.

So suffice to say, I think I get some of these deals long before the employees due to the chit chat mentality many of the clerks have at the Sears stores I've been to(the aforementioned huddle by the HDtvs where they're talking and ignoring customers).

I don't mean to 'offend' or whatever, but the employees at my stores must be clueless or not in the loop or whatever, since I've had a pretty easy time cherry picking what I've wanted over the past couple years since I started keeping track of their clearance prices.
 
I never boast about the deals I get to employees but the employees are usually shocked at the prices some of the stuff rings up, sometimes to the point where they think it is a mistake.

When the Guitar Hero bundles dropped to $8 they went crazy after I bought some (not angry, just they couldn't stop talking about how low the prices were and all of them bought a bundle)

Another time when Madden 06 360 was $1.97, they insisted it was a mistake and it was supposed to be $10.97 but someone priced it wrong (it rang up for $1.97, not stickered). They sold it to me but were convinced that no 360 game could be that cheap.

There is only 1 Sears store I go to where the employees know about the deals, and usually don't act surprised when a game rings up for an amazingly low price, though even the manager was shocked when they marked down that 3 pack of PS2 games to $0.97, he said $0.33 a game is the lowest he has ever seen a game.

I know you quoted pspsnake but just wanted to make it clear I wasn't really referring to you. I was more referring to the lurkers/hoarders who seem to frequent my store (I can only assume they'll read this because they must be keeping up to date if they know what to look for) Some of them do get nasty, though I am not afraid to get nasty back but with a friendly smile on my face the whole time.

I just enjoy bursting their bubble when they're so proud they "stole" a deal from me and I tell them the things I got that they missed.
 
That's where your store(and PSP's) differs from my local ones, in that I think there's a few hoarders and lurkers who hit them, but for the most part it seems like the employees are mostly not in the know.

Either that or they just don't care for most of what hits clearance, so they just leave whatever they don't want. But thus far I've picked up most of what I've wanted from the local two stores and when those two didn't have what I might've been looking for, I hit up a further one and they had some better stuff that wasn't picked over.

Although I will say that the copies of Bioshock that were at two of the three stores I hit got snapped up, even though one store had them ringing up $29.99 each. More power to whoever grabbed them, since I wasn't about to pay $30 a pop and then try the return/rebuy or adjustment thing at my closer stores.

I do apologize if I came across as rude, but the employees either feign shock very well or they are out of the loop around here.

No apology needed to me, don't worry about it. Never really seen someone post in here recently that bugged me, just a few of the ones that come into my store.

Also on topic I scanned everything in my department the other night. Either there are no markdowns next month or they aren't in the system yet. There's nothing good that we have that's marked down. Madden 07 for $1.97, Spectrobes for $9.97. PSP 1GB memory cards $4.97, DS Action Replay $4.97.

I quietly buy my games and am always friendly to the Sears staff. So far no one has every hassled me and I get what I want/sometimes don't even want but too cheap to pass up.

I did that with 2 copies of Cranium Kabookii that I got for $29.99, they were $1.97 at this store. I just returned them since they didn't want to adjust the price. Well they showed up 2 weeks later in the clearance bin lol. I snagged them real quick.

Yeah, I learned something this time around. I don't know why it didn't occur to me that clearance tags on tv's, cameras, etc. could be wrong too. Now I check the date on the tag (if it has been printed) and if it is old, I get them to punch in the 5 digit number to check the price.

Went to a Sears today, and spotted a Battlefield Bad Company for PS3 marked $19.99 listed as JUN clearance, so I figured it may ring up cheaper. So I take it up to the cashier and explained that the date was marked as JUNE and it may have since dropped. He was talking to another employee and didn't seem to give me the light of day. He rang it up and didn't even say anything. I sat there for 10 seconds in an awkward silence because I couldn't see the screen or anything, when he finally said it was 20 bucks. I walked a couple of steps to the right and saw it was in fact $19.99. He handed me back the game and returned to his conversation. So I put it back and walked out. My fail at Sears for the day.
