Official Sears Clearance Thread II - post Sears finds/deals here

ya hmmmm dunno, regular clearance should be across the board... If I remember right those xbox hard drives went to VOM ( very old merchandise ) to 19.97 so maybe that store hasn't had their VOM updated yet... not really sure. Though that should happen first of the month now. Since that is not a individually priced item you could have it transfer saled from another store ( if in stock ) or even possibly price match it if they call another store and see what that item number rings up... since it's not a 991, I know I'd match it.
Thanks. I was just wondering because google shop may show 1 game for $9.97, but the other shows $24.97. Its not open box or anything, but seems like it depends on the location. Just like when using goggle shop to lookup the 60 GB starter kits for xbox 360, many stores show $19.97, but the one store close by showed $69.97. They are new, but for some odd reason two different prices.
It's been like this since SHC-Gamer n crew restarted the clearance cycle drops. Before they came around Sears and Kmart clearance drops were universal across all stores in each chain and you could get the same items from coast to coast for the same damn price.

But now they leave it up to the managers, who would apparently rather have old stock sit on their shelves forever and collect dust at higher prices than clear it out for cheap.

As i was looking for a xbox 360 bundle through google shop, The store couldnt find it. Then i asked if they had any ps2 silver consoles (since i remember someone at CAG said $19.97) The got pulls out 2 silvers and a lego batman bundle. One silver came up $99 and the other $19.97. The lego bundle was $29.97. Funny thing is that google shop didnt have these items show up at that store. Wish i can find one more silver or black console for that cheap...
Is that right? I thought it would be the following week since September starts off pretty much at the end of the week.
I'm hoping it's this Friday. The last three drops were June 3rd (pg 221), July 8th (pg 235), and August 5 (pg 271). You're right because there wasn't a drop on Fri, July 1st but there WAS one on June 3rd so I'm hoping we see drops Sept 2nd! :bouncy:

yeah me too because i'm leaving to vegas on 9/9 (friday) to 9/11 (sunday). I have yet to pick up a 60gb starter kit for $20 and I know a spot that has several them in-stock (it's located in the tv accessories section, weird) so im crossing fingers it dropped a little bit more.
No, because regular clearance rings up the same across stores but individualy put clearance items ( mostly open box items etc ) have been put on whats called a 991 table or individual clearance and only ring up in that store, a different store wont even bring up that price or stock but just the regularly stocked sku... so thats why you can't transfer that stuff. if that makes sense. Some of these items show up on the sears site on the sears outlet, just have to look thru individual stores items.

on the other question about google shop, I have never used google shop but no stores won't match eachothers individually priced clearance because one might be open box while the other isn't or been repaired or a defect ( dead pixels etc ) their all indivdual
Im responding to this post and your other post.

I know youve worked there but clearly I know the system slightly better then. There are tons of instances where a clearance price is lower at one store than another. It happens so much more than you think. Ive done over 100 transfer sales.

And its not much work at all and its completely worth it. For example if I know Sears A has netbooks in their system at 9.97 but they are OOS but Sears B has them in stock at 99.97. I will all day buy them at Sears A via transfer sale and pick them up at Sears B.

How is this not efficient? Im saving 90$. This happens alot more than you think.

991 stuff is a totally different story. Im not talking about these items.

Ive had stores where Metroid Triology last year was 14.97 and sold out everywhere. Although 1 sears still had them ring up at full price 59.97. They had 2 in stock. I cashed them both out for 14.97 at one store and drove 20 minutes and picked them up at another store. Once again totally worth it.

Again this isnt super common but in these instances its completely worth the time to do a transfer sale. Im not refering to open box 991 items just simple clearance markdowns. They are certainly not the same across the board at all stores. Usually 1 out of 5 stores will get unlucky and not have the markdown and thats the store to pounce on.

The customer above just gave a PERFECT example. The RCA TV. He did the research and with a transfer sale will save a ton of money.

Oh, the one in Henderson, NV?

I was there yesterday and they had 2 of those 60gb starter kits left. Please only purchase one if it drops though. I have a few CAGs in my area, and we're all pretty civil about not hoarding and whatnot.

But my question is, can u do the transfer at store B? What if store A was like 50 miles? Do u have to go to Store A (waste gas), do the transfer at store A, then head over to store B for pickup?

Dude, don't worry. i am from los angeles and i am not planning to hit up sears while in vegas.

Oh, no. Sorry, I didn't mean it like that. I just mean please don't go sweeping it clean xD.

That one still has 99cent PSP games. It's kinda sad how poor the traffic is.

Wish it was easier. That be a pain and waste of gas.

Yes thats what you have to do. Its a pain but to be fair its not a trick made for us :) We just use it.

Although luckily in my area I have 5 sears within 30 min drive total

FINALLY, one of the 'missing' copies of :ps3:Little Big Planet showed back up at the one further Sears yesterday. It came up as $9.97, so I picked it up. Now I have a physical version of the game again as opposed to the files from the WB program from Sony.

Do you get a phone call when your item is ready to pick up? I see every time I go to sears where they check their systems and it says they have an item, but no one can find it anywhere. Seems like it'd be annoying to pay for an item and drive to pick it up not even knowing if they were able to find it.

My fear is that after you pay, what happens if the stock is gone from the store you go to pick up your item at? How would refunds work in those cases?

Refunds are easy. It's a pain just to travel 30, 50 miles just to do the transfer thing at that low price store and then go pick it up at the other store. There is no way knowing if they can find it. (Item showed in stock, but they couldnt find it. )

Just picked up a couple Professor Layton and the Curious Village :ds: for $1.24 each. They were on clearance for $4.97 and were in an "additional 75% off" bin. Unless my brother is interested in one of them, both probably end up on my trade list.

Just found Borderlands (regular edition) ps3 for 4.97

They also had that X-men origins: Wolverine game ps3 for 7.97 but I didn't really get much out of the demo, so I passed on that one, I already have too many games I don't play.

SLC Utah, (downtown location)

Nice find!

Well, first Friday is quickly approaching. I'm gonna stop by in the afternoon and make sure to write out names this time, haha.

So.. I finally opened up my 360 wireless headset and the battery was completely dead and wouldn't recharge. Light wouldnt turn on when plugged in either. Had to return it, was either that or pay shipping to replace it with microsoft. I wouldn't recommend buying one as I've heard this is pretty common.

Shipping is what 5 bucks?

EDIT: Actually, what is the price at Sears now? 25? I guess that is iffy. I got mine dead one for 5 from blockbuster so I didn't get too pissed off with shipping it back.

It was $19.97 when I bought it. Shipping it to microsoft wouldn't be too bad but I'd rather save myself the hassle of having to wait 1.5-2 weeks just to get it back. Besides, the battery might die soon enough on the replacement. Maybe they fixed that for the black headset?

I get the feeling tomorrow won't be the day for drops, but I'll be checking anyway... I'm too addicted to deals not to! I'll be there when they open and will try and let people know what I find before work.

The replacement would be fine, it's just an issue that the battery sat so long without a charge it lost capacity to hold one.

I kinda hope not though as I gotta work a straight 8 so I can rehab my knee in the afternoon and by then I won't be near any Sears and will have to wait until Monday.

No luck for me today... Normally I take a giant stack of games and scan them at a price checker, but all the scanners are busted lol. So I took 5 random games to a register and had the lady scan them. One had dropped; star ocean first departure for psp went from 14.97 to 12.97. That's a little encouraging, I guess. I hope others have more luck!

I'll be checking again after work, hopefully the price checkers work then.

Have any Bay area CAGs checked out Sears lately? I'm going to be up that way (Hayward specifically) this weekend for a wedding and I'm thinking of stopping by just for the heck of it. They probably get way more traffic in their store, but I know their selection can't be nearly as bad as down here.

I work across the parking lot from the Hayward sears and check in regularly. Right now their clearance game bin seems picked dry of all the lower priced clearance games. Their clearance and lock regular games are organized apart a bit too well so their is slim chance of finding something overlooked

a few days ago they still had some clearance GPS units and one 60gb Xbox 360 hard drive from last months price drops

Just checked my local - and there's not much to report that I could see. Did manage to pickup PS3 Quantum of Solace for $4.97 (still had June $14.97 tag on the side). Scanned PS3 Madagascar 2 for the hell of it - no drop. Otherwise - nada.

All the games I checked (Uncharted 2 [vanilla], Patapon, Sports Champions, Kirby Superstar Saga, Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box, and Endless Ocean: Blue World) had only dropped $2-4.

Hmm, I'm thinking it's probably still better than my local store. I mean, it's got to be better than 50 copies of Where The Wild Things Are and Minute To Win It. Heh. Thanks for the input.

Aside from the miscellaneous price drops on past clearance items and shovelware you can find cheaper elsewhere , there are little to no new additions worth posting this month.

Just a few examples from the big list of bleh I have:

Professor Layton/Diabolical Box: 19.97
Kirby's Superstar Ultra (DS): 22.97
Pokemon Dungeon Explorer (DS): 22.97
Imagine Movie Star (DS): 22.97
Guitar Hero Warrior's of Rock PS3 Bundle: 54.97
Wii Sports Resort: 44.97
Red Steel 2 w/ Motion+ attachment: 22.97
Green Day Rock Band (Wii): 9.97
Tony Hawk Shred Bundle (Wii): 22.97
DJ Hero 2 Party Bundle (PS3): 94.97
Rock Band Beatles (PS3) Bundle: 69.97
Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock Bundle: 54.97
Guitar Hero Van Halen (PS3): 32.97
Monster Hunter Tri (game only) Wii: 22.97
TV Superstars (PS3): 12.97

Need I go on? You get the picture. A shame, too, since the past few months have been pretty stellar even beyond Sears' standards. Here's hoping you guys out there can find some YMMV deals.

I still appreciate you keeping us updated man :) If it wasn't for you I wouldn't have been able to get the awesome deals from the last two months

@Firecrest, thanks so much for the price updates. My wallet might get a break from Sears this month.

I'm still going to check the local Sears tonight. I'll post what I find later.

I got greedy last month and didn't buy my store's wii motion plus attachments for $5 thinking I'd wait for another price drop. Well someone bought them just a couple days ago, right before the drop. :(

Btw dark void for ps3 is only $3. I'm passing on that one. Let someone else play that shovelware. I have a backlog of stuff to get to and. I've learned not to buy everything.

lol i'm such a dumbass. last month the blue ps2 controller was ringing up for $3.97 but the cheapy in me didn't want to buy it that price. now the blue ps2 controller is not showing up in the system when i price scanned it. I told the worker if i can buy it at the previous price he said no and will have to send it back to the warehouse. he then proceed to the gaming aisle and grabbed the rest like 5 of them and took them to the back :(

Just got back from a Sears tour. I usually hit the 4 local Sears as they are all within a 30 min drive.

Pretty much the same feeling as everyone else.

This months drops are pretty bad an unfortunate since Sears drops were trending in a nice direction.

I scanned tons of games and the consensus is that some 9.97 went to 7.97, almost all 14.97 went to 12.97 and 24.97 to 22.97. All you really have to know.

Most of the 4.97 stuff I scanned didnt drop any. Not even 3.97 which was a bit of a letdown. I found a couple items that went from 9.97 to 4.97 like Garfield Funfest for DS but not much else. The 5.97 Advance Wars Days of Ruin for 5.97 still didnt drop. Its a good buy at 6 but as a cagger im gnna wait.

19.97 Wirless 360 mic didnt drop at all. Was hoping

Still lots of good stuff in the 20$ area that didnt drop far enough. Maybe next month.

I did grab DJ Hero 1 Bundle for PS2 7.97. It was 9.97 at the other stores. Otherwise just grabbed some ds shovelware for 2.97 and 4.97.

Surprisingly my Sears' electronic section has finally got on the ball, after many many months of being idiotic. Most stuff was actually priced correctly, and clearance sorted onto its own racks and shelves.

Didn't scan much, but didn't expect much to change. I was hoping the PS2 remote would've dropped, but it held at $2.97 and I picked it up anyway. I saw a bunch of black wireless 360 controllers priced at $19.97. I don't know if they have been that way or if it's new, but there ya go. My store had like 8 of them. They are the ones in the older packaging (smaller + plastic, not square + paper like the newer ones). Newer packaging ones were regular price.

I was just about to head over to the Hayward Southland Mall location tomorrow, thanks for saving me the trips guys. Sears in Cupertino sucks and the one in Palo Alto doesn't carry games anymore, that about sums up the Bay Area.
Sears in Cupertino sucks and the one in Palo Alto doesn't carry games anymore, that about sums up the Bay Area.
There's also a Sears by Oakridge Mall off of Blossom Hill in San Jose, CA. Then there's another Sears by Eastridge Mall off of Tully Rd in San Jose, CA. And another Sears in Newpark Mall in Newark, CA.

I think that really sums up the South Bay fairly well.

I decided to pick up their wired 360 controllers. Got tired of finding batteries and to improve input response by eliminating wireless lag. I don't know about some folks, but damn, playing on wired controllers makes a noticeable difference!! I'm gonna set aside my wireless ones for relaxed, casual, single-player games. And go full blown wired for online competitive play.

Sadly, I'll probably only have time to check one store, if that. It will most likely be the Hayward store, so hopefully I'll find something I want.

After reading all the great deals, I took a ride to my local Sears last Monday hoping to build on my game collection. They had an extra 50% table, but only had Fight Night Round 3 for the PS3 for $7.50 and NBA 2K10 for PS3 for $5. I looked in the case and noticed the "extra 33% off on all clearance items" signs. The associate informed me that anything with a pink sticker would qualify. Nothing really grabbed me, until I saw a few Nintendo 3DS systems with pink stickers. The price was $169.99. Someone pink stickered the systems by mistake when they reduced the price. Needless to say the manager was rather angry at this individual. To make matters worse, the 33% deal had expired the previous Saturday and someone forgot to take the signs down. The final price for the 3DS was $119, which includes tax.
