Official Sears Clearance Thread II - post Sears finds/deals here
Picked up a XBOX 360 Wireless N Adapter for $5.97.
though,, it did ring up for 20ish bucks at first, but they got an override to fix it.
Is this adapter better for Netflix than running a cable from a Linksys wireless adapter to the console? So sick of the buffering and speed changes when watching a movie. A guy at work suggested I should upgrade my router from a G to an N.
Checked out my local Sears today and saw nothing of interest to me really. Dead Rising 1 for Xbox for 5 bucks, everything else in the clearance area was overpriced.

What was weird was that they had a handfull of Microsoft 1600 / 4000 point cards, priced at $24.99 and $49.99 respectively, in old school clamshells. Also a bunch of 12 month XBL cards also in clamshells for $49.99. I had them scanned thinking they had to be incorrectly priced, but the priced rang up as correct.

What's weird is that they have these in the locked case, which is next to a area that has nothing but the newer cards. I would have thought these would be discounted, but the 1600 point cards are a full 5 bucks more expensive than the new ones.

Weird indeed.
That really chaps my ass that Sears can get away with selling the 1600 point cards for more than MSRP.

I did a bit of research and the only reason to go from wireless g to n was for media streaming. There was no difference in gaming online. I took it to mean it would be good for streaming my media center PC to 360, but your Internet connection would normally be the bottleneck for netflix.

You obviously haven't been to HHGregg where they charge $5 over the "suggested MSRP" for a Dual Shock 3.
That really chaps my ass that Sears can get away with selling the 1600 point cards for more than MSRP.
Well, it's just a "suggested" retail price. Manufacturers and publishers can't set retail prices because of antitrust laws, hence the MSRP loophole. In practice, retailers usually stick to MSRP to stay competitive, but they certainly don't have to if they feel they can charge more. Toys R Us, for example, often charges $63.99 for new-release games, at least here in NYC, because they get a ton of European and Asian tourists coming through ready to pay whatever since even inflated U.S. prices still often come out lower than overseas.

My cousin wanted a Wii controller for his birthday and Toys R Us was charging 21.99 for it, we went to Sears and got it for 19.99, which is the price it should be everywhere. So yes they do overcharge, this was just yesterday.

TRU is famous for overcharging on things, unless they have a sale they probably overcharge on most things, I remember when they charged $70 for some Pokemon game for the Gamecube when it was $50 everywhere (I think it was Pokemon colloseum), they also charged $50 for Pokemon Channel for the Gamecube when it was $30 everywhere. They did this because they knew soccer moms would come in who knew nothing about game prices and just buy the titles because their kids wanted them.

Kmart charged $70 for certain gamecube games like the Legend of Zelda four swords bundle and the Pokemon games I think too.

Surprisingly TRU doesn't have the $5 nintendo tax on DS titles that gamestop seems to charge.

TRU's prices on games now seem to be in line with what other stores charge, though if its not on clearance they are a bit on the high side but I haven't seen one over MSRP in a long time.
I picked up the Persona 3 Limited Edition (with soundtrack and art book) at a nearby Sears today. If anyone's interested in it send me a PM. I'd like to play it but unfortunately I need the money.
Is it still $49.99?

Anyone else finding Rage at sears? How is it? I'm really excited about it and would love to get it early/ hear reviews.

Went to the Sears Downtown Chicago near the South Loop and they had:
Xbox 360- Intercool for $3.97
Wii- Red Steel w/motion plus for $22.97

Looks like Sears is cracking down on finding clearance titles, least in my area. I can't even get Google shopping to show anything/results from my local Sears, even though I know they have a particular game in-stock. Regular retail priced games like Nintendo Selects still show up though.

Went to my local Sears in hopes of finding a Wireless N adapter for the Xbox 360. Only found an empty price peg with the current retail price of $79.99 on it. :whistle2:(

The only thing I don't like about the Nintendo Selects is the game is cropped with a red border, shrinking down the artwork. I might be being too picky, but it reminds me kind of the first batch of Platinum Hits titles for the Xbox 360, specially Assassin's Creed and Bioshock. I know, I can always print off the original artwork.

I've noticed that the searches on Google Shopping don't show up a good percentage of the time anymore for me either. I certainly hope this isn't a trend that continues, since doing a search has saved me many a mile and fruitless search before.

Even with gas having gone down $.20 some cents in the last couple of weeks it's still a pita to get all the way to a store that supposedly has something and not be able to find it.:bomb:

Sears at Capitola Ca got rid of all of their clearance games. I checked today and they had lowered what was left to .99 cents. They had a handful of barbie or something games and one flash focus. I picked up the flash focus because it has a Club Nintendo code. I wish I would have known when they lowered the games because I checked last Friday and they had lowered them to $5.

I've found late at night that sometimes the Google tracker won't pull as many items as it does during business hours. Maybe it's updating overnight.

Picked up a microsoft rechargable battery for :360: controller for only $2.97. I wasn't aware these existed. I've been to that sears many times and never saw it. Its the stand alone battery without the charge cable. Sweet find :)

Lucky, I only found a white battery with a play and charge cable for $17.97. I didn't know those existed either without the cable. Always saw official batteries packed with a cable or the quick charge kit. Was the battery an official microsoft one or something like Duracell or Energizer?

It was the official microsoft xbox 360 battery pack.

I saw a big clearance sign on the bin of games by me today. 20-60% games, which were marked with a Sept. sticker. Hopefully, the sign is still there for the next drop.

There were 4-5 wired 360 controllers on clearance for $2x.97

I FINALLY picked up a complete copy of the :ps3:Smackdown Vs. Raw 2010 that I wanted to buy a couple of months ago, but that was missing outta the case when I finally opened it.

Thanks again to SHC-Gamer for hooking me up with a $40 gc for the missing game and the hassle I received from the one manager regarding trying to return the missing game's case/artwork/manual to the store closest to me.

Has Google shopping also completely stopped displaying Blockbuster in search results? I don't see Blockbuster in a single search now. Man I used those blockbuster search results during the B1G1.

google product search just has wal mart and gamestop for me :\ , half the time it says "call for price\availability", smh.

I loved using that too. It you add "at sears" or "sears" after the title it sometimes works

I clearly remembered buying Singularity for 5 bucks. But today I went to another store and the price is back to $29.97. I did have the associate scanned the price. WTH, has anyone seen the clearance item price jumped back?

I can give some feedback on RAGE. I semi rushed threw it, about to start the last mission, took about 10 hrs so far i am gonna say 11-12hrs. campaign. Decent amount of other stuff to do, Races, Games, Side Missions...etc.
Things Look Great. But there are some funny things to dead enemies disappear, People always stay in the same place, You can't pick up enemy weapons, some enemies take ALOT of bullets to kill.
Driving feels OKAY. Environment Isn't huge(think borderlands). Mission structure is: go here get this, go here do this....etc.The characters are Forgettable. But the Game play is rewarding and fun. Though i see the whole game, if you talked to everyone and did every mission you could find, taking less then 20hrs. that may be a lil longer with the wasteland sewer missions included with new copies of the game. (haven't tried any of those yet)
My thoughts are It would be a great game for the $40-ish range. I played this on
iconps3.gif
and finally tonight my trophies will sync again they haven't synced since i bought the game on 9-23-11. Hope that helps!

I've got a list of stuff I've been watching monthly on google shopping. I'd say 90% of that doesn't show up at all anymore and the 10% that does show up is sold out at Sears. Some one must have gone to my Sears and cleared out the garbage I didn't want to touch - not that I care about that stuff but I sure would like to know if the stuff I care about is sold out or not...and not to mention the price. Are we going to have to start traveling to Sears to price check again? :(

edit:
You can still get some information by searching for the name of a console such as "Playstation 3", "Xbox 360", etc. Then once you do that, look at the list on the left that says "any store". Chose Sears on that list. Then sort the search list from lowest price to highest. This is nowhere near as good as Google Shopping used to be though. Most of the stuff that shows up at my Sears is full price although a couple of clearance items did show up.

found a real good deal at my local sears today, an old fashion bubble packed 1600 MS points card, being many places have clearanced these old fashion packages I took it to the closer scanner with a big grin on my face. Then to my surprise it rang up $24.99!!!!! WTF:censored:!?!?! lol... I decided to leave it there...:shame:Shame on you Sears for giving up my hopes:shame:

The one further off Sears I stopped at yesterday must've had a hoarder run through it since all SIX of the :360:60gb HDD kits that were there last month were long gone this month.

The XBLA/360 controller packs were still there, but now not only were they marked with the $19.97 price stickers but so was most everything else.:bomb:

I guess the employees musta got yelled at again for not marking stuff and decided to do their jobs.

I watched at least 30-40 of the 19.97 Xbox wireless headsets disappear from a nearby store, no idea what happened to them or if they moved them to another Sears, but it seems unlikely a hoarder would buy all that especially since its not even that great of a price. So I have a suspicion that sears is definitely moving around clearance items.
No october updates here unless I just stopped in too early today, I might try again next week.
The drops will probably be on Friday

For the previous 2 months the drop has been implemented on the first sunday of the month here, I actually saw the lady marking down the prices myself first hand. But I guess it can vary by month, or that she hadn't got to it yet when I was in Sears. Friday sounds reasonable.

Yeah its getting dangerously close to XMas, there are some games at Sears here that I would like to see drop in price, and pretty much all the clearance stuff will probably be gone the first week of November at least here since if the general public sees clearance they will automatically buy, we don't have much time before then to get our clearance goods.

Just a heads up guys. Everyone orobably knows Sears isn't selling movies anymore. My local store has a tn of blurays still. I asked to get the pricing on a few and the rep tells me that most of the movies are not in the system anymore. I asked how can I buy them and how much are they. He left for approximately 11 minutes, I timed it because I called s friend and chatted while I waited. He came back and said that even though there is a clearance discount movies, they are to be sold at full price. I jokingly asked that since they aren't in inventory technically they don't exist, and if someone decided to walk out with a handful they would never know. He smiled and said tha is true, and now that they know of this, they're going to be "sent back". I take that as the employee will be "taking them back" to his home.

The Niagara Falls Blvd Mall store drops on Fridays. I worked there last year and know the system like clockwork.

I love the Niagra Blvd Sears. I don't go there often but that's where I got a 360 HD DVD drive for $50,
A PS2 Guitar Hero Aerosmith Guitar Bundle for $1.97, and most recently (about a year ago) Pokemon Emerald for $4.97.

I'm predicting another $1-2 drop, which will continue every month until one month in Spring/Summer 2012 where we get another big $10 drop to get everyone's hopes up.

All of this has happened before and all of this will happen again.

Hey irishsoccermbw,

Could you give me any info on what camera you saw on clearance? I'm looking to find a cheap one for my 6 year old before he breaks mine :D

Thanks!
There is a camera on clearance I've been looking at...I'm all but praying it drops again tomorrow.
Anyone have any suggestions on what games I should scan? I'm not working this week so I can swing by this morning and scan a few things but I don't even recall what I was interested in (besides random printers) anymore.

hey guys, the sears here sucks ass (nothing good on clearance) and I've been wanting to get in on that 60 GB xbox live starter pack for $20. Anyone here willing to sell theirs? I could really use the 60 GB HDD...send me a PM, thanks.

I love me some BSG but shit gotta have some faith.

Now watch as it's all a bunch of shit.

Ok guys I'm sitting in the food court at the mall (for whatever reason stores here open at 10) if you have a couple of games you want scanned at opening (22 minutes here) I'd be happy to oblige.

Curious if Professor Layton and the Diaboloical Box for DS has dropped any further from the current $19.97 or so price. If you can find one to scan, I'd be interested in what the new price is (if it has changed).

Thanx
