Official Sears Clearance Thread II - post Sears finds/deals here

So just so you guys know I haven't been posting clearance lists because I am no longer a Sears employee... and I would recommend future Sears employees avoid doing the same thing I did posting clearance prices ahead of time.

Look at the bright side, we may not have Sears Clearance any longer, but at least we no longer have to put up with Ralph Wiggum nose-picking avatars and obsessions with tinfoil hats.

How dare you try to bring in potential customers. :roll: If they really did let you go for that, I say good riddance. You were advertising prices that shouldn't even be a secret that would help them get rid of clearance inventory- for free, nonetheless. You would have probably even helped them clear more of it out before they got super-reduced. If it were me, I would have raised hell over it and threatened to sue their asses for wrongful termination or something. That's bullshit.

You have to be careful what information you post online I guess, I would have thought CAG might offer some level of security. Any idea how they figured out you were posting stuff here?

All they would have to say he was doing was sharing company pricing with competitors which is usually a no no and what kind of case would he have??

You should let SHC-Gamer over in the K-Mart thread know what happened. He gave the ok for K-Mart employees to post clearance lists over there (and even posts lists himself sometimes), and I believe I remember him saying that he handles both stores, so it's weird that posting the Sears lists wouldn't be ok. Hard to say if he'd be able to do anything for you or not at this point, but it couldn't hurt to try.

All in all this guy is better off not working for Sears theres no future in it and hes wasting time he could be investing into a better job that will turn into something.

The firing really blows, sorry to hear that and thanks for your postings in the past. Sears/kmart are gonna join circuit city in a year or so anways...at least they are gonna last longer than blockbuster lol
 
I'm disappointed, I felt like he was our moral compass. If Confoosious was doing it (publicly) everything was okay, but if he was doing it privately or speaking out against you knew it was wrong. Now CAG is going to run amuck with depraved souls who are not gamers and by that virtue should not be profiting off gaming.

If he had quit on his own terms, I'd agree, but in this economy, a job is a job, and it sucks to lose one no matter what it is because it may not be easy to find another. Also, losing it for something like this possibly makes it hard for him to get a good reference for his next potential employer. At the very least, even if he can't get or doesn't want the Sears job back, he should still try to get the black mark cleared off his employment record.

Isnt it illegal to slander a former employee if said future employer calls to check a reference?
If they say something like oh we let him go because he posted some clearance prices on an internet forum they are going to look like total ass clowns..

Yes, but that's not what they would say, and it's not slander if the information is true and they have the documentation to back it up. What they would say would be something along the lines of that they let him go for publicly posting internal corporate data on the internet without authorization. They don't have to say what the information was or where he posted it. If you think that potential future employers won't take that seriously, you're deluded.
 
Sorry didn't mean to start a debate. Sucks to lose a job but the looks of things the electronics department is going bye-bye at Sears anyways. It costs the company money to run the electronics department, they're dropping merchandise left and right and not filling the holes they created with anything new. I'd say once 2010 sales figures are finalized electronics will be phased out at all Sears stores.

And from what I understand Sears has no problem with people posting clearance lists, it is ahead of time that is the problem.

And Derrick is right, as a former Assistant Manager at an apparel store I can tell you the two questions you can answer when an employer calls "From what time to what time did this employee work there?" and "Are they filed as rehire-able?" Getting fired obviously you would not be rehire-able but there are many reasons besides getting fired that you would be not rehire-able.

^ LOL, wow...the one person i can't stand on CAG was finally banned! About time...dude was a A-hole. Now on the other hand i know IATCG probably gets on your nerves too, but the difference is IATCG is very opinionated and is not afraid to show it. Confoosious was just a A-hole who thought he was better than everyone else.

Worst case is this thread will go back to the way it used to be with people going to stores on a scanning spree and reporting finds back... It wa slike this before and it worked better for more people being able to get on the deals.
Granted it was nice to know in advance at times with certain titles but on the other hand with limited stock in each store this was just handing games to El Hoardo and crew without making them do any work.. Made getting on a deal pretty much being there at store open or you missed out..

Well I guess It's a legit reason to fire someone over, but did you at least get warned once before it happened?

While it may be a legitimate reason for termination, the painful irony to me is that Sears punishes/fires those who pay attention to price changes and know what's going on in their department while keeping the unhelpful and uninformed employees on the payroll.

picked up chaotic shadow warriors wii for 3 bucks and guitar hero world tour xbox 360 for 2.50 and bakugan battle brawlers for 4.97

Yeah I've heard some hiring professionals say that for men, employers will think you were in prison if you have a larger unaccounted blank spot on your resume.

According to some articles I read, some places won't even hire you unless you currently have a job. Now what the fuck would I need another job for(unless it was lower paying and the new one was higher paying)if I'm already employed? :roll:

Ubisoft... why I won't buy AC brotherhood til it's at least 20new. I didn't work for 2 years and I was getting my degree and my current boss didn't believe me. I work/study my whole life and always have been in school except for the last year since I graduated. I'm lucky that I have my education all paid off, but that's cuz I was going to class 7-1 then work 1-9 then game 9-midnite. lol. ;) Keep me busy and out of trouble since i was a kid ;)

It was definitely YMMV. The associate said that they clear out the game cases for new stuff 'about twice a year'. I checked two other stores in the area and didn't see anything similar. In fact, I saw many of the games I bought at full price.

They still have plenty of games for regular price and the associate said this is a normal removal of older merchandise.
