Official Sears Clearance Thread II - post Sears finds/deals here

Can anyone elaborate on why it is OK to buy Sears clearance games only to trade them to GS for more expensive games, but the guy who wants to buy games to save a few bucks on diapers is mocked? I am pretty sure that most of us are just cheap asses who happen to be gamers, there are those of us that are dads, and those of us who aren't. I say more power to him, diapers are fuckin' expensive.

Well, if the guy took the initiative instead of mooching off the forums, then more power to him. But he was essentially asking other CAGs for help to acquire information that may or may not aid him in acquiring more diapers.

It was the 1st friday of the last month, so I'm assuming it will be the 1st Friday this month as well (July 2nd)
 
Ok thats what I thought, and it's what I'm hoping for because I've got tomorrow off so I'll be there at 9am sharp. I just hope it drops cause I'm ready and pumped! :)

Back in April, the first Friday of the month was the 2nd but the drop didnt happen til the 9th. Since this month is the same situation, the drop may not be til the 9th.

lol...no offense to anyone who might get offended, but why does everyone freak out when its comes close to the 1st or 2nd friday of every month??

I don't know if anybody's freaking out but if they are I can't blame them. Sears has the best clearances by far and it's understandable that people would be excited.
 
I think the drop might be July 9th

Just a hunch. Usually the our work hand scanner tells us the promo date. I scanned 15 games today and no promo option came up. USually the promo option says the new price along with the date it will drop. Last month it appeared on there a couple days before the drop... This is the evidence I have.

I open in the morning so if I have a drop list waiting for me then there is a drop. However if not its the 9th.

I'm still going to check my local sears at 9, but yeah my hopes aren't very high right now. Oh well at least I have NEXT friday off too, so its not a total loss. :/ Guess I'll find out in a couple hours.
 
Of course I forgot my wallet today and was planning to check Sears after work. I have a little bit of cash so on my way home f/ work I'm going to still check and report if the drops have gone though. My Sears is already pretty picked over but I might be able to find something new.
 
Ahh... I'm ready!

I will go to Sears after work... but I have to drive like 40 minutes to get there... so, if anyone can confirm if the new clearence prices start today, I would appreciate that.
 
I'm putting odds on next Friday, but I'll try and check tonight after work to be safe. My store is usually a couple days (weeks) behind, anyways. So I'll probably check again at the beginning of next week, too.
 
Awwww just scanned a handful of games; same price as june. Bleh nothing until next week I suppose. Ah well, expected but still dissapointing.

I had the best hual I ever had today from Sears eventhough I only spent $6.15 today. I got Metroid Prime Trilogy for $4.97 and Hot Shots Golf for $.97.

One of my local Sears has 2 copies of it, along with one hidden copy of the Star Wars Clone Wars Republic Heroes game for PS3. If either drop to $4.97 or so(VP: TIP was $9.97 last I checked)I'll let those of you know who want a copy if I grab one or both.:D
 
Really wish I could get in on these deals. Every game I would want is kept behind glass, and the associates never scan the things I want. They just tell me that the price that the sticker says, is the official price.

Shame.
 
^^ You need to just print out UPCs and scan them at the self price checker because most Sears employees are too busy chatting or watching TV >:/

Even if it does I don't think the Sears scanners will be able to pick them up. A few months back I was at one with my friend. He went to the UPC database website on his iphone, found the UPC for the game he was looking for but it just wouldn't scan.

I really need to start doing this. I am getting so sick of the (non-electronics) employees looking at me like I am a thief (and sometimes stopping me, asking if "I need help" (loss prevention)) just because I am carrying a huge stack of games over to the price scanner in the clothing department because the electronics department has no scanner. :shame:
 
I've also tried doing barcodes on my iPhone, and no scanner I've tried can read the screen. Definitely a shame, I hate wasting the paper.

I've picked up a number of games from the list recently :)360: Wet and Dirt 2 for $10, Nascar 09 for $3, etc.) but nothing new or unexpected. The variations I see are weird-- one store will have games at $4.97, another will have $2.97, and another will have no sale at all.

I was really hoping to bag FFIV, but that seems long gone in my area. Oh well, looking forward to next Friday's drop.
 
My Sears used to be awesome with this but about 2 years ago they stopped cutting prices that low. One day I bought two games for $10.
 
Persona 3 FES never dropped past $29.99, eh? Saw a bunch at a store today, got all excited but it was full price. I hate that they put clearance stickers on stuff thats full price.

1. Go to half.com and search for your game and copy the UPC under "best price/list price"

2. go to http://www.upcdatabase.com/itemform.asp and paste it in the box, click on "look up upc"

then the upc comes up, most popular upcs are already labeled, copy paste the upc in word or what not

There is no list, just small batches of updates throughout the entire thread. It is better that way though, less hoarders/flippers. It is actually possible to find some cheap games at Sears (unlike some of the other stores on these forums with updated lists on the front page).

That's when you ask for a manager and have them come over and do the other employees jobs. Make sure to tell said manager that the employees told you the 'item is as marked' and that you heard it might be on sale.

Of course if you have one of the Sears stores that never frickin' updates to the new lower prices you may look like an idiot when they price check them and they come up MSRP.:cry:

But you take that chance for the opportunity of getting clearance games.

trust me, one of the cons of working retail is hearing the same dam song over and over......and over, playing at a store i use to work in, still to this day when i here the backstreet boys "i want it that way", oh man, it reminds me of hell :wall:
