Edit by Io - The most recent (1/26) drops are in the very beginning of the second post, so look there first!

------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT -- Feb 4th
Things have changed drastically since I started this thread and I've gone from a quality control monitoring job with other duties thrown in to monitoring double the amount plus the work of others. Bascially, I now do the job of three comparing the company now to that of a year ago thanks to layoffs and not hiring to replce people leaving. Plus I generally work 6 days a week and often ten hours with no break. I'd quit, but I have a hunch that our department will be hubbed in another city around July and I might as well hang in for the layoff package. Basically, this means I have zero time for internet and thread managing the way it should be done. My trade list and pm box fall by the wayside and I hardly email or even check my facebook/myspace. I didn't even find time to manage my fantasy football team and will completely forego baseball.

I know IO is busy enough as it is with a couple of threads, but if anyone wants to take over this thread and start a new one, please do so. Of course, I should have all the time in the world to keep it up to date if you want to wait unitl around July.

I got tired of going to TRU for the most recent clearance drops only to find more here on CAG from one of the three threads after I got back from the store. So I've compiled a list from the posts of Starving Gamer, Benboxer, life.exe, cmosfm, Kevzik's pics of lists at his store, the lists I saw at local TRUs and the many posts of awesome CAGs in those threads. I am by no means associated with TRU and I don't have inside information on upcoming drops, but I wanted to post a consolidated list to help other CAGs. As new drops occur Benboxer, Starving Gamer and anyone else is welcome to post new lists here and/or in seperate threads for more attention for the new items and I'll update the OP for total lists. Please keep in mind that some of these games are YMMV on price and as with all ongoing clearances availability is always YMMV as well. Most 9.90, 5.00 and 3.00 games are from the recent drop of a couple weeks ago. Thanks again for everyone's contributions and especially those early lists. I wanted to get this up and running and will do some tidying to the list as necessary. I'm not familiar with every game on the list so feel free to post or pm inconsistencies in titles!

NEW PLEASE READ SEE POST #2 FOR LATEST DROPS
A few things about pricing. All of the last round of drops are 9.90, 5.00, or 3.00. A lot of the 9.90 games were 19.98 before, most of the 5.00 were 9.98 and most of the 3.00 were 5.00. So if you see a game that is 19.98, chances are it may drop to 9.90 next drop which will probably be in a few months. As with any clearance a lot of these games may have been sold out at your store before they were even clearanced and now that the latest drop has been at least a month those games may be hard to find now, too. I do still see several 19.98 some 9.90 and some 5 & 3 games in this area. Don't forget to check the glass case and you can ask if a game is in back as sometimes this is the case.

Don't forget to post your trade wishes and wants in the Official TRU Trading Thread: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=121672

READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE CHECKING THE LIST
Games in blue are from the latest drop, most of which were on clearance already at higher price points.
Games in green are VERY RARE games from the latest drop that were originally shipped to stores in VERY LIMITED quantities when the game was released and only a very few CAGs have found these.
Games in Yellow are have been widely reported as YMMV as pertains to price point.
Games in Orange are new reports that are awaiting confirmation
If it helps, I've done a price adjustment w/ only a receipt at TRU before. I'll be going by today to do the same.
Yeah, I asked last night and was told I'd only need the receipt. The clerk at TRU and I have become friends over the last couple of months. :p I was taken aback last night when he recognized me and asked how I'd been and if I was back for more games. He even noticed I neglected to bring a list this time and offered to scan any items I needed before I had even picked up a game.

Well I called this morning and they did indeed confirm the 20% off all clearance games and also said all you needed to do was bring in your reciept to get the adjustment.

Good News. I'll take my receipt up there today. If the lady manager or CS person is giving me problems I just need to turn on the charm. That usually works ;)

Went to the Sunnyvale Toys R Us yesterday, had the following in a clearance bin in front of the video game section.

Elite Beat Agents $9.98
Jeanne D'Arc $9.98
Parappa the Rapper (PSP) $9.98
Forza 2 $9.98
Stranglehold (360) $9.98

Thanks! I'll swing by TRU tomorrow.

would they do it if i bought the games at a different TRU location? its alot farther than my local one.

anything else interesting?

My toys r us (which had absolutely worth mentioning) didn't have a single sign about this sale. Is it an unadvertised thing?

Hey are the 360 DVD remotes on clearance too? I must have missed that entirely, I could use one of those.

Grabbed Forza 2 and a Stranglehold, figured they were worth the $10 apiece.
Hey are the 360 DVD remotes on clearance too? I must have missed that entirely, I could use one of those.
Yes. I saw them at my TRU. Not sure of the price though.
Yes. I saw them at my TRU. Not sure of the price though.
i actually picked up a Nyko brand 360/universal remote for $4.22 at TrU today. That was after 6% tax.
Not sure if this has been covered, but a few of the games are on toysrus.com, w/ free shipping (if you use billmelater):

Blue Dragon's there for $9.98. Contra DS is there for $19.98...a few others.....
Contra 4 is 19.99 NOT 19.98... makes a big difference because it is NOT a clearance game, however it is still part of the B2G1 DS games offer

Havent seen a post yet about the price adjusting so wanted to let you guys know about my 2 trips to 2 TRU's at lunch today. I was able to get the 20% price adj but it only applies games ending in clearance prices, ie .98 cents.. Not one of the $5 titles would ring up under the 20% off clearance so they would not price adj all the PS3, 360, PS2 or Wii games that I got Tuesday and Wednesday at $5, but all of the $9.98 were able to be price adj.

I got a few more copies of Splinter Cell for the PS3 and then a few more Monkey Ball and F4 for the Wii and they rang up at $5.00 ( no 20%) and then the few copies of Harry Potter and Oblivion I got for the PS3 came up to 7.98 each

D'oh! That sucks - everything I bought Wednesday (and hoped to adjust today) was $5. What, $5 games aren't clearance?

By all means still give your store a call and ask, who knows, you might get lucky.

Well, I'm going to another one today, anyway, so I'll bring the receipt and games with me and see what happens. I look forward to the confusion ;).

My Toys R Us also had some DS games in the "instant Christmas present" packaging (like the PS2 titles) that were ringing up for $5 each too. A lot of good games in there..
so what are the new prices with the extra clearance adjust?
games that were $9.98 are now ringing up at 7.98. All the $5.00 games are still ringing up @ $5.00, at least at the 2 toysrus here in jacksonville, Fl

Like what? ;)

not all that great, but picked up these titles, all prices were $4.22 each ($5 + 20% off):

XBOX
Scarface
Halo
Timesplitters Future Perfect

OK, here's my lunchtime trip. I went with receipts only. Had two receipts from two different TRUs. Took care of both of them at one TRU (to answer that earlier question)

Problems I had:
 • The B2G1F DS deal seemed to cause a problem...either it was because it was $5 even or because there were two of the same game on the receipt...both $5, but one was the free copy. So I couldn't adjust the one I paid for because the system kept seeing the free one.
 • My second receipt had Spinter Cell Wii on it which had already been adjusted to $5 from $9.98. The clerk had told me it was $5, then it rang up for $9.98...he commented that that was weird, it should be $5, and adjusted it for me. So, since it had already been adjusted, no more adjustments were allowed on that title...they couldn't take another 20% off the already 50% off price, thought they tried. The system wouldn't allow it.
The second receipt also had SMB Banana Blitz on it for $5 even. I had no problem getting that one adjusted, which is why I think the issue w/ the 2 $5 Jam Sessions was because one had already been adjusted...and no further adjustments were allowed on the free copy, so it didn't allow it on the one I payed for either.

So here's how everything ended up (before tax):

Jam Sessions [DS] $5.00 (couldn't adjust)
Jam Sessions [DS] $0.00 (B2G1F)
Children of Mana [DS] $9.98 $7.98 (got back $2)
SMB Banana Blitz [Wii] $5.00 $4.00 (got back $1)
The Godfather [Wii] $9.98 $7.98 (got back $2)
Splinter Cell: Double Agent [Wii] $5.00 (couldn't adjust)

Total spent for all 6 games: ~$30 + tax
It turns out they actually had all the games stuffed into a tiny bin (much like gantt described - acres of empty space in the RZone but they use this tiny bin for the clearance stuff ). Well, on the bottom row (of 3) I found SMB.
If they actually had *rows* of games in the bin, it's a lot better than what I saw. I can deal with multiple levels of games stacked vertically, as CC often does in their bins. Nope, the TRUs I've been in just have all the games jumbled any which way, as if the employees were practicing their 3-point shot by tossing them in from across the room.
That being said, FarCry's manual smells like lemons.
Lol. Is this a new (or old) addiction that I am unaware of? Videogame manual sniffing?
D'oh! That sucks - everything I bought Wednesday (and hoped to adjust today) was $5. What, $5 games aren't clearance?
I got some $5 games today with 20% off (making it $4 plus tax). I was buying them, not price-adjusting, though.
 This is the correct answer.

The laziness of some people astounds me.
Or could it be the level of intelligence?

Either way, if the price of the game is X, do this:

X * .8 = Price after discount
Lol. Is this a new (or old) addiction that I am unaware of? Videogame manual sniffing?
OK, off-topic, but this is a real addiction! My wife sniffs books...loves the smell of a new book. She can't pick up a book w/o sniffing it. Something about the paper and the ink... And she has friends who do the same...and they compare notes. "Have you ever smelt a vintage Jane Austen?"

Try googling 'book sniffing' some time...

Anyway...continue, please.

I'm not an expert sniffer like this, but if it makes anyone feel better I used to love the smell of a newly opened booster pack of Magic: The Gathering cards. In fact, I still hold the belief that the scent is some form of mild narcotic which is why people get hooked and continue to buy them. :p

Scored gran tusimo4 for $4.28. Sly cooper 2 was still 12.xx for some reason.. And got 3 wii super monkey ball for the , 360 far cry, 2 wii fantastic4 RSS for flipping purposes.

Does anyone know when this 20% off deal ends?

I know I supposedly have 14 days to price adjust the games I bought earlier this week, but I assume I have to go while the 20% of deal is in effect - so if it's today only, or ends next Friday, then 14 days will be too late. TRU isn't close, otherwise I'd go today.
Lol. Is this a new (or old) addiction that I am unaware of? Videogame manual sniffing?

I'll have you know this manual had an overbearing, "scent-from-holding-it-close-enough-to-read" sort of strength to it.

In Ocala, FL,

They had zero of the PS3 games and only a few of the PS2 games. No DDR2.

The only Wii title I recognized was Trauma Center for $9.99

I dont know if this one was mentioned but Elebits on the Wii is $9.98 and would be $7.98 with the new discount.. is that thing worth picking up?

I went to my local tru for additional 20% off on clearance games. Went for monkeyball for wii which was 5bucks but it did not take additinal 20% off. Anyone else had a same problem?
I went to my local tru for additional 20% off on clearance games. Went for monkeyball for wii which was 5bucks but it did not take additinal 20% off. Anyone else had a same problem?
thats what people are saying.. the games getting the 20% off end in .98

and that seems to be the deal.. i bought a 360 remote for 4.98, rang up $4.00... bought Jam Sessions for $5.. rang up $5

I'm going to have to own up to this one too -- I love the smell of a new, freshly opened videogame. There's just nothing better to me, except for a fresh can of Ranch Pringles..

Picked up GRAW2 (PS3) for $5! Best deal I've gotten at TRU yet.

Also, I love the smell of M:tG cards and videogame manuals. Then again, I work as a designer and I get to smell this stuff pretty often, so I think I might have gotten addicted. :X

Have controllers gone on clearance at TRU lately? I just realized I need to pick up one of those limited edition pink ones -- or if someone has one/knows where to get one cheap/wants to sell me one?

Jay

Oh dear. What have we exposed here?
Just wait until Jack Thompson and Hillary get wind of this... (pun intended)

I also love the smell of an old, used comic book. There's just something about the smell of aged newsprint that really gets my motor going. And while we're exposing dirty fetishes, I hear Howie Mandell is an avid shaver of almost all of his body hair.

Crazy? Sure, but isn't the alternative that much more disappointing?

The Pink one is 44.98, so like 36 bucks with 20% off. I didnt know they were limited edition though.

I got Prey and Splinter Cell for about 9 total and flipped them at GS and got about 16. Not bad, got near double.
