Edit by Io - The most recent (1/26) drops are in the very beginning of the second post, so look there first!

------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT -- Feb 4th
Things have changed drastically since I started this thread and I've gone from a quality control monitoring job with other duties thrown in to monitoring double the amount plus the work of others. Bascially, I now do the job of three comparing the company now to that of a year ago thanks to layoffs and not hiring to replce people leaving. Plus I generally work 6 days a week and often ten hours with no break. I'd quit, but I have a hunch that our department will be hubbed in another city around July and I might as well hang in for the layoff package. Basically, this means I have zero time for internet and thread managing the way it should be done. My trade list and pm box fall by the wayside and I hardly email or even check my facebook/myspace. I didn't even find time to manage my fantasy football team and will completely forego baseball.

I know IO is busy enough as it is with a couple of threads, but if anyone wants to take over this thread and start a new one, please do so. Of course, I should have all the time in the world to keep it up to date if you want to wait unitl around July.

I got tired of going to TRU for the most recent clearance drops only to find more here on CAG from one of the three threads after I got back from the store. So I've compiled a list from the posts of Starving Gamer, Benboxer, life.exe, cmosfm, Kevzik's pics of lists at his store, the lists I saw at local TRUs and the many posts of awesome CAGs in those threads. I am by no means associated with TRU and I don't have inside information on upcoming drops, but I wanted to post a consolidated list to help other CAGs. As new drops occur Benboxer, Starving Gamer and anyone else is welcome to post new lists here and/or in seperate threads for more attention for the new items and I'll update the OP for total lists. Please keep in mind that some of these games are YMMV on price and as with all ongoing clearances availability is always YMMV as well. Most 9.90, 5.00 and 3.00 games are from the recent drop of a couple weeks ago. Thanks again for everyone's contributions and especially those early lists. I wanted to get this up and running and will do some tidying to the list as necessary. I'm not familiar with every game on the list so feel free to post or pm inconsistencies in titles!

NEW PLEASE READ SEE POST #2 FOR LATEST DROPS
A few things about pricing. All of the last round of drops are 9.90, 5.00, or 3.00. A lot of the 9.90 games were 19.98 before, most of the 5.00 were 9.98 and most of the 3.00 were 5.00. So if you see a game that is 19.98, chances are it may drop to 9.90 next drop which will probably be in a few months. As with any clearance a lot of these games may have been sold out at your store before they were even clearanced and now that the latest drop has been at least a month those games may be hard to find now, too. I do still see several 19.98 some 9.90 and some 5 & 3 games in this area. Don't forget to check the glass case and you can ask if a game is in back as sometimes this is the case.

Don't forget to post your trade wishes and wants in the Official TRU Trading Thread: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=121672

READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE CHECKING THE LIST
Games in blue are from the latest drop, most of which were on clearance already at higher price points.
Games in green are VERY RARE games from the latest drop that were originally shipped to stores in VERY LIMITED quantities when the game was released and only a very few CAGs have found these.
Games in Yellow are have been widely reported as YMMV as pertains to price point.
Games in Orange are new reports that are awaiting confirmation
anyone had luck finding that 360 controller?
no not at all!!! my tru had at least 5-10 pink ones for $44.98 about a month ago and i kept checking any price drops every couple of weeks for like 6 months but nothing would drop and i go in yesterday to see if they drop the price and there were none to be found... something shady is going on at my toys

Thanks for the list. Grabbed Days of Ruin at the Times Square store. They had a ton of Nights, but not much else. Was really hoping for a Fire Emblem.

I too had seen like 20ish pink controllers maybe 3 weeks ago and was surprised to see them gone. Might check out the LIC TRU if I have a chance tomorrow.

let me know what you find. i checked both the Danbury, CT and the Whitestone locations with no luck.

Anyone think I've got a shot at finding Okami for 9.XX? I've never investigated TRU clearance, but i've been waiting for a good deal on this game for a little while now.

How is advance war ds?

I saw bunch of nights and AW. More than enough to wait for next drop for 5 buck nights and 10 bucks AW.

I'm was hoping to find no more hero and mass effect but didn't .

Also, one GH aerosmith bunlde on ps3 coated 35 bucks. To me, that's a
Very good deal. Ps2 version rang up 30buvks.

So the GH:A bundle was leaking something on some cash?
Picked up Orange Box 360 9.99, no go on No More Heroes though.
Wait! The 360 version of Orange Box is also $9.98???

Which system?

okami :ps2: has been on clearance for over a year by now.

In addition to that, when it was first noted that it went on clearance, I went to 4 or 5 TRUs in different parts of the state and called others and none of them had a copy and some never even heard of it. This was for the original PS2 version.

Yeah i'm a noobie to cag and even moreso to TRU clearance. One of these days I'll find a good deal on it. Stupid Gamestop is selling it $20 new and $18 used. What a joke.

I went to my local tru and called around on Saturday to see if anyone had the pink 360 controller in stock and all the places only had white...

can anybody pick me up a copy of :psp: Castlevania for $5? I checked my local TRU earlier and they really didn't have too much, picked up a copy of Nights. I can pay through paypal to have it shipped to me and i'll even add a few extra bucks for your time.. pm me if you can thanks

No joy at the Toys R Us near me. The discount bin was as miserable as you might expect. Gems like the 'Friends' and 'American Idol' games for the PS2 mostly.

The only PS3 games were The Golden Compass, some lame basketball game and Sonic The Hedgehog. Maybe 1 or 2 360 games, though I'd never heard of them.

Nothing of worth. Damn.

I was really hoping to get The Orange Box for PS3.

Don't bother with the LIC ToysRus. Unless of course, you only want Days of Ruin or Wii Nights.
Btw PS3 Rock Band 2 Bundle was on clearance for around $120-$130. Can't remember exact price probably ymmv though.
I highly doubt they're clearancing a game that only came out a few months ago.

my toys r us still had orange box in the usual ticket bins where you had to go to the front and it was priced at 29.99, i tried to scan the ticket to see if it was adjusted but it wouldn't work, i couldn't find anyone to ask and didn't feel like walking up to the front to ask so i just walked out instead, i'll check back a little bit later as they still had a good 4 or 5 tickets

Here's what I saw in a Pensacola TRU

Hardware & Acc.
071814 PS2 Controller $24.99 - $14.98
625879 PS2 Gray Controller $24.99 - $14.98

Games

Nintendo DS
042853 Top Spin 3 19.99 - 9.98
119448 Code Lyoko Fall Of Xana 19.99 - 9.98

PSP
872994 Alien Syndrome 19.98 - 9.98

360
030584 NBA Ballerz 19.99 - 9.98
364652 Avatar Burning Earth 19.99 - 9.98
436316 Mass Effect 19.99 - 9.98

PS2
953738 Jumper 19.99 - 9.98
Fatal Fury Battle Archives 2 $9.90

Wii
431732 Nights 19.99 - 9.98

PS3
427891 Golden Compass 19.99 - 9.98

I'll also second that I saw the PS3 GH Aerosmith bundle for $35, and PS3 GHIII for $50. I think there were other markdowns I didn't take notice of though.
I also was able to find a Mass Effect 360 disc for 9.98. What is it about the game that people like? Never played it so I didn't pick it up:roll:.
Well, now, that's an odd bit of reasoning there. If I didn't pick up games I haven't played before I wouldn't have a very big collection ;).

I played it all the way through (2 3/4 times - need to finish that insane difficulty playthrough since I'm most of the way through it but it's been a while). It is a decent RPG-lite with shooter elements. I don't think it's as great as everyone thought it was at first, but it is well worth $9.98!

I will say it's good enough that when Blockbuster had the B1G1 sale I ended up getting an extra copy just for the hell of it (since it was just $7.50 - used though). I'm not sure why, I just felt I couldn't pass that up!

Worth $19.99?? I bought mine a couple of weeks back at BB and havent played it yet. I am slowly turning into who has a bunch of games that are sealed that im waiting to play once I finish the others.

Checked the TRU in Yorktown Heights, NY and in Poughkeepsie, NY and came up with nothing from my want list.

I was looking for the Orange Box for PS3 for my brother and only found a TON of 360 copies. Was also hoping to get the Family Guy game for PSP, The Darkness for PS3, or Frontlines for 360. No go, unfortunately.

If you enjoyed Fallout 3 then you'll probably like Mass Effect.

I'm right there with you. The Target clearance thread has almost bankrupted me and I probably have 25-30 unopened games. Mass Effect was worth full price.

Haha, good to know. I loved Fallout 3.....I actually beat the DLC that came out today. Downloaded it in the morning, and finished it late afternoon.
Checked the TRU in Yorktown Heights, NY
i went to this location several times earlier last year and the year before. found ALOT of goodies :) ...

Bullshit. Nothing alike. Mass Effect is an extremely clunky game, with poor inventory management, worthless skills, terribad vehicle driving sections, and fairly bad combat. Fallout 3 is fairly solid. I also must say, Fallout 3 had a much more interesting story. :/

Honestly, I never figured out why anyone loved Mass Effect other than it said "Bioware" on the box.

If the game is not marked down on the tag could it still ring up at the lower price? Is it worth asking the employees to check?

add Unreal Tournament III for PS3 to the $9.98 list. I picked up one of 3 copies at my Toys R Us for $7.99 after the 20% off members coupon valid only tonight.

Found one not on the list (I don't think) -- Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights (at least the 360 version) is $5. I didn't see a PS3 copy to check. I know it's not too great of a game but I love racing games and liked the demo for this a bit.

Also picked up PS3 Orange Box, Fire Emblem Wii (not sure about this but I am thinking Fire Emblem games tend to be very, very hard to find?), and Alien Syndrome PSP.

The games at my local TRU are a disaster area (to put it mildly)-- they're just kinda up on shelves, in no order, with no prices, very few dividers, games all shuffled up so you have to dig though every clump to find out what treasure lies beneath that copy of Ben 10. They will automatically scan at the correct price-- so don't worry about the tags if they're supposed to be cheaper. A lot of TRUs have price scanners now. (Which is how I found Juiced 2 at $5-- I was taking games that I knew were old and couldn't imagine were still selling well and scanning them)

My $10 Soul Bubbles card I had to burn this week did exactly what they wanted it to do. :p

(I saw a guy buying every Singstar game they had and looked to be on the clearance hunt as well.. we were both circling the gaming department, kinda funny)

20%!! Mine was only 15% sons a b!tches. I bought PS3 unreal too. I also picked up a Memorex 512 MP3 player for $5.48. I hope it works with Vista.

You should try, it happen to me here. They didn't put the clearence tag in Mass Effect, but it ran 9.98 (the tag read 19.98)

Yes, it will. You've been a member since Feb 2007 - you should know to never trust the sticker price ;)

I can never remember because I rarely goto TRU, Target, Kmart, CC. So where in the store do you find the scanners that you can use yourself? Last time I went to a self scanner at Target the stupid thing wouldn't do anything.

There's usually one self scanner located in the video game dept. of each TRU.

You don't really need a self scanner though if people have been reporting it on sale on this site. I generally go by a CAG's word and 95% of the time the price scans for what the CAG posted.

the video game dept at my tru doesn't have a scanner =/

The TRU by my parents house still has a stack of SMG coins. Everytime I am there I try to buy them (with different employees), but no luck. The manager says 'they are waiting to hear from corporate to destroy them'. I even offered to donate to their charity for them, but it is a no go.

Just got back from my disturbingly empty Toys R Us...I wasn't even sure it was open - there were 3 cars in the lot and all the lights were dim lol

Anyway I got 4 games for 35 bucks total:

No More Heroes
Blacksite Area 51
Frontline Fuel of War
Viva Pinata: PA

There were a few other NMH's in there too, so if you live near Bradenton/Sarasota FL go check it out! PM me if you wanna trade for NMH.

Picked up the Orange Box 360 for $9.98. They also had it for PS3.

Other notables:

--Command and Conquer 360 - $9.98
--Unreal Tournament 3 PS3 -$9.98

Platinum Gamecube systems - $49.99
the video game dept at my tru doesn't have a scanner =/
Get this though. Mine has a scanner but all the cases of the games are display only, which doesn't have a barcode to scan??? :bomb:

I scanned a bunch of game guides though. Said no price in the system. Brought them up to buy em.(penny guides) but she tried to say they were 9.99.
