Edit by Io - The most recent (1/26) drops are in the very beginning of the second post, so look there first!

------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT -- Feb 4th
Things have changed drastically since I started this thread and I've gone from a quality control monitoring job with other duties thrown in to monitoring double the amount plus the work of others. Bascially, I now do the job of three comparing the company now to that of a year ago thanks to layoffs and not hiring to replce people leaving. Plus I generally work 6 days a week and often ten hours with no break. I'd quit, but I have a hunch that our department will be hubbed in another city around July and I might as well hang in for the layoff package. Basically, this means I have zero time for internet and thread managing the way it should be done. My trade list and pm box fall by the wayside and I hardly email or even check my facebook/myspace. I didn't even find time to manage my fantasy football team and will completely forego baseball.

I know IO is busy enough as it is with a couple of threads, but if anyone wants to take over this thread and start a new one, please do so. Of course, I should have all the time in the world to keep it up to date if you want to wait unitl around July.

I got tired of going to TRU for the most recent clearance drops only to find more here on CAG from one of the three threads after I got back from the store. So I've compiled a list from the posts of Starving Gamer, Benboxer, life.exe, cmosfm, Kevzik's pics of lists at his store, the lists I saw at local TRUs and the many posts of awesome CAGs in those threads. I am by no means associated with TRU and I don't have inside information on upcoming drops, but I wanted to post a consolidated list to help other CAGs. As new drops occur Benboxer, Starving Gamer and anyone else is welcome to post new lists here and/or in seperate threads for more attention for the new items and I'll update the OP for total lists. Please keep in mind that some of these games are YMMV on price and as with all ongoing clearances availability is always YMMV as well. Most 9.90, 5.00 and 3.00 games are from the recent drop of a couple weeks ago. Thanks again for everyone's contributions and especially those early lists. I wanted to get this up and running and will do some tidying to the list as necessary. I'm not familiar with every game on the list so feel free to post or pm inconsistencies in titles!

NEW PLEASE READ SEE POST #2 FOR LATEST DROPS
A few things about pricing. All of the last round of drops are 9.90, 5.00, or 3.00. A lot of the 9.90 games were 19.98 before, most of the 5.00 were 9.98 and most of the 3.00 were 5.00. So if you see a game that is 19.98, chances are it may drop to 9.90 next drop which will probably be in a few months. As with any clearance a lot of these games may have been sold out at your store before they were even clearanced and now that the latest drop has been at least a month those games may be hard to find now, too. I do still see several 19.98 some 9.90 and some 5 & 3 games in this area. Don't forget to check the glass case and you can ask if a game is in back as sometimes this is the case.

Don't forget to post your trade wishes and wants in the Official TRU Trading Thread: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=121672

READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE CHECKING THE LIST
Games in blue are from the latest drop, most of which were on clearance already at higher price points.
Games in green are VERY RARE games from the latest drop that were originally shipped to stores in VERY LIMITED quantities when the game was released and only a very few CAGs have found these.
Games in Yellow are have been widely reported as YMMV as pertains to price point.
Games in Orange are new reports that are awaiting confirmation

Picked up a set of the official 360 component cables (like the ones that come with the system) for 9.98. Good for bringing the system to a friend's. They also had the official VGA and s-video cables for the same price. Confirmed the price of the wireless headset too. Saw the price sticker, but, alas, none were to be found.
can u buy 4 online and when it comes do a return and rebuy in store
You will be stuck with $30 in TRU credit for each copy purchased online, as stores will only issue refunds for online purchases in store credit.

But you'd still be able to do it?

No, at least not at my store. Several employees confirmed that I could NOT buy the item online and THEN price match the lower in-store clearance price. I saw a similar story from another CAG in one of the other threads...

Furthermore, they didn't even have a price in their computer for some of the clearance games, such as Eternal Sonata, since they claimed they never even carried the game...

So I would say a big YMMV....
Any chance Folklore will be going on clearance soon? Can't find it on clearance at BB or Target.
I think Folklore had a price drop $29.99. It's that price new at Gamestop now so it's hard to say when it will be clearanced.

I picked up the Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel for $49.98 (actually $39.98 after the 20% off this week). It was the old style packaging with PGR3. The new packaging was still at $99.99
The white one is the higher capacity 1019 card, right? The black one is the 251, I think.
Yeah, something like that. It seemed odd to me that both the official higher capacity card and the smaller card were clearanced at the same price.
I think a lot of people cleaned those out when the $10-ish titles were 50% off back in like December.
Yeah even a store by me that I swear had over 40 copies on the shelf are all gone now since the drop and the sale at that time.. I was going to buy one to swap out the scratched up used one I got from EBgames but no luck

Found Parappa (PSP) and Zelda WII bag but they rang up at $20 and $10 respectively. TRUs in my area never have these clearance prices. I have been trying to find NFS: Carbon but no luck. Oh well, atleast Target is always good for clearance in my area.
That's funny that TRU sells Eternal Sonata for $9.90 B&M and it's on "clearance" for $39.99 on-line.
Not so funny when you consider online's the only place you'd actually be able to get it from them.

There is one $20 Dead Rising left at the TRU in Bloomingdale, IL, after I grabbed the other one. It's hidden in the glass case, not on the shelves. I hope a CAG in the area is able to score it before the inevitable loveless horder does.

Just picked up Need for Speed Carbon at the Tallahassee TRU. They had tons of games on clearance and now is the time with the extra 30% off any clearance item.

Just garbage PS2 all stuck at $9.90 in Bellevue, WA. They did have a few Magnavox 17" LCD TV though that I was tempted by - regular $229, clearance $199, $160 after discount.
My ad says 30% off clearance in the chicago area. Is it only 20 % on electronics or something?
No you're right it's 30% I was mistaken
No you're right it's 30% I was mistaken
My store had 20% signs up everywhere, no mention of 30% anywhere that I saw.

I'll have to check my ad and receipt. I'm pretty sure they only gave me 20% off on the Racing Wheel. The discount happened automatically in the computer, so maybe the system was mistaken.

Quick question for anyone who's found the PSP Stamina battery: Is it the official first-party battery? I'm going to look around for it but I want nothing to do with third-party batteries.

Different areas of the country are running different ads. For retail this is a very normal practice...

I know it's a bit of a stretch, but has anyone here checked the TRU in Times Square. Manhattan. I've been thinking of checking it out (found a Grandia III there for $10 last year), but I'm not confident enough to invest in the 2-hour trip up there and expect to actually come back with something.

in stock were the 19.90 games which are all ringing up $15.98 everything else was out of stock.

walked away with fear and splinter cell double agent not the plat hits. plus i used a $10 gift card i had

both games came out to $24.20 not to bad

thanks

Greg

Most of the stuff on the list was cleared out a long time ago sadly. I hardly ever find anything there, but was luckily enough to find the Live Vision Cam once.

I bought about $100 worth of games two weeks ago at their regular prices. Do you think I can bring the receipts back to get the difference, or do I need to bring back the games themselves to do a return/rebuy?

Anyone with the info, you're a great help, thanks!

Damn them! And I bet that was the world's biggest toy store, too.:wall:

I am going to TRU tomorrow to try to adjust some receipts.

I think you can get price adjustments, but it may depend on the CS rep. I think they usually have you bring the items back in and they actually do a return/rebuy so if you used a coupon before you lose that savings.

I want to say thanks. I picked up one of those 1019 block GC mem cards for around $8.50. I don't play much on the GC, but it is nice to have one of the good cards. I've been stuck on one of those cheap third party ones.

It's too bad there really isn't much else at my TRU on clearance.

Picked up the white 360 wireless headset. How can I say no at 24 after the 20% off? Also got 360 The Godfather for 16 because it's the last one at a TRU in the metro area that I've seen and it would probably disappear by the time it drops again. May return it as I've gotten spoiled and hate paying more than 10 for any game older than 4 months thanks to CAG.

Just to support a previous poster, saw the 360 component HD and VGA cables for 9.98 each at my TRU.

I haven't been following this thread too closely simply because my TRU has had next to nothing clearance-wise for months. I can remember years ago sifting through bins of 9.98 and 4.98 PS2, GC and Xbox games. Now just 12 copies of Aeon Flux and that's it. I almost tried to convince myself I had a use for VGA cables just because they were a great price.

Anyone else experiencing this void of clearance deals at TRU?

It has alot to do with a good number of the clearance items in the OP are items that were clearanced last year, just that some stores that still had them received further drops. The odds of finding a third of that stuff in a single store is highly unlikely.

Also, with people becoming more active on ebay and other such sites, hoarding has increased more than ever.

It can be frustrating, yeah. I've hit seemingly every TRU within 30 miles of Atlanta over the last month in search of Eternal Sonata and a few other titles, with no success. But I DID nab a couple of wireless headsets and a 12-month LIVE Vision pack, so it wasn't a fruitless search. Keep your chin up.

Not worth it. Games are rarer there. Somebody's doing their job...

The Times Square TRU had a whole slew of FFXIIs last time I looked, and I once saw a few copies of Kameo and Live Unplugged but it wasn't worth my time to buy and flip them. But yes, other than that pickings are intensely slim. :(
