Edit by Io - The most recent (1/26) drops are in the very beginning of the second post, so look there first!

------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT -- Feb 4th
Things have changed drastically since I started this thread and I've gone from a quality control monitoring job with other duties thrown in to monitoring double the amount plus the work of others. Bascially, I now do the job of three comparing the company now to that of a year ago thanks to layoffs and not hiring to replce people leaving. Plus I generally work 6 days a week and often ten hours with no break. I'd quit, but I have a hunch that our department will be hubbed in another city around July and I might as well hang in for the layoff package. Basically, this means I have zero time for internet and thread managing the way it should be done. My trade list and pm box fall by the wayside and I hardly email or even check my facebook/myspace. I didn't even find time to manage my fantasy football team and will completely forego baseball.

I know IO is busy enough as it is with a couple of threads, but if anyone wants to take over this thread and start a new one, please do so. Of course, I should have all the time in the world to keep it up to date if you want to wait unitl around July.

I got tired of going to TRU for the most recent clearance drops only to find more here on CAG from one of the three threads after I got back from the store. So I've compiled a list from the posts of Starving Gamer, Benboxer, life.exe, cmosfm, Kevzik's pics of lists at his store, the lists I saw at local TRUs and the many posts of awesome CAGs in those threads. I am by no means associated with TRU and I don't have inside information on upcoming drops, but I wanted to post a consolidated list to help other CAGs. As new drops occur Benboxer, Starving Gamer and anyone else is welcome to post new lists here and/or in seperate threads for more attention for the new items and I'll update the OP for total lists. Please keep in mind that some of these games are YMMV on price and as with all ongoing clearances availability is always YMMV as well. Most 9.90, 5.00 and 3.00 games are from the recent drop of a couple weeks ago. Thanks again for everyone's contributions and especially those early lists. I wanted to get this up and running and will do some tidying to the list as necessary. I'm not familiar with every game on the list so feel free to post or pm inconsistencies in titles!

NEW PLEASE READ SEE POST #2 FOR LATEST DROPS
A few things about pricing. All of the last round of drops are 9.90, 5.00, or 3.00. A lot of the 9.90 games were 19.98 before, most of the 5.00 were 9.98 and most of the 3.00 were 5.00. So if you see a game that is 19.98, chances are it may drop to 9.90 next drop which will probably be in a few months. As with any clearance a lot of these games may have been sold out at your store before they were even clearanced and now that the latest drop has been at least a month those games may be hard to find now, too. I do still see several 19.98 some 9.90 and some 5 & 3 games in this area. Don't forget to check the glass case and you can ask if a game is in back as sometimes this is the case.

Don't forget to post your trade wishes and wants in the Official TRU Trading Thread: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=121672

READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE CHECKING THE LIST
Games in blue are from the latest drop, most of which were on clearance already at higher price points.
Games in green are VERY RARE games from the latest drop that were originally shipped to stores in VERY LIMITED quantities when the game was released and only a very few CAGs have found these.
Games in Yellow are have been widely reported as YMMV as pertains to price point.
Games in Orange are new reports that are awaiting confirmation

fuck the TRU's near me are a good 20 minutes, 20 minutes back type of ride. I guess I'll call my local TRU's in the morning to see if they have it. For $20 I need that thing.
I've been to 7 different BBVs in my area and every single one of them has been open to trade-ins. You might want to try a different BBV in your area.
In New York?
Hey, i got one of those for $20 too. It was the last one they had. It was at the Irving, TX store. Also got 5 F4, 4 SMB, 1 third-party memory card for ps2 for $2, and a gamecube 251 memory card for $4 (they had a bunch).
Now, the big question is:

Is the one you got the revised version (with the Forza 2 Demo) or the old PGR3 version?
Just picked up two xbox 360 Wheels (Microsoft's version) for $20 each (after 20% off clearance) in the Grand Rapids, MI area.
where'd you find that? in the aisles, in the register endcaps, or somewhere else?

i played Harry Potter OotP a bit before i traded it in. like the reviews say, it's kinda cool to actually interact with hogwarts, but it's tedious, because it's a lot of running and short tasks. better left to books and movies.
BBV?(BlockBuster Video?)

Well the only used games are old-gen games. It is the one on 76 street and 1st on the Upper East Side. I just started going there a few months ago since my old and favorite BB closed down a year or so ago:(
That BBV doesn't take trade ins. Almost all others in Manhattan do, though. The only other one that I think doesn't is the store on Broadway and 93rd. Why don't you try the BBV at 96th and 3rd? I traded there today. I think the store on 56th and 1st might take trade-ins, too, but IIRC they only offer to put it on my account, not my Value Card.
Now, the big question is:

The one with PGR3. Damn.

Well, for 8 dollars, it might be worth takinga look into I guess, cant find any other 360 games here.
The one with PGR3. Damn.
That's what I figured. That one is actually an old clearance and the odds of finding one are fairly slim. Good find!

So, everyone, if you don't find the old Wireless Wheel w/ PGR3, don't bother arguing or complaining. The revised wheel with Forza 2 demo is NOT on clearance.

I'm trying to justify driving back out to that other TRU I was at this weekend, but I don't know if it'll be worth it. :whistle2:k

I was just at TRU a few days ago and saw Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow and Parappa the Rappa(PSP) both for 9.??. don't remember the cent value though.
Would anyone recomend Harry Potter OotP? Its one of the few titles for the 360 that I can find at my TRU.
I played the game with my son last night. for 7.98 I think it was worth it. We both got confused a few times because the controls for some of the actions (invisible cloak) are a bit wonky but we can power through that for the price I paid.

Can you people please hold back the wide open hoarding flipping talk???

There are a ton of people that can't even find some of these games and want them to play yet this person reports finding 4 of "x" title and follows up with I got this much for trading it in at "X" store(s) ....

Just wanna throw this out there, the store near me still has 7 copies of Fantastic 4, and 3-4 copies of super monkey ball.

If any one wants to trade im looking for jeandarc, blue dragon, or oblivion (my store has none of em sadly)

I understand where you're coming from, but after playing Fantastic Four on the Wii, anyone hoarding that is actually doing people a favor. ;)

A whopping 2.6 on GameSpot, has to be great.

Anyway, called 5 TRUs around the Charlotte/Greensboro area of NC (Hickory, Concord, Gastonia, Winston-Salem, Greensboro) and all of them had 0 copies of F4 in stock. Might just have to bite the bullet and start using GameStop.

Lots of times you call these stores and they check the main system for these and seeing they are clearance they do not show up and they say they don't have them even though it is so much work obviously to contact "R" zone and look.. There have been a few titles they said they did not have and taking a chance and just going wow look some are there especially with the "M" rated titles and a store like mine they just have to turn around because the case is behind the registers and that seems like a chore.

If you're talking about the Wii version, the Toys R Us near me had bunch of copies but they were in a display with other budget Wii games out at an endcap at a regular register. My guess is that if you called, the people working in the video game section might not realize those are there.

Yeah, employee incompetence is certainly something that's been ringing in the back of my mind. I'd be out there already if there wasn't this nagging in the back of my head doubting. The nearest TRU is ~30 miles West of me, whereas I visited one yesterday and found one copy about 40 miles south of me, and there are two 40-50 miles east of me, so basically, I'm looking to spend a bit on gas no matter where I go for only a chance at finding one. Maybe I'll bite with nothing better to do today. At worst I think they have Meet the Robinsons for 360 on sale for 7.98, so flipping 2 copies to GameStop would yield 4 bucks profit or so. Not much, but decent.

I'd stay far away from the Blockbuster\Gamerush thread if I were you....

Sorry, I'm actually going to back him on this one. There's nothing more annoying than going to Toys R Us/Target/any other clearance sale just to find out someone bought 5 copies to go flip for an extra $5 at GameStop. A lot of the gamers hanging out on here aren't looking to flip, they're looking to get it for their personal collection. I'm of the opinion that flippers should all rot in hell and die, but at the same time I can see where they're coming from, even though they don't piss me off any less.

1) Its a freaking crappy F4 game.
2) Get there faster.
3) Heres some cheese for your wine.
4) Get there faster.
5) $4--->$30 is a LOT more then an extra $5.

1 out of my 3 local TRU's actually had the 360 wheel. The one that had it rang it up for me to check the price and it was $99.99. :bomb::bomb::bomb:

:bouncy::applause::applause::applause::bouncy: I agree with this logic

You'd complain if someone did it to a game you wanted. Life sucks, but that's how it is. It's sad how much the gamer mentality has changed from "This is a really cool game, let's play it together" to "Let's fuck everybody over and buy up all copies so that nobody can get it". sad.

1)Crappy or not, somebody may actually want it to play/keep/collect.
2)Some people actually have day jobs.
3)Hoarders don't need to take every single copy at once.
4)See #2.
5)Good point, but still it's a dick move to screw others over out of sheer greed.

The only time I've ever hoarded was with Lumines (PSP). And even then, my TRU had 15 copies, I bought 2 at a time. Sell the two I had, go back the next day, or day after, pick up two more. I stretched it out over several weeks, so anyone else who wanted any copies had their chance. I even went so far as to say which store it was.

But to go in and buy them all up in one shot is an ass move. It's bad enough that Kunai does it, we don't need a Junior.

1) Then they can go buy it for $18 from GS if they want it THAT bad.
2) As with number 1, they can afford the extra $14 then sinc ethey have day jobs.
3) Id like to know the definition of "hoarder". I bought 4 copies but thats all they had. Is that a hoarder?
4) See #2
5) I dont see it as screwing anyone over. Its there for ANYONE to go in and buy. What is stopping someone from calling at store open and getting one held for them for when they get off of work? They only want ONE copy afterall right?
1) Then they can go buy it for $18 from GS if they want it THAT bad.
So you're saying if Toys R Us had it on clearance for $5 and GS had it for $18, you'd just buy it from GS if the guy in front of you bought up all the copies? No, you wouldn't, you'd wait for the next clearance sale and bitch because the guy ahead of you stole your idea.

..And you don't..?

Yes.

When was the last time you had a store hold a clearance item? They've never done it for me. You must know something I don't. Regardless, I've never been able to trade in more than 2 copies of the same title at a time, which kind of makes it a moot point to begin with. Again though, I don't understand the mentality.. I'm a gamer, not a reseller. Maybe that's part of the problem.
1)Crappy or not, somebody may actually want it to play/keep/collect.
Word. Nice to see I'm not the only one. We're the last of a dying breed, it feels like.

Yes.

So wait... first of all yes they will hold clearance items...i had one held for me yesterday and if you look in the bb/gr thread lots of people have been able to have them held for them.

Secondly, so in the same breath you call me a hoarder you also say YOU have never been able to trade in more then 2 copies. So YOU have multiple copies of games that you are trading in? Pot Kettle Black anyone?

And yes If I went to buy a game for $4 and they were sold out. And I REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY wanted that game I wouldnt have a problem with getting it for $18. Sure it sucks you didnt get it for $4 but if you want it THAT BAD then $18 isnt killer either.

Hoarders fail at life, period. EPIC FAIL! Seriously if you hoard VIDEO GAMES then, yes, you need a life. Hoarding is something that was done in elementary school with dodge balls at recess. I'm not cool with hoarders AT ALL. I've had the chance to hoard games, but then I remembered that I actually have other interests in life, my girlfriend would kill me, and I also don't have daddy and mommy issues.

But honestly, if you hoard games, then just stay in your mom's basement and play your pokemon card game instead. We don't need you.

Hey is FEAR any good? I'm thinking about getting it this morning at TRU to PLAY...what a concept, I know.

I've had the chance to hoard games, but then I remembered that I actually have other interests in life, my girlfriend would kill me, and I also don't have daddy and mommy issues.

But honestly, if you hoard games, then just stay in your mom's basement and play your pokemon card game instead. We don't need you.
Holy hell. Have my babies?

And yes, FEAR is very entertaining. Not bad for a horror fps. I think they released an expansion pack for it. "FEAR Files" or something?

Haha that's going to be awkward and creepy since I'm a guy...but we'll make it work...I think...? Haha jk!

Ok I might just go pick it up then. I heard it was a good game but at $7, it should be well worth it.

1)Crappy or not, somebody may actually want it to play/keep/collect.
Word. Nice to see I'm not the only one. We're the last of a dying breed, it feels like.
Your my new friend :D

As for the person who said don't go near the GR/BB thread if you don't like it thats why I don't and was pointing out that just about every thread is turning into hoarder/Flippers trophy room and they make it a point to say they got 7 copies at this store and drove over to that store and traded them in... like I said before....

You will see posts now where people will say is this game worth picking up does it flip good.... come on now... Make a thread that is title flipping/Hoarding bragging rights or something but keep the store threads free of your exploits...

Just came back from my other local TRU.

Bought 10 copies of Fantastic 4, 12 copies of Eternal Sonata, 6 copies of Earth Defense Force, 9 copies of Dead Rising, and 9 copies of DDR2.

Flipped them all at Blockbuster and got myself a 60 GB PS3, with about $100 to spare in extra credit.

Thanks CAG!

Haha! I'll give you credit for the humor :applause:

But seriously if someone actually did that, wouldn't it be sad?

Well frankly, people have done it. By flipping, people have easily paid for entire consoles.

I don't really have an issue with hoarders. I generally don't (did once or twice), but that's just a choice. I'm also not going to make wild assumptions about hoarders' lifestyles. That's just pointless and immature. They're using their time to make credit and, to them, it's worth it.

I'm sure that if you PMed to ask one of these hoarders if you could trade for an item they had, they would comply. If they don't... well, that I would have a problem with.
So wait... first of all yes they will hold clearance items...i had one held for me yesterday and if you look in the bb/gr thread lots of people have been able to have them held for them.

I gotta add my 2cents to this reply. I think ppl who call ahead to have a game pulled from the shelf, so that at their leisure they can eventually show up at the store screw all the other ppl. I've taken the time to check the online inventory or even call a store to check inventory only to show up at the store and be told the item is being held.

And this was when I have arrived at the store after work (6pm+). I'm sure the asshole who reserved it was making the rounds to all the other stores before he showed up at my local store, he most likely went home and had dinner first.

So my gas and time were wasted. I swear had the motherfucker showed up at the same time I would have walked outside and keyed his car.

Yes we can all "Outsmart" each other by being huge dicks, or like racers in a competition we can map out our route and try to get there first. If your route and mine overlap, so be it but at least we both have a chance to get their first.

Well they have the same mentality most of the time even when re-selling to another CAG,, like a $5 game they got for like $20+ the offer it..

as the first person to read the post would call ahead an screw those of us actually willing to
If a store offers the ability to call ahead, I really don't see what the issue is. No one knew that you wanted a copy of that game. No one can read your mind. You really should've called ahead to make certain that they had it.

It's not a matter of outsmarting anyone. It's utilizing a feature so that you don't have to run around praying that a store has a copy of a game.

What is DDR2 getting at BB ?

I'm not questioning the fact that people have flipped games into console purchases, quite the contrary actually. I was simply making an observation to the post above mine stating that he had found and flipped a number of games (including those hard to find at TRU such as Eternal Sonata) into BBV this morning. The poster is brilliant for posting something so ridiculous that it's funny :)

However, if you state that "making wild assumptions about hoarders' life styles is pointless and immature," then what do you call hoarding? To the point and mature? Do you really want to have that conversation? So what you're saying is that hoarding games from people (namely kids who don't have a chance to pick them up because they don't have the income or the means of "at will" transportation) is ok and dandy? Is this legal in the stock market or any other market for that matter? Legally and morally, No. So why is it ok, morally, to hoard pieces of software entertainment for your personal gain? Because you can? I wouldn't want to be that person because that is a sad, sad , and lonely life.

Oh, I thought his post was very funny. I just read yours as "wouldn't if be silly if hoarding of that level happened?"

And lol, no. I'm not going to get into this conversation with you. Morality and legality have nothing to do with maturity. Personal attacks are far from expressing well thought out and logical arguments. Since you seem so hell bent on attacking, trying to argue anything is clearly moot.

I'm not defending hoarding, but I don't see it a fruitful venture to bash ANYone.

^ I'll probably regret posting this, because I really don't want to get into an argument, but that seems exactly like how the stock market works.

EDIT: Wish I'd seen you'd already posted Guardian, would have saved my 2 cents for something else.

Yes, but then asshole #2 also calls and has then pull the game, so the first "not an" asshole gets screwed when they show up. If we all call ahead and have every game pulled only the person with access to a phone at the very moment the deal was posted has a chance. Yes, it is something that a person can do, but it is also the behaviour of a selfish SOB.

So I guess my sense of fair play is also screwing me. For those of you in the O.C I will continue to follow my own rules, until it happens to me twice in a row. Once that happens the gloves will come off. And just so you know I do have a phone on my desk and internet access, and a job that allows me to closely monitor this site.

And to add 1 more point, what makes this site different is the fact that opportunity's are shared typically between members, unlike the stock market where the goal is really to profit over the next guy. And even late comers to a deal still get in on the action, although at a reduced profit. To complete the analogy, those ppl not able to sell in time, are then at risk of loosing their profits.

Have you ever noticed how ppl on this site deride the fatwallet mentatility of rape and pillage.

Sigh !!

lol, I wish you the best of luck, stoned. I don't think anyone is trying to screw you intentionally. I really think you ought to call ahead. It has nothing to do with sportsmanship. This is not a sport. It's buying games.

You'd only be doing yourself a disservice by not calling. But I respect your decision not to.
