Edit by Io - The most recent (1/26) drops are in the very beginning of the second post, so look there first!

------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT -- Feb 4th
Things have changed drastically since I started this thread and I've gone from a quality control monitoring job with other duties thrown in to monitoring double the amount plus the work of others. Bascially, I now do the job of three comparing the company now to that of a year ago thanks to layoffs and not hiring to replce people leaving. Plus I generally work 6 days a week and often ten hours with no break. I'd quit, but I have a hunch that our department will be hubbed in another city around July and I might as well hang in for the layoff package. Basically, this means I have zero time for internet and thread managing the way it should be done. My trade list and pm box fall by the wayside and I hardly email or even check my facebook/myspace. I didn't even find time to manage my fantasy football team and will completely forego baseball.

I know IO is busy enough as it is with a couple of threads, but if anyone wants to take over this thread and start a new one, please do so. Of course, I should have all the time in the world to keep it up to date if you want to wait unitl around July.

I got tired of going to TRU for the most recent clearance drops only to find more here on CAG from one of the three threads after I got back from the store. So I've compiled a list from the posts of Starving Gamer, Benboxer, life.exe, cmosfm, Kevzik's pics of lists at his store, the lists I saw at local TRUs and the many posts of awesome CAGs in those threads. I am by no means associated with TRU and I don't have inside information on upcoming drops, but I wanted to post a consolidated list to help other CAGs. As new drops occur Benboxer, Starving Gamer and anyone else is welcome to post new lists here and/or in seperate threads for more attention for the new items and I'll update the OP for total lists. Please keep in mind that some of these games are YMMV on price and as with all ongoing clearances availability is always YMMV as well. Most 9.90, 5.00 and 3.00 games are from the recent drop of a couple weeks ago. Thanks again for everyone's contributions and especially those early lists. I wanted to get this up and running and will do some tidying to the list as necessary. I'm not familiar with every game on the list so feel free to post or pm inconsistencies in titles!

NEW PLEASE READ SEE POST #2 FOR LATEST DROPS
A few things about pricing. All of the last round of drops are 9.90, 5.00, or 3.00. A lot of the 9.90 games were 19.98 before, most of the 5.00 were 9.98 and most of the 3.00 were 5.00. So if you see a game that is 19.98, chances are it may drop to 9.90 next drop which will probably be in a few months. As with any clearance a lot of these games may have been sold out at your store before they were even clearanced and now that the latest drop has been at least a month those games may be hard to find now, too. I do still see several 19.98 some 9.90 and some 5 & 3 games in this area. Don't forget to check the glass case and you can ask if a game is in back as sometimes this is the case.

Don't forget to post your trade wishes and wants in the Official TRU Trading Thread: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=121672

READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE CHECKING THE LIST
Games in blue are from the latest drop, most of which were on clearance already at higher price points.
Games in green are VERY RARE games from the latest drop that were originally shipped to stores in VERY LIMITED quantities when the game was released and only a very few CAGs have found these.
Games in Yellow are have been widely reported as YMMV as pertains to price point.
Games in Orange are new reports that are awaiting confirmation
once i bought a 360 game from kmart, all seal is there nothing wrong with it, but when i get home open it up............. no CD. i'm glad it was only 4.99
I had the same thing happen with Battlefield 2 from Kmart and NBA Street Homecourt from CompUSA. Perfect seals - no games. I read somewhere that this is more common than it should be with EA published games... In any case, I was able to return one and EA replaced the other.
Is Ninety-Nine Nights for 360 any good? I saw it today for 9.98 before the 20% off
That is a very good price for N3. Think of Samurai Warriors with knights and goblins. To me very underatted if you like those types of games and for $7.98 its a deal.

i agree, its a little short but i had a lot of fun with the game. plus for 8 bucks you cant go wrong.

I found a copy of N3: Ninety Nine Nights at my local TRU, brought the game up to the register for a price check, the guy guy scanned it (stared at the screen with a stupid look on his face) and after about 20 seconds said $39. I said are you sure, he said "ahh, yeah". I knew he lying and said great, I'll take it. He waited a while, then said "Oh, wait it's now $5" with a pissed look on his face. I've never played it, figured it's worth $5 though.

It was okay, but seemed too slow for me, compared to DW/SW.

Same here, but I didn't open it right away, so I had lost the receipt by the time I noticed. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell for ps3. (Ubisoft)

One of the more memorable portions of the game that I saw because my play time was cut short but the ROD was with the first girl you can use and your having that huge battle that crosses the river with the enemy dragons,ETC.

I dont know I found more pleasure in this then killing 10k of the same cheap enemy.

What the cashier did was just plain wrong. I would recommend you take the survey on your reciept and state what he did on the survey.

Went back to my TRU and didn't know about the M rated games case bit, thankfully though a very cool employee helped me out, finding an extra copy of Ratoutille in the back, along with pointing out the other games they had stashed in the case. All in all I nabbed Splinter Cell, Farcry and PD: Zero, along with Ratoutille, all for the 360. Add in the Forza 2, Prey, Stranglehold and Meet the Robinsons I bought previously there, it barely scratched half the cost of a new game. Not bad at all! ;)
What the cashier did was just plain wrong. I would recommend you take the survey on your reciept and state what he did on the survey.
no he didn't.

the problem with cash registers in most TRU that i visited, when you price scan an item on the register it doesn't show the adjusted price or promo or discounted price. it rings up or shows the original price. the associate then needs to press the "POP" button, in this case when the ">" symbol show next to the price. and that will show in the next "page" whether there's a promo or discount.

same thing when you do check out or making a purchase. sure when they scan the item, it will show the original price first. and then when they hit "Total" button it will adjust to the corresponding discount or whatever promo it goes with.

it doesn't work what people would expect, scan an item, and then shows the true price. no. not like that. it doesn't work that way. the reason for that, if you have coupons or discount coupons, it needs to be accounted. like properly.

don't expect people to know every single item that is on sale or clearance since they have thousands of items that changes prices constantly. not every store updates their prices and price labels, and item numbers.

and lastly, forget that stupid survey. those corporate executives monkeys survey themselves as if their lives are on the line. when they don't even do cart-run.
no he didn't.

That's funny, because I don't think it quite works like that. When I was at TRU last weekend, I asked for a scan of Splinter Cell, since it was tagged $19.98. At first it showed the $5 on the little screen that faces the customer; it didn't show the $4 until after he did that whole checkout thing.

read the post again. it doesn't show unless they press total. then those math magic works. the adjustment will come later.

if in doubt, ask the associate or anyone on the register to kindly swing those little monitor facing your direction. and let them show you what happens.

those tru corporate monkeys need to understand that their current checkout system is outdated. Safeway... heck even small convenience stores have better set-up than what TRU stores have. TRU still rely on those tiny monitors. doesn't do jack shizzle.

I work there so I know how the registers run. The cashier basically lied about the original price of the game and told the customer a higher price so he can try to get it himself. How is that not wrong? As far as the survey's go, in my district, they work. Our District Manager is hell bent on us being at a certain percentage. I have seen employees in my store get written up and even fired for bad customer service based on multiple bad survey scores.

Don't judge the checkout system by what you see. The monitors and printers might be older, but the actual CPU is newer than you think.

Question for those who didn't know about the M games. Does your store not have signs posted about this? My store has 1 sign for every 4 feet of games that state M games are kept behind the registers and to ask the cashier for assistance for these games. We have had these signs up since they moved them into the cage.

Picked up last night all for $7.98 except GT4 which was $4.
:ps2:
VP Silmeria
FF VII Dirge Of Cerebrus
Rayman Raving Rabbids (just noticed I got charged $14.99, Sticker said $9.90. Guess I'm going back for a price adjustment, should've been 20% off $9.90)
Gran Turismo 4 (Black Label) $4
:ps3:
Virtua Tennis 3
:psp:
Harvest Moon Boy & Girl
Harvest Moon Innocent Life
:ds:
Children Of Mana

Found some of these in Birmingham. Also picked up

:psp:
Grand Theft Auto: VCS $9.98

I thought this was odd considering the title is a "Greatest Hit", but the packaging was the original.
Cheers!

don't know why i skipped over this thread until now....

Went to TRU and picked up a blue dragon (reshrinkedwrapped and peeling off, but xbox seal intact and saw 3 discs inside.) + FF7 : Dirge).
Also had Wii's in stock so i grabbed one for a buddy.

Doubt it was "re-shrinkwrapped." About 1/2 of the Blue Dragons were sealed with the "old" shrink wrap method with the seam down the sides and the other 1/2 had the "Y" fold wrapping. I think it just depends on which factory produced and sealed the disk cases.

I picked up Elite Beat Agents for the DS for $9.98. It actually came out to $7.98 because of their 20% off clearence items.

Harry Potter OotP has rose back to 19.99 at my local TRU, but it still gets that 20% disc. Didnt pick it up obviously. Manager overide?

Did you scan it yourself, and it rang up at $19.99? At my local TRU, the display said $19.99, but i decided to scan it, and it rang up at $6.99. Im glad i decided to scan it just to be sure. No manager overide for me.

Mine was picked clean of PSP games, there were only 3 M rated titles in the case. I did score Farcry for 360 for $5 and thought hard about getting Stranglehold and Shadowrun.

No I had the cashier ring it up for me. I asked him to complete the transaction just in case it would ring up in the end, but all it did was give an extra 20% off. So it means it clearence, but Im pretty sure since it rings up with a .99 price, it must have been a manager overide or something...

There are a select few games that end in .99 that are catagorized as clearance without the clearance pricing. In my store, I've noticed that it's games that have been clearanced once before, only to have the regular price now. Manager overide has nothing do with this.

The thing is, the tab was stickered at 9.98 last week, and this week not only is it stickered at 19.99, but it also rings up at said price. So...someone had the time to resticker the tab. There were about 8 copies of the game, but now there are only 3. I remember that some of them did have price stickers on them (@ 9.98), but I assume those were bought up.

It was marked up to 19.99 this week. Last Thursday, I mentioned this particular game was a mark up this week.

Hit the JACKPOT in Gainesville TRU!! Ok, so it was only F4, Super Monkey Ball, Splinter Cell and Godfather for Wii at $4, $4, $8, and $8 respectively, but still! $24 for four decent games I've wanted to own? Can't beat that!

Had many copies of each, about 10 of Fantastic Four, 6-8 of each other mentioned, FYI. Had a couple of the X-Box 360 titles, I remember Meet the Robinsons and Fusion Frenzy 2, off hand. Also had Prey for $5. No Splinter Cell for PS3.

Found NCAA Football 07 for 360 for 9.98 (got it for 7.98 + tax due to 20% off sale). Not much else on sale 360 wise at my local TRU. I may check out another one or two in the area sometime this summer. Would love to find Oblivion CE or an NBA game.

Picked up copies of POTC (7.98), Meet the Robinsons (7.98), Dance Dance Universe (7.98), Thrillville (9.99), Elite Beat Agents DS (7.98) and NHL 2K8 for PS2 (4.00). I also found some 64 MB Memory Units for 11.98 and a 120 GB HDD for 149.98 (I didn't get the extra 20% off, so probably going to return if they don't adjust for me).

Picked up Baten Kaitos Origins - Gamecube - was marked $15. Got it for $4.00 was pretty cool + a bunch of 360 and PS3 games that im happy to add to my collection.

Picked up Blue Dragon, Picross, and Elebits, all $7.98 each at 2 different TRUs yesterday. May have to go back for Jeane D'Arc and Stranglehold.
So when do these drops usually happen? I'm on the fence about buying a couple games and was wondering if they'd drop from $9.98 to $5.00.
You would be better off getting them now for $7.98 with the discount because there are only going to be a few that may slip past and make it to the next drop

Even for $4 Far Cry Predator/Instincts may have to be the worst game I've ever played. Ridiculous difficulty level and just a bland and boring game.
