Official Xbox Magazine @AMAZON 19.95 Reg.119.88

Haven't you ever looked at one of those post cards that fall out of magazines? They always say stuff like this... "83% off cover price!".
 
Yeah its like 10 bucks at a newstand.

I was able to get this, Nintendo Power and OPM a few months back all for $31 dollars due to some deal from them.
 
OXM actually has 13 issues a year so the newsstand price would be $130. The normal subscription price is $28 and PTOM (Playstation: The Official Magazine) is only $20 because it lacks a demo disc.

GIve the poor cag newbie a break. He is probablly just a rep from the magazine that created a account here and doing his best to make us believe what a great deal it is so we will snap up subscriptions to a magazine thats cover to cover just self masturbation about how awesome it and the xbox is.
 
Actually magazines get more money if you buy them from the newstands vs subscribe. This holds true even if the prices were the same.

Nice job OP, but there are better deals on subscriptions
 
I like how whenever some posts a deal, people instantly start bashing the deal/poster....why does everyone get so mean when they are communicating over the internet?

The days of even getting the cool demo discs is no biggie anymore either, cause all those demos can be had on Live most likely before you even get the magazine.
 
I wasn't bashing the OP. I was just laughing at the fact that the annual newsstand price should not be the advertised price. It should be compared to the regular subscription price ($24.95).

And I like OXM, but probably because I like reading about Xbox stuff.

Also, to merchie89, when someone actually posts a great deal, you don't see the instant OP bashing. It must not be such a good deal if there's criticism, eh.
 
Okay magazine, IMO, but not worth it.

Comes with a demo disc that has recent demo's and ALL(most it looks like actually...) OXM game reviews for you to read on your 360.

Every once in awhile they also give out free Pics, themes, or premium themes. I got the Borderlands them free in 1 issue.

Maybe worth it, I paid like ~$8 for mine with disc.

I think recently they've had some Japanese demos, which I don't think are otherwise easily available. But yeah, I can't remember the last time I actually put in one of those discs (I think it was for that Borderlands theme). Most of the time, the main "bonus" are gamerpics, which aren't even used that much anymore because of avatars. I was wondering if they were ever going to offer avatar swag instead. One time they offered a bunch of GRAW content for free, but I don't remember a significant freebie since then.

Same goes for PSM... I subscribed mainly to check out the free Qore issues they had, but they stopped that long ago (and I still have no idea who in their right mind pays for Qore... but if you're one of them, do they still have forced ads?)

Both mags are a bit better now that the systems have hit their stride... I remember a year or so ago it seemed like they didn't have enough content to fill the mag so they added some random mobile gaming section to each. Now they have some decent reviews, and a bunch of fluff pieces like "why the PSP Go is so awesome."
