It's never mattered, the trading forum isn't even moderated anymore, the only rule that actually matters is the 3 day one

It's not like they would know how your PP transaction takes place anyway.

Everyone should do F&F, are we not friends here? It makes zero sense to not do that

I'm not saying I didn't know what the "rules" listed are, I'm just pointing out that that particular "rule" is pointless and doesn't matter, it's about as bad as not being able to list free stuff for trade and that finally got overturned back when the mods were actually doing anything

It would be cool if people fixed their negative feedback before trying to do more trades (especially one's that have negative feedback as their newest one).

 
The rule on CAG is that gifted paypal is not allowed.  It's a tough rule to enforce as we can't actually monitor how people pay each other.  I will say people have gotten banned by Paypal for abuse of the friends/family payments.  It's against their TOS and that's why it isn't allowed here.  In general you should use it at your own risk.

Thanks for the great transaction - I read all the commotion about the "gift" payment and I have a very simple suggestion change the word "gift" to "net" and then the payee can decide to send F/F or eat the PayPal fees - problem solved!

Apparently people don't understand what "gift" and "payment" mean. Payment is what's owed in exchange for goods or services. A gift is a one-way donation in exchange for nothing. Using the friends and family option for payment of goods and services is essentially fraud as defined by paypal's ToS and the law.

You seriously want to risk being caught committing wire fraud, or international wire fraud, to save $0.50? Well, then you're just stupid. Adding $0.50 more to your asking price solves EVERY complication; legally, with paypal, and with CAG.

And no, the buyer should never pay fees. That's b.s. Fees are paid by the seller for the convenience of using a payment service. If you don't want fees, don't use a service that has fees.

It's not that difficult to understand people.

Sorry to bring this up , But I rarely use PayPal for payment for this same reason ,

F&F payments are only available for the US, or at least that's what Paypal's customer service told me. there was this guy who was only accepting gifted payments , since I needed that code so bad I accepted to pay the fees , even if we aren't supposed to, but the guy sold the item 3 hours after I sent him a message asking for the paypal email ;

it seems like everyone won't accept any other payment that a F&F one even thought they don't know it's not available for everyone
