Ok, seriously. Where can I pay less than $140 for a DS?

I am considering getting a Nintendo DS. Then I see the price and giggle. Then I realize they are being serious and puke in my mouth a little.

$140? Geez.

There has to be somewhere in the GTA that I can get one for less. Maybe even a "buy a DS get a game free" deal. And not that shitty Bionicle Heroes Futureshop deal.

Help me, CAG. You are my only hope.

Other than the 'every now and then Zellers DSlite with a Mario game for 139.99', you're best bet is to grab 6 games from Blockbuster and trade them in for a new DSL.

Edit: Rant

Speaking of new DSL, my current black DSL that I got from that sweetass EB deal where the DSL was on sale for 110$ last ... December(?) and DSL has a trade-in of 100$ if done through this promtion, it has chosen to cease function of it's shoulder buttons.

ugh, I don't want to get yet ANOTHER one, unless I can do what's listed above again for a new Blue and Black one without the negligible yellow tinge on the touch screen.

I didn't know what this "trade 6 for a DS" deal is you mention. It isn't on the website at all.

I did find it on redflagdeals and will look into it.

Seriously, learn how to search on CAG.
Also, we have a question thread, you dont need to start a new one.
And... if you actually did some research, youll know that its below 140 at MANY places....

Thanks for the pro tips, Richard Cranium. I didn't see anything in the first few pages of the Canada forum and it isn't hurting your internet for me to make a new post. I will be sure to send you a personal invite the next time I want you to shit on my thread.

Does this board have an ignore feature?

I'm frankly sick & tired of gamer602's posts where they attempt to be a mod for this forum, and I'd rather not read them anymore.

I second that.

What did Gamer602 expect with the title "Where can I pay less than $140 for a DS" because they clearly were annoyed when they read the actual question.

if you lived in Vancouver, i worked out something

anyone want a DSL with 2 games (Diamond and M&L partners in time) for $130? Vancouver

i myself sold 5 of them, 120 each :) back when the promo was on, still getting emails about them! long gone though!

keep an eye on kijiji!

Morals aside, that's a good way of getting a sealed DSL with receipt.

edited because what i posted had no relevance to the OP...

anyway, i'm sure you can find them for less than 140 but really people posting about 129 retail not including tax doesn't really help the guy.

The Trade in Deal for 5 games at Eb is over.

Just call Nintendo about your Broken shoulder buttons they send you another one. It has a 1 Year warranty, they have really good customer service. If you live close to one of the repair places you can get it fixed/replaced right away.

I'm guessing you're expecting to find a place that sells a DS Lite for like $80?

Wait for a price drop. If you don't think $129.99 is worth a DS, don't get one at all. 'Cause when you see the prices of games you'll have a heart attack and asking us for Mario Kart for $19.99.

Or you could steal one, then it's free (magic word).

And on the Black DS' shoulder button it seems to be a wide spread problem, I get a few of those come in at my store every week, is that a manufacture defect? We exchange 'em but I always wanted to give a better answer than: "It's a manufacture defect so we'll just exchange it".

I have a purolator guy coming in as we speak. This still sucks 5 out of 7 flavours of ass. "/

Fortunately mines is not the only DSL in the place and I can continue my treks underground.

This is the first I heard of this but I'm not surprised. The Pink ones had a long line of faulty touchscreens (whether because it looked blurry, wasn't responsive etc) from what I hear when I had one of those. Went through 3 of the bastards before getting a decent one.
While we're talking about issues, did anyone else's DS Lite's sleep function magically stop working? =/
My gf's DS (I got her the Metallic Pink Nintendogs edition if that matters) sleep just screws up whatever she's doing and requires a reset, and the up button doesn't work (realised that when it didn't work in Tetris).

EDIT: but from the... 5-6 DS Lite's I've bought or come through the Nintendogs one was the only one with a problem, and my very first DS Lite (launch) had that shoulder cracking thing.
