I'm in for a classic Zelda at $10. I have a NES emulator for my GBA/DS but an unscaled Zelda would be cool. If I can find some filler to ship with it. Maybe a NES game.

cool 64 games still availible.. both banjo games, mario party 1 and 2, smash bros, mario 64.. lot of stuff i don't see everyday.. and a MVC 2 for XB
If the game is rare, then it's unlikely that he'll find it at a local Blockbuster, so this or eBay (it goes for $20-30) may be his best option to get the game.

So what if other games use the engine? You don't see people complaining when Yet Another Unreal Engine Powered Game is released. Dark Alliance II is arguably the best game to use the engine on the Xbox, since Fallout: BoS was a bastardazation of the franchise.
1. You'd be surprised how many rare games rot at rental stores. I picked up a copy of Vampire Night for $16.99 before taxes and discounts. I think I paid the equivalent of $10 cash after everything was said and done. I bought my only Xbox copy of BGDA2 from Blockbuster.

2. There's some expectation that newer games will use newer engines. I didn't play the Baldur's Gate games on the PC in '97, but they look very similar to the PS2 and Xbox Baldur's Gate games. I can understand making a sequel based on the same engine to cash in on a game's success, but that window is a maximum of 3 or 4 years. After that, the company is just lazy.

3. Yes, Fallout: BoS was a huge step down for the franchise. I played it. I wasn't impressed. There's a certain appeal to a game where you can convince your enemies to kill themselves as in Fallout and Fallout 2.
Cleaning process... just wash it off with a little soap and water... it does not bother me because I know the game will look like new since it was just 'buffed'.
Oh, so that's what that is. Thank god.
...
1. True. I've found copies of Moto GP 2 and Air Force Delta Storm cheap at Gamerush.

2. Baldur's Gate used the Infinity Engine. So did BG II and Icewind Dale. They are more traditional D&D computer RPGs. Dark Alliance is a hack 'n slash that uses it's own custom engine that was also used for DA II, Champions of Norrath, Champions: Return to Arms and most recently, the Bard's Tale.

Anyone know what episodes are included in this pack? It looks like one of the 3-box sets that were released before, but it doesn't have a volume number.
I want to say that it is one of the original boxes that ADV put out for Robotech, since it seems to have Volume 3 and Volume 4 (out of 6) for the "Macross" saga of Robotech, along with the extras disc. If I recall, ADV also brought out a second series of boxes with vastly improved video and, I think audio, that are probably worth buying over the original set.

[Edit:] Yup, this is from the first set. Volume 3 and 4 should have episodes 13 through 24 on them, if I remember correctly. Check around elsewhere online, though. You can pick up the entire "Macross" set of Robotech for $62 over at rightstuf.com instead, or you can pick up the third volume of the first set for just $13. There are better prices out there.

Personally, if you really want it, I suggest the second run of the sets, the ones with the updated video, audio, and scenes that were cut out. There's a world of difference, although those tend to run around $30 a pop. But, if you wait for the right sale, they can go for a little over $60 in total, not counting shipping.

i've found all sorts of "rare" games at blockbusters (a disc only Rez at a Game rush for 16 bucks).. but I mean I didn't think it was all that rare or popular.. i still may pick it up.. but i don't know if its worth the 20 something after coupons. they have like 10+ copies when i checked the other day and i know its not flying off their site anytime soon.

XMen Legends as well I believe.

yay.. so I placed an order tonight (and if this serves me right the game i want the most, harvest moon 64 will be in stock tomorrow.. always happens)

but DOA volleyball 17.99
project snowblind (free after discounts)
Tom clancy three pack (i didn't own the games and it looked good for 20)

all about 40 and some change... i know not the best deal.. but the pickings on XB games are getting pretty slim (besides newer releases I'm not really missing any games I want) but anyways.. thanks for the advice on BG DA 2.. I think I'll wait and see if Blockbuster has it.
Moto GP 3 just came out for Xbox, so the values of 1 and 2 have tanked.
Yeah especially Moto GP 2. I saw a used Moto GP 2 sell for $3.xx on EBay when it was selling for $40+ earlier this year.

Your wasting your money on DOA volleyball...

Aww, you kidding? The game's kinda dumb, but it's dumb in a quirky and fun hanky-panky sorta way.

well it may not be worth that much.. but I've had a hard time finding it.. (as the only real outlet for me is used EB and I hate going through Ebay.. 13.50 (what it is after card) is a really good deal)..well my girlfriend that is going to be moving in with me in within the next year really likes it so its kinda for her.. and she has never steered me in the wrong direction for any xbox game but this is way way way off topic..

RE 2 for the 64.. someone mentioned it.. and its pretty good after discount anyways.
Who's ready for an awesome update this morning? I feel something big will be available .. Rez, Gitaroo, or perhaps Rhapsody.
Just continuing to wait on some GC games I haven't seen in the three months since joining the party.
I'm holding out hope for Cubivore. I mean, it's gotta come in eventually. And when it does, it will be mine.
Cubivore . . . great idea! I'm going to get it too! :)

Aren't you afraid to post the name of a game you're searching for . . . some of us just need a tiny bit of suggestion . . .

Better a CAG than someone else on a different board or somebody not a CAG.

Hence for now I just say "some GC games" I'll let ya know what I'm looking for once its not here for the 100th day in a row.

It's just I've noticed that there will be a run on different games (because of our chatter) and it will be very hard to get them . . . then weeks later its no problem because the pack has moved on. What was the hot game will still be instock 30 min. after update.

Now that I'm thinking about it a little more, I would jump on a $20 copy of the game in question . . . but before it hadn't entered my mind at all.

no update, yet but I noticed that there are 9 copies for $9.99 bc

100th day? You're not looking for the Gamecube version of Halo 2 are you? :)
Yeah it's pretty sick when I've been sitting here for 30 minutes hitting F5... on dialup... when I won't get anything anyway. sigh
Firefox's "Reload Every ..." plugin is great. Auto-reload every five seconds.

And I'm honestly not too worried about competition. I've had good enough luck with extremely rare games on EB to keep me hopeful.
100th day? You're not looking for the Gamecube version of Halo 2 are you? :)
fucker, you took that from my cart, didn't you? ;) Nah, its an exaggeration, but I think I've seen each of the two that I can think of off the top of my head once or twice since July. Before I even thought about wanting them.

And the games aren't so rare that I couldn't get them on GS or somethin, but there's something about EB's guaranteed manual/case (and price!) that gives me some trepidation about ordering from GS. And I don't think I've ever used the word trepidation at 7:30am.

Gotta go to work, enjoy the update that will happen in the intervening 15 minutes.
The guy that hits the update button musta been out drinking last night and is getting to work late...
hahah that made me laugh. i just pictured a guy in a control room with a giant red flashing button that says "UPDATE".

Now I'm intrigued to know what you're looking for just cause you wont say. Hmmm what could it be ...

He's probably watching this thread now, he's fucking with us, that's why the update is erratically timed.

This is what happens every morning at the EB Headquarters ...

i know right? that bastard. i wish he'd get it over with and let me go back to sleep.

And, unfortunately, this late an update is usually a poor one.

We did have one day (in the last 365 . . . yes, I've checked in on 98% of the updates in the last year) without an update.
