12 bucks for FF 2 WOW
Now that is a good deal. I might even have bit on that, and I have avoided all sorts of SNES temptation. If only you could get or make them complete...

Checking out the CAG-O-Matic, 73 NES games had a $2 price drop (so now $2 or $4). Nothing spectacular that I could see, but hey, $2 games are always fun.

Too bad Kid Icarus is still $20 b/c.

Edit: Take that back... SmashTV and Pipe Dream look pretty good at $3 a/c, someone buy them first, please.
yeap... must not been that many online Was shocked FF2 didnt get pulled from my cart
hey slidecage got something from the EB update.. awesome..

wasn't kid icarus 24.99 last time.. and they used to have some high Mega Man games that someone must have finally pulled the trigger on.. the NES stock is dwindling too.. ah well i got most of the NES games I ever want.

Yeah, Kid Icarus and Mega Man 6 had $5 drops to $19.99. But by "still" I mean $20 is still too high.

now comes the fun part of trying to figure out where i tossed that SNES system... I hope the battery backup still works.

I think 9.99 is still too high for Mario 2 and 3.. i mean those had print runs of like a billion.

Ha... my NES, SNES, and N64 are sitting in a box in my storage closet awaiting a new or second TV stand/entertainment center with space for them to sit out. Then my GC wouldn't be lonely sitting on the floor.

Well, the real key there is if you tried to trade those in they'd either not accept them or probably give you like a penny.

Honestly, I think the only classic games I need to get carts (and therefore spend more than $5 or $10) for are FF2, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, the Lufias, and maybe Secret of Evermore and Illusion of Gaia. Anything else I can suffer to play on zsnes with a keyboard.

i got a sidewinder usb controller for the computer and it is effectively a SNES controller (just looks more like a PS1 controller) but has the six buttons just have to map Start and Select to the keyboard. Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger are best played on a real SNES though.. which reminds me I haven't even gone through those two since i got them on here last february or something.

i would never spend 30 bucks on a remake of FF 4 on the DS or GBA for 30 .. i did pay 30 for FF 1 and 2 but that is because it had 2 games on the cart.
Actually FF3 is coming to DS, that I would pay $30 for, seeing as it would complete my FF collection.
im tired of waiting for that game I dont even see it on the list of games coming out for the DS anymore

I think that's Japan's 3, not our 3(VI)

i could be wrong though. I hope it is VI.

Right on. Have you played 3 for the Snes lately? I just started a game of it a few weeks ago, haven't played it since I was like 12 (i'm 24) and I'm amazed at how well it's aged.
That's because FF3 for SNES is the best game of all time next to Chrono Trigger. Duh! :D
Does that mean FF2 is $14.99...?! Has it always been that price? Oh man, that's hot! I thought it was either $24.99 to $34.99. Gotta get me one of those.

It must have been one of the recent SNES price drops. It should also now be that price if you can find it in-store.

haha, those were like THE games i went out of my way to pre-order back in the day, mainly because they were the games i wanted to play the most, maybe i was ahead of my time?

also, people keep saying how it was the best update, i think i must be missing something, as i thought the "update" was deals or links posted in the thread, but i rarely see any at this point, is there somewhere else people are loooking where all the new stuff pops up where the "great upates" are popping up?

The "update" refers to the event that happens every weekday morning at about 7AM Eastern, when EB's site purges its inventory, and uploads a fresh version. If new items have been added to inventory since the previous update, they become available for order at that point. Since EB's site mostly accepts orders for things only when in-stock, this means that if you want a rare game from EB online, you have to watch EB's site at the time of the update (usually by frantically reloading the page), hope it comes into stock, and hope you can check out with it before somebody else does.

This thread comes into play because people post links to items that become available in the update, letting people know what's available, what's recently had a price drop, etc. The thing is that how 'good' an update is doesn't necessarily coincide with the amount of links posted in this thread. If EB gets one copy of Rez in stock, people are too busy trying to get an order in to post a link. If EB gets 1 copy of fifty rare games, it'll be a good update with few links. You see the most links from updates that may not contain many rare games, but add a lot of harder to find or extremely cheap games into stock. Of course, one person's good update is another's crappy update, so it's all kind of relative.

how do i go about seeing the update then? since it isnt reliant on people who post the links on the thread, where can i specifically see the newly added stuff?
how do i go about seeing the update then? since it isnt reliant on people who post the links on the thread, where can i specifically see the newly added stuff?
I don't know--I don't know if you actually can on EB's site (and even if you could, weeding through all the newly added junk would probably kill your odds of getting in on something great.) What a lot of people here do is zero in on things that specifically interest them (say, PS1 RPGs, or SNES games, or a specific game), and refresh that page, looking for anything that appears in that list (or, in the case of games, the game's page to go back to being a product page and not the "We're sorry" thing.) That's why the first post in this thread includes all those EB links--so people can easily access the game pages they want.
how do i go about seeing the update then? since it isnt reliant on people who post the links on the thread, where can i specifically see the newly added stuff?
Basically you have to load and reload pages on EBGames.com and search directly from there. There is no "this is the new stuff this morning" page, unfortunately.
I lost FF2 in like a heartbeat, heh. =P
Sorry, that was me. :whistle2:(

I can't find anything else worth getting though...
