Please try to follow the example below if possible. If you feel the need to use the system icons, please only use them once at and at the top of the list. Also always post the system it's for even if it's only on one system or the value will not get updated. I don't always know it and I'm doing these updates from work to keep them as updated as often as possible so I can't spend time searching for that info.

These trade-in values are really low!
While that may be true, if you combine the games with the right promotion they can work to your advantage. There are knowledgeable people in this thread that are normally willing to help.

Is there any way to look at what the previous values reported on a game?
You can search through this thread and previous ones to see what a game has been reported in the past. With the TIV Tracker you can sort by date and then go through the list of past updated values through that as well. Can I trade-in sealed games?
No. You might come across the rare GameStop that would let you do it, but they are going to open them anyway.

I don't want to get hassled about the values I post, how can I get the information out there?
If you do not feel comfortable or willing to put the values in the thread you have two options available. You can input them in the TIV tracker or you can send them to me via PM. Either way the database and these lists will be updated. Putting them into the TIV tracker does save me some time later on.

Do trade-ins have to have their original case, insert and manual?
No, however it will be YMMV on if they charge you a refurbish fee for them in that condition. Most GameStops wont charge a fee but there are some that charge for incomplete games.

Will they accept my game if it is really beat up?
YMMV. It really all depends upon the employee you get. Some will charge refurbish fees, some wont, some wont accept the game and others just take them without a second glance.

What are the refurb fees on games?
There appears to be set prices for set value ranges. We aren't 100% certain on the splits just yet. Here is what we have currently:
$0.25-$2 Value: $0.75 Refurb Fee
$2.01-$4 Value: $1 Refurb Fee
$4.01-$7 Value: $2 Refurb Fee
$7.01-$10 Value: $3 Refurb Fee
$10.01 & Higher Value: $4 Refurb Fee
This information isn't guaranteed by any mean and we are still working on nailing it down.

What are the refurb fees on consoles?
They are listed in the hardware TIV section, highlight in red.

I have a Collector's/Limited/Special edition of a game, do I have to trade-in all of the extras?
No, but there are a handful of games that their variations have separate listings at GameStop: Madden 09 Anniversary Edition, Battlefield: Bad Company Gold Edition, and a few others.

Why didn't the percent bonus go for my accessory for a system that was included?
Unless stated otherwise, and they are rarely included, the bonuses never apply to accessories. Except the PowerUp Rewards card of course.

I traded in a bunch of games for the "Trade X, get $X bonus" promo and it gave me the percentage bonus instead?
I can't give concretes on why this happens. GameStop computers are normally pretty good at giving you the better promo. In the case of a percentage bonus being run at the same time as a "Trade X, get $X" promo, things can get messy. The system appears to only give one promo on games per transaction so if you had a few games that you want to go to the percentage bonus and a stack for the "Trade X, Get $X" it will regularly apply the percentage to all of the games. Your best bet is to do all "Trade X, Get $X" games in one transaction on their own. The GameStop clerk may say that the system will figure it all out, tell them you want a separate transaction anyway. As always, check your receipt before you leave the store.

Can I trade in multiple copies of the same game?
YMMV. The official policy is no, but there are some GameStops that overlook that rule.

What all do I have to trade in for a console trade-in?
Xbox 360: Console Unit, power brick, A/V Cables, Controller (wired/wireless)
Wii: Console Unit, Power Cable, A/V Cables, Wiimote, Nunchuck, Sensor Bar
Playstation 3: Console Unit, Power Cable, A/V Cable, Controller, USB Cable
PSP: Handheld, A/C Adapter
Nintendo DS/DSLite/DSi: Handheld, A/C Adapter, Stylus

Can I trade in a defective/broken console?
For the most part yes. If it powers on but doesn't play games, they will take the console as a refurb unit and put a refurb fee on the console. The refurb fee on the console will vary on the price of the console so those numbers will change. You are still required to trade in everything required listed in the question directly above.

What is the difference between PowerUp Rewards and PowerUp Rewards Pro?
The basic card is free and only allows you to acrew points when spending money. The Pro card costs $14.99 and is basically the same as the previous EDGE program.

How much does a PowerUp Rewards Pro subscription cost?
It costs $14.99 and is good for a year. It also comes with a 1-year subscription to Game Informer magazine.

What bonuses come with having an PowerUp Rewards Pro card?
You will get an extra 10% trade-in credit on the base value of the game, extra 10% off the purchase of pre-owned games and 10% off new strategy guides.

Does the Power Up Rewards Card give me a bonus on hardware trade-ins?
No. You will only get the bonus for games and accessories.

What if I want cash instead of credit, what do they deduct?
If you decide that you want cash instead of credit, they will take 20% off the base values and promos will not apply.

Does promo "....." have a minimum trade-in value?
If the promo has a minimum trade-in value requirement, it will be listed in the promo. If it isn't there, then there is no limit. However, as with all trades, they are subject to manager approval so the manager could have setup his own little rule-set requiring a minimum of whatever.

I used a Power Trade promo for a pre-order, can I cancel that pre-order and get the credit or move it to another game I want?
Yes on both accounts. However, if you do a bunch of the power trades and just straight drop the pre-order you could create some ill-will between yourself and the employees you cancel on. However, if you look at the wordings on promos, they can remove the bonus trade-in value if they decide to.

I just tried to use a promo that has a select list of games eligible, but they say my game isn't eligible anymore, what gives?
Basically they have the right to change the eligible games at any time. They tend to update these frequently so as to lock out any easy/cheap games. It's best to check the eligible list the day of your trade.

Can I stack two different trade-in promos?
No. The only thing that will stack with trade-ins is your PowerUp Rewards card. Some will report success, but this requires a manual override and is very YMMV.

If I pay for an item using all credit on my card, do I have to pay sales tax?
This varies depending upon the state you live in.

If I buy a used copy of a game that requires an online pass for multiplayer, will it come with an online pass?
If you purchase a used title published by either Sony or WB you get an online pass from GS on your receipt. That's also why the used copies are $55 instead of $48 when the MSRP is $60. No GS issued passes of games published by EA, THQ, etc. On those titles you're totally dependent on the previous owner not using the code.

My state doesn't charge sales tax on purchases made by credit, why is gamestop.com charging me tax?
It is just the way they have designed their system. The best theory we have seen is that since you are only inputting the number off of the back of the card, it isn't going to pick up the programming from the specially tagged EDGE cards. Some kind of programming that gets input from their system that wont show up when only inputting the number off the back of the card.

Actually it's because of the ridiculous 47 $ ( with gcu ) select Xbox one title trade values at best buy that will last until Tuesday will pair lovely for anyone with a b2g1 coupon handy .

This coupon seems like a waste unless you're trading in Thief because the highest values are $25 base and with the 40% after the PUR it's basically the same thing.
 
So I just traded in my 360 and some games towards the titan fall xbox one bundle.

The girl who did the trade in did not give me the 30% extra on the games and accessories, just the 50% extra on the system.  I asked why and she said that the games and accessories deal couldn't be applied on the same transaction as the 50% bonus and that they wouldn't be eligible towards the titan fall system.  Anyone else have this trouble? I could've gotten an extra 17$ with that bonus.

 
Darn that coupon doesn't help me since I don't have any next-gen games lol. Oh well, waiting another week for something good to spend my points on.

Haven't had that exact problem but plenty like it. Basically, if you're looking to mix promos or coupons, sometimes it's best to do separate transactions.

Well I asked her if I could do separate transactions but she said I wouldn't get the credit towards the titan fall bundle.

 
So I'm planning something that might go pear shaped with my luck. I'm trading in my ps3 and 3ds toward a titanfall bundle. I'm gonna trade it in for credit then a couple hours later; cancel the trade and get my credit put on my card for amazon cards. It sounds like a money launder scheme and technically it is but I can find more stuff to buy with amazon then GameStop (like a vita). Some issues I got though;

1. I might have the video cables around somewhere but does it need to be the HD cables? I got this universal one but I don't know if they'd take it.

2. If I put it toward a system and cancel; can I get my credit back or would they pitch a fit and deny it?

I know, new poster but I've lurked enough to know some so can you guys give me some advice?
 
Yeah that was me. I've done two separate trades to pay off my titanfall bundle and got a 50% bonus for all games, systems, and accessories. Signs were posted in store. According to another CAG its a store specific promo but I couldn't verify that as I haven't visited another store yet.

Thanks for responding. I was hoping it was some system glitch. I would agree you most likely had a store specific promo. The nationwide promo is worded to apply only for system trades. Also, I believe other cags were posting earlier in this thread that the Titanfall bundle wasn't activating the bonus yet since it's a preorder in their system and the current promo is meant to work with next gen systems that are already available. I'll give it a shot later this week when I go in for a trade if nobody else reports until then.

Yes I had this same issue with my trade in on Friday however the manager simply adjusted the value of the system trade in to give me the additional amount (it was giving 30% instead of 50% on the hardware trade) on the bundle. All the games kicked in at 30% just fine though, Of course I wish I had waited now as everything I traded in Friday would have netted me more (except the systems) in value at BB today. Oh well, my kid still gets a new xbox one and I get Titanfall and I spent nothing out of my pocket for both so I am still happy.

 
is it possible to get the 30% extra trade in value if I trade towards Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD?  Because Gamestop's website seems to hint at that in the Re Fun your Refund page.

 
Dunno if anybody said this, but check your active offers. I had a 15% off any new product except subs, GCs and systems, plus two other coupons. Using it on Dark Souls :)
 
Ok so someone tell me what I'm missing here...

Gamestop is currently offering a 50% bonus trade-in credit on systems when purchasing an Xbox One, PS4, or Wii U. 

On their site, they list the Xbox One and PS4 trade values as $390 and $344.50, respectively. http://www.gamestop.com/trade-values

Does that mean I could buy a brand new Xbox One for $500, open it, then trade back to Gamestop toward a PS4 and get $390 + 50% bonus of $195 = total of $585 in trade-in credit toward the PS4?

Surely that can't be right...

no the 390 and the 344.50 are already including the 30%. The BASE is $300 x1 and $275 i think for PS4. If you read the site closely you'll see it says 30% is already included.

Ahh. Gotcha. Even so, if your base numbers are right on the PS4, they'd have to give you $412 on a PS4 for Xbox One trade.

I wanted to trade my ps3 and games in towards a ps4 but all the Gamestops in my area are just selling bundles that have to be ordered im pretty pissed seems like they had lots in stock before this 50% trade deal started.

 
Well, I was able to do my trade in a haste. Here's what I got to give:

3DS system: 60+50%=$90
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 3DS: 10+10%=$11
SMT Soul hackers: 5+10%=$5.50
Blazblue 3DS: 2.50+10%=2.75
Tales of abyss: 9+10%=9.90

Ps3 slim 160gb: 75+50%=112.50
Modern Warfare 3 ps3: 1+10%=1.10
Midnight Club LA complete: 5+10%=5.50
Stick of truth: 24+10%=26.40
8bit dot game heroes: 2+10%=2.20

Total 266.85

Ps3 was making hard drive clicking which was wigging me out. 3ds I kinda lost pokemon x but I hated it so not a HUGE loss. Now I got three options. Get another 3DS, buy a PS vita or grab a game and blow the rest on kindle cards...
 
If you have Xbox one games to trade in and have a BBY nearby, then trade in there. An unannounced promo going on 100% TiV boost along with about a dozen xbox one games being upped to $22.50 base ($45 after 100%). Don't have to preorder or do anything for 100% boost

Not sure how long this will last as it is unannounced. I assume the $22.50 game TiV will drop Tuesday night/Wednesday morning as the promo is for Titanfall

For shiny brand new one yup. I would have done the exact same. Plus you get TF for free.

 
Can someone confirm that if I use a $25-$10-$5 PUR coupons on the Titanfall bundle that the $10 and $5 coupons will be available to use again?

It's suppose to but let me know how that goes last week I wasn't able to use three coupons on one item only 2 would apply and this was with a manger trying over and over to do it for me. He then told me they sent out a email to only allow one coupon per item, so I'm just guessing but I think the system might be cracking down on it. If you want give it a try maybe it was just a system glitch or something that day I went in, but I have seen others reporting similar stories.

On the GS website I see I can get $23.80 for Pokémon Y (under the website's own trade estimate), but I see posting $17 base values. Will I not get $23.80? and yes I do understand no promos stack with that if I do get it.
