Wouldn't the Zelda DS Lite, being a holiday bundle from last Xmas season, still be under warranty? DS Lites have 1 year warranty, so I'm not sure why Nintendo wouldn't fix it under warranty. They should be able to check warranty status from the serial number without a receipt, so I would expect you to be able to get it fixed.
