OMfgZOrs IPODS problem?

What versions of windows do you have.

disconnect the ipod put in the newest version of itunes. Then launch itunes and then connect the ipod. If that don't work I don't know what to tell you. I use my ipod only on my mac there is to much stuff to do to get it on windows.

I tried uploading songs to my ipod from two different computers and it began to overwrite stuff. I think u should just restore it to factory settings with the ipod updater.

Does you computer have a firewire or a USB 2.0 port. When I got mine I only Had a USB 1.0 and the ipod has to have a 2.0 port to work.

Make sure you're not disconnecting the ipod in iTunes after it's finished updating. If you click the little eject button next to the ipod then windows will unmount the ipod and you won't be able to browse it as a portable drive.

To get at the music make sure you have windows set to allow you to view hidden files. There is a hidden control folder on the ipod and all of the music is stored in there. Unforunately the music is spread across a bunch of folders to make it a pain in the ass to retrieve it, but it can be copied this way.

I bet you the guy is using XP. Ipods and XP have some compatibility issues. You must download Service Pack 2.

Everything should be fine once you get the windows update for Service Pack 2.

Solution:
Download the lastest version Itunes
Download Service Pack 2
Enjoy your IPod.
