Always the eloquent one, he is.
[quote name='Rocko']Drawing of the Three? I got that for Xmas, but I'm still reading Gunslinger.
The seires is Dark Tower, by the way, not Gunslinger.

Yeah,
Drawing of the Three. I read the first four books in early high school, and I now own all of them, except the last. I read King's
Everything's Eventual recently, which had a short story about Roland in it, which made me decide to finally re-read the books, as well as the new ones I haven't read yet.
And yeah, I know it's the Dark Tower, but somehow, I've always called them the Gunslinger books. The Dark Tower has always been reserved for The Lord of the Rings, in my mind, although maybe that will change as I re-read the stories and edge closer to the Tower.
I only don't own the final book in hardcover. I'm hoping Amazon brings it back soon for $9.99.
I really liked the first book. King mastered something there, with a nice blend of the literary, showing the darkness and craftiness and reluctant compassion of Roland's mind in a way that I don't believe he achieved in the second novel. But I think I understand the difference, as a lot has to be done in the second novel, wheras the first is a sojourn into wilderness and the heart of a man.
How are you liking it?
