On the fence about getting a PS3

Metal Gear Solid 4 is the only reason I'm getting a PS3. I don't care about Blu-Ray or WiFi.

Although, the substantially lower failure rate of the PS3 versus that of the X360 is a big bonus for me. Additionally, Oblivion GOTY edition is coming out and I've read the framerates are smoother on PS3 (can anyone attest to this? I have no experience on either, I'm just a big Morrowind fan from my Xbox 1 days).


Can someone explain XBL achievements to me? Is it just a slap on the back every time you do something the developer designates as an achievement? Or can you actually do something with the achievements like buy a yacht?

Well one time Old Spice ran a promotion where you applied online and then if you increased your gamer points by 2k or whatever you get a copy of Fusion Frenzy 2. A far cry from a yacht. This has only happened once as well and it was not microsoft's doing.

BTW the 5 free blu-ray's are pretty bad, at least the HD-DVD offer has Casblanca. There really aren't any movies that I'd get on Blu-ray out of that selection on my own accord. But hey, it's five free movies and I can probably ebay them or trade them here to get enough money for kingdom of heaven (which is better than 5 crappy movies COMBINED).

I'm on the fence about getting a Wii, but if I posted the same thing, I don't think 360 fanboys, and PS3 fanboys would come there to talk me out of it. As a matter of I bet the PS3 forums is the only place where people are solely interested in other systems, come to talk trash.

The only true negative thing to say about the PS3 is price...
 
That might be a matter of statistics. Since the MOST people have decided that there is some facet of the PS3 that makes it not for them at this time (based on marketshare), they'll express that.

Compare this to the PRO PS3 crowd. What, 3 people?

oh ya i just thought of another reason and ps3 would be a good buy. The failure rate is around 0.02% compared to the 60% of the RROD box.

Oh get off it I wasn't being too serious :D. Neither of the selections are all that great with the HD-DVD marginally edging out Blu-Ray in my mind. It won't stop me from getting a PS3 and it won't make me get an HD-DVD player. I'll still apply for the five movies. And don't you be insulting Casablanca!
 
lol at the failure statistics. I'm not arguing with your point, but when you make up numbers like that, it makes you look like a gamestop manager.

Yeah, the 360 breaks a lot.

I don't regret it and I only have one game so far. I don't regret not getting a warranty for it either unlike my 360 which was a must. xD
