Seriously,... this is one of my all time favorite movies.
Call me a fag, or a turdburglar,... or a sap,... but this movie touches me,.... EVERY TIME I watch it.

I paid $35 for it,.. when it first came to DVD,... long, long ago.

For this price,.. you shouldn't even consider the OP. I highly recommend it, and if I weren't leaving the country,... I'd buy it for a few of my fellow CAGs!!!

Any movie that can make me cry 3-4 minutes in is a keeper. Especially, since I'm a horror-whore.

I respect your feelings and opinion on this show. But frankly, I thought it was just OK. The special effects were cool but that's about it. I have a copy of it but I am not interested in watching it again.

So...why are you leaving the country? Military? Vacation?

Yea its a good movie, worth 6 bucks to say the least, I cant imagine spending 35 bucks on any single disk dvd.

No, it's a good movie, doesn't make you "a fag, or a turdburgler,...or a sap". I actually think it's an awesome movie.
I had it, but the ex took it. Going to Best Buy today, might have to pick it up again. :)
 
TMNT was cool at the time.
When I watched it last year, I felt nauseous.

The special effects are great, but the story is superb.

Williams and Gooding are phenomenal!

AND yeah,... DVDs were $30 plus tax at one time.
I was in NJ, and the only place that carried the movie when it was released, was Tower Records,.... the most overpriced store around my area.

As for EX's,... I've bougth copies of this movie for about 3 of them. Also picked it up for my family and friends.
I'd say I've bought 10 copies of this movie since release.

I brought it over to my uncle's house once, and after those first 5 minutes of maelstrom,... he told me to take it out. He was all teary-eyed.

Considering he was in prison for half of his life,... I thought that was pretty cool.

Really though,... it's is a top notch production, all around.

Oh god what dreams may come is a god awful movie. Isn't that the first of many dramatic bombs robin williams starred in? A.I., One Hour photo it's like he wanted to destroy his career.
 
No offense, but "What Dreams May Come" ranks as one of the most criminally exploitive films made in the 90's. Filled with dime store spirituality, "What Dreams May Come" ranks probably 3rd on my "movies that I will never get the time back" list.

Though, I have to admit, the special effects were cool. Robin Williams needs to stop doing movies and start hosting a talk show. His legacy is being tarnished with drivel like this.

The movie shines, and stands as a classic in my book.

Hopefully,... others will give it a try, and see for themselves.
If they don't like it, they're out $6.
It's $3 to rent it, so whoop-de-do.

I hope someone enjoys the movie as much as I.

Amen brother. I remember actually laughing out loud during parts of this film when I saw it years ago. Some of the dialogue in it was just awful. To each his own though.

There's no way a talk show by him would be remotely watchable unless he kept a family sized jar of adderall behind the desk.

I watched as much of it as I could handle. As a practicing Christian, the "dime store spirituality" hit me as shallow and a little silly and distracted me too much from the story to the point where I couldn't enjoy it.

At the same time, I certainly have my own movies that mean a lot to me as well - and I'm not really sure what people get out of telling you you're a loser for liking a movie they weren't fond of. My theory is that it's a superiority thing.

Movies I have been mocked for liking/loving:
Legends of the Fall
Titanic
Point Break
Matrix 2 (though I was really disappointed in the last 5 minutes of 3)
The Bachelor (Best Chick Flick for guys, in my opinion)
Hope Floats

Anyway,
 
Haha, Point Break is a movie I can support for feeling guilty for liking. It stars Patrick Swayze! What more needs to be said? Roadhouse is another in this category...

My favorite movie that noone likes.... Summer Rental!
 
I REALLY want to see Legends of the Fall.
I hear it is extremely moody, and well written.

Yeah,... there are some lonely people out there.

I am still a bit of a tard,... but most of my aquaintances respect my opinions,... as they are usually decent.
There is a movie spectrum,.... the Vin Diesel end, and the Sally Field.

Completely diverse communities,... that sometimes stray towards the mean, and end up enjoying the same flick.

I just watched the original tonight after YEARS of having not seen it. I remembered bits and pieces, but I was amazed at how much more often I really had seen the second one when I was younger, because I kept thinking things from the second movie were in the first. It was refreshing to get the movie straight in my mind.

And even after all these years, it's still such a fun movie! Turtle Power! :lol:

I don't think this is a "fag" movie in the least! I thought the movie was a downer though. As beauitful as the scenery was, the movie itself was downright DEPRESSING!

As for TMNT, I could NOT bring myself to get TMNT III. That movie was just too sh*tty to warrant a purchase. Part II: Secret of the Ooze was a fun movie! Vanilla Ice is the shiznit!
 
I love the TMNT altought they are all so stupid at times, they are cool, one of my favorite childhood characters, they have made quiet a comeback, i havn't played their last video game is it any good
 
I found the recent Stephen King adaptation of RIDING THE BULLET to be an effective film both on the horror level and the dramatic level, check it out if you liked What Dreams May Come.

Hamlet - The "To be, or not to be" speech.

In his verbal ponderance on the condition of human existance, "What dreams may come" refers to the thought of what lies behind the final "sleep" (after death).

That's what I got from it. Nice job pointing out the reference. I had not gotten that before and it is a beautiful fit for that movie.
 
Seriously though..... life IS but a dream.

I know it touched lightly on the spiritual material,... but it is the most beautiful rendition of some common amalgomations of religious literature/lore available.

If you truly beleive that your body is the end of the road, then you are very shallow.
The whole individuality issue is where the problem lies.

If you beleive in ghosts, you have a dilemma as well,... as it could just be the Yogi of spectres.

Anyways,... although it has a comic book feel to it,... the movie makes a few valid points, and displays very true human emotions.

It's a movie for deep thinkers, who need some time to relax.

Roadhouse and Point Break are two great movies.
