One Way to Really Save Big On the DDD 20% Sale

CAGiversary!
Well, the sale is finally here, and DDD fooled no one by hiking the prices on popular dvd sets. Some people are finding decent deals on individuals sets, but many wish lists are trashed.

However, I did some testing with the code, and found a great way to save big if you don't mind spending more cash. Instead of buying individual sets or seasons, search for listings that combines all the seasons together. I did this for Smallville, and when you buy the listing for seasons 1 - 4 with the coupon, it comes out to about 19 bucks a set! I wanted to do this for Star Trek TNG Seasons 1 - 7, but looks the listing isnt for the actual dvd sets. It just says Star Trek TNG 7th Seasons for 540.00? Can someone explain this listing?

I do see Star Trek The Original Series Season 2 for 63 bucks after the code. Awesome deal. I'm very excited about this sale.

i want star trek but even with the 20% off codes the set are way overpriced 100bucks per box set is nuts when you could just burned them all off tv for free

While I do agree that $100 is nuts to me its more time and effort wasted on recording them off of TV then it is to buy the official boxset. Besides, the quality that Paramount has done on the boxsets are much better than most TV broadcasts.

If Paramount were to lower the prices on the boxsets to at least $60 a season then I would be far more likely to buy them in due time. Their loss as I know I am not the only one who feels that they are far overpriced.

Oh and slidecage... you never answered me as to what you have against Nintendogs...

......

Great math there. It comes out to $34.55 a piece, which isn't even CLOSE to $19 per set.

I find this slightly interesting, When I look at my normal checkout screen, it's 108.73, so... when I add in the code, it's all of a suddent 83.31, now, I know I'm not the smartes when it comes to math, but 40% off $100 would be $40 off, which... this isn't.

What's the 40% code? The only ones being discussed are for 20%.

*edit : bah, i'm too slow.

Well, I was for some reason thinking that they had a 40% sale, which would be nice, so I automatically just assumed that the first code that popped up dealing with the "DDD sale" would be for 40%.

you can get smallville seasons 1 & 2 for $19.99 or less (from walmart and a few other places) so its not worth it at $34.55 each (IMO)... you should just get seasons 3 and 4 from DDD and the first two from WM...

o about the nintendogs i got one copy for my cousins kids (who has somewhat of a speech problem , dont make their S and R sounds that clear) and game dont pick up on it... Also dont really like how the game is like 99% based in speech.. Not that fun of a game when your trying to watch tv and someone is telling they dog to lye down for the 1 million time

also i thought there would been a lot more to do with the dog.. I got it the first day it came out. played it for around 2 days and it sits every since untouched. my cousin sold her copy on ebay since her kids really couldnt enjoy it

It depends on how you approach the game. I've gotten to the point where I rarely need to call out my dogs names - just a nice poke with the stylist once and they come to me as I really do take good care of them (feed them several times a day, walk them at least once, etc).

To each their own tho....

(Sorry to bring this thread to something off topic)
Can anyone throw out some examples of raised prices?
Not as drastic as some cases but:

Constantine (WS non-deluxe) pre-sale ~$18.50 after-sale ~$21.50

Well, it looks like DDD raised the price on the listing after I posted this.

Yaeh their bundles are great. i'd recommend the Aqua Teen Hunger Force one. Everyone should post the ones that they find some we can aggregate them and make it easier to locate. I believe Samurai Jack also has one.

The raised the sopranos I was thinking of getting. They were all in the low $60 dollar range now they are all about $75 or higher. off of amazon market place they are $40 bucks.

Your not the only one. Believe me, I am fairly certain that now that all the shows/seasons are out on DVD we will either see an eventual MSRP drop or newer versions sold for less with less special features. Other than that, what are they making money on? The people that are willing to spend that much on the DVDs have already done it so now they sit on the shelves.

There's word that starting next year they're gonna do exactly that, drop the MSRP of the Trek sets. I read something about they did a survey asking people if they thought the sets were overpriced.
