Hey everyone recently I got an Xbox Live Gold membership and have started playing on Live. Well now my little bro wants to play on Xbox Live but I don't want him playing with my gamertag. So my question is, would it be possible to get him his own gamertag and play on live without having to pay an extra 50 dollars a month?

Also we would both be on the same Xbox if it makes a difference.

How old is your bro? If you trust him let him use your account. The worst thing that could happen is a temp ban from live. Which you've got to piss a ton of people off for that to happen.

But like the others have said you'll need, one membership for each account.

Highly unlikely. OXM tried to get banned one time from live. They tried for about five days and didnt get much. The only thing they didnt do was say things that were racists

probably something to do with ranked matches :whistle2:|

I've wondered about whether you can have multiple gamertags, too. I don't have a 360 yet, but I plan on getting one fairly soon.

I'm probably just going to go with a silver account on XBL, at least for a while. If my wife and kids want to each have their own gamertags just to keep track of their own acheivements and gamerscores, is that easy enough to do? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Yeah, you can have as many gamertags as your heart desires. Create them through the 360 to get a month of Gold for free. But to get Gold, you have to pay the subscription fee for each account. You can get cards for like $33 off of Buy.com.

I appreciate the tip, and I'll keep it in mind, but the reasons for me to go with a silver account go beyond simple cheapassery. I think in online multi-player, I'd be the guy getting headshot over and over, or accidentally killing my own teammates and pissing everyone off with my FPS incompetence. Playing in a CAG based Madden or 2K Hoops league would be fun (although the smart money would be on me to be the league doormat) but even then my work/sleep schedule would make it tough to commit to the league's play schedule.

For me, XBL will probably mostly be about XBLA games and DLC that adds to the single-player experience.

yeah, he could have his own gold or silver account(with 1 free month) to play offline singleplayer, or online with a GOLD pre-paid monthly card.
