So, I am about 5 hours or so into the game and am enjoying the new control setup and 3D enviornments, but...

Why the hell would use Jean Reno's likeness and voice (French), but not have him read the English dialogue as well? About an hour or so into the game, Jean Reno's character switches from French to English, but they use a different voice actor for the English. Its incredibly distracting and makes you wonder what the hell happened. We know that he can speak english, and there is really not all that much dialogue in the game...

In fact, why not just forget about the English dialogue and just use everyone's native tongue with subtitles.

Jeeze I wish I had a link for ya'...

I remember reading that Capcom was unable to secure the rights to Reno's english voicework. It had something to do with his contract as an actor and some such nonsense....blah blah blah.

I agree with you 100% about the native language with subtitles. That would have rocked. The thing that pisses me off the most is that Reno recorded French and Japanese Dialogue for the Japanese version of the game! WTSF (what the shaq-fu)!!

In other words, Reno wanted too much money. In interviews I've seen with him in gaming mags, he comes off as knowing little about what he's involved in.

I really don't think it had to do with money... I mean why would Capcom Japan be able to afford him (where the dialogue was recorded) and then not be able to do an English voiceover. It is Capcom Japan's dollar isn't it? It doesn't make sense that they would only get Reno to do voicework for the japanese version if he's already in the studio...or does it?

As far as knowing what he's doing, my friend has the making-of DVD, and after watching it -it seemed like Reno knew what he was doing. They do show him playing the game and talking with the developers. The video of him recording voicework in japanese is awesome! He's sooooo in to it. He had me fooled into thinking he knew what he was doing...of course he is an actor. :p

It's not a matter of 'did they have enough money?' It's a matter of 'is he worth his asking price?'

THE WORLD MAY NEVER KNOW.

If you order directly from Capcom USA, they throw in the making-of DVD and a t-shirt. Although the DVD is mostly propaganda for the game there are a few bits of nice behind-the-scenes-stuff. It's really only worth it if you have no choice but to get the game at full price, then the extra shwag offsets the price. Otherwise, you ain't missin' much.

Wait, if I order Onimusha 3 from Capcom USA, they'll give me a free t-shirt and making-of DVD?!?!?!

I don't like the costumes seriously could've they done better same old Panda Suit and a shaf-fuing wack Cowboy suit for Sam. Overall good game still.
If they used subtitles, we would have to read, and videogames can't be in anyway educational. :?
Are u sure....

RPG is all about reading... that how i first start to learn English...

so Videogame can be both educational and enteratian

Everytime when i hold R1 and attack with square. Samanosuke always pulls out his bow and arrow. With Jacques, When i grab someone he kicks them off right away. Is anybody else experiencing this? I think ill need to buy a new controller but im broke!
