yeah...you read that shit right...

I got a small quantity early...for those in NYC.

I will NOT hold one of these for anyone...it's first come first serve. I do believe I have enough to last till close at 11pm.

Price is $54.99 and don't bitch either...if you want to wait till Tuesday to get it cheaper that's your perogative but many are already scooping this up to get it now. Sorry these are NOT Limited Edition versions nor will i have those till Monday.

Also note: I have the Xbox live beta kits that I was selling in the trading forums. I am selling these for $50 but anyone who mentions CAG can get it for $40. The kit includes a communicator, 1 year subscription, and 3 xbox live only games (whacked, motogp, and nfl fever 2003).

Microsoft CAN'T penalize me. They can only penalize those that have a contract with them..since I am not direct MS...I can do as I please. I am an independent store...usually this is NOT an advantage but today it is. :)

Dammit, I was just in Walmart looking at their games. Then I noticed a lone Halo 2 LE sitting on the bottom of the case. I quickly snatched up the clerk who got the game out took it to the register and tried to ring me up, the computer would not allow the sale. Bastards. So close. So very close. I tried to talk my way into her letting me get it as she didn't know jack about games, she then went and asked another dude working there, who knew about the release date and was pretty pissed someone had put it in the case. He apologized and said to come back on the 9th. Gah.

Truth in that too...but even if I wasn't leaving the store...I wouldn't care.
It's MS problem that distribution broke on this. There was rumors 3 weeks ago that early copies would be possible. Of course I salivated at the news. :) Today it is no longer rumor. I have them. I had them shipped to me overnight and knew since yesterday I was getting them but waited until they were in hand to announce.
 
It would be cool if CAGers would do a couple things.

1. Help spread the word that I have Halo 2 early.

2. Point them to this thread to help out CheapyD.

Damn... I would come down to Mutlimedia defender but I placed a preorder at Best Buy.... I was actually thinking of asking you if you had plans to break the street date....alas....I didn't....
 
I think it is early enough to cancel your preorder with BB or whoever...most places offer full refund or at least credit if you cancel a pre order.
 
halo 2 is also available in western michigan. check the various Meijer stores in Grand Rapids. i have heard thay they are in the case and are selling today.
 
Nice of you to post this. I'm not looking for Halo2 but if you happen to get Metroid Prime 2's or MGS3: Snake Eaters early, I'll drive into the city for that :)

How wrong of you to say that. A man in business with a game people are in demand for can charge a little more. And when it comes to $50 or $55 I dont think it matters. At least its not the $80 or whatever my parents had to pay for FF3 (SNES) when that first came out. For shame Statix.
Defender has a great store and is a great asset to the CAG.
 
Oh my everluvingoodness!!! Gotta love the crazy people with tons of cash to toss around on ebay, 100-265$ for the LE in hand ready to ship. My personal advice defender EBAY!!! dont sell for 54.99$ GO MAKE A KILLIN!!! Thats just like amazing some people cant wait like 4 days, insane.

Shit. I'm in Grand Rapids. If I already didn't have Halo 2 CE pre-ordered from Gamerush, I'd probably pick it up today.

He's doing you a favor by selling it to you early. Oh no, $5 more, thats terrible! Why, you could buy... A happy meal at McDonalds? Or maybe half a pack of cigarettes in NYC? $5 is gouging when its for bottled water. $5 more for something thats $50 isn't much, my KB Toys does that for every game they sell, and they don't release early.

Just look at the extra $5 as payment for bragging rights.

Sorry fellas no LE's.

Please keep in mind on my price that I had to pay a distrubutor more for these and also had to pay for overnight fedex shipping.

When the game come on Tuesday and I begin selling it at $49.99 (or less) then I will actually make more profit than I do on the ones I have now.

I like to make an extra couple bucks when I can but I prefer to sell fast and make customers. Also I am hoping to sell extra controllers, live kits, and other xbox items to make more money.

Considering that copies are going for seriously inflated prices on eBay - i.e. into the hundreds of dollars - he could actually be charging a lot more. I'd say only an extra $5 when he could be making double the total cost he'll be selling these for is pretty cool...there's nothing at all preventing him from doing that but the fact that he doesn't seem to want to. Call it kindness, call it what you want, but he is accepting less money to sell this product - and that's pretty damn cool.
 
Well... sorry but I'm gonna pass defender. I have a ton of homework and an SAT course tomorrow and a dinner with my grandparents tomorrow. If you had the LE, it would've sealed the deal but I'll hold off. I'm sure you'll sell them though!

I personally invite any merchants in Charlotte NC (surrounding area) to charge me $5.00 extra to get H2 today. I will thank you for doing so.
 
So I'm in Stamford and it'll take me about 4 hours waiting for train, finding directions, etc etc, do you think you'll still have some? I wouldn't want to come in from CT and then nothing.

No one's being forced into buying it, and for it being shipped overnight to get into his hands today is easily a $5 cost. If he's passing that to someone who needs to have it in their hands today, then that's their choice to pay the money.

If someone wants to buy it today and pay for it with a $5 surchage, that's OK with me. $50 is another matter entirely. $5 is reasonable.

If you don't think it's reasonable, that's your opinion. Defender's offering it to people and someone will buy it. If I was in town and didn't already have it on order, I'd go and get it.
 
OK, I'm catching the train from stamford. I hope you have some left. You must have gotten about 200 of them if you say you have enough till 11:00pm

He could ebay his entire lot and easily make more than $5 more per game. $5 extra is a favor on his part.

And those beta kits are a collectors item in itself, let alone the nice deal you're getting. Sure it might not be worth much, but you'll have bragging rights down the road when XBL has been around for a long time.

And it is confirmed that Meijer is breaking the date on these in the midwest. So if anyone at MS asks, just say Meijer :p
 
Wow, to travel from Conn. to get Halo 2... now thats har...crazy?

Too bad, I would've come in and picked up a copy but alas I'm not in NYC because of college.
 
I'd go but it's like a 35 min drive from my house, plus with it being rush hour now the Holland Tunnel will be jammed up. If it was for the LE, MAYBE but I can wait another 3 days.... =) Cool that you broke the date though.

I posted a thread on IGN about it, with a link to this thread and what happens? They locked the thread!
They edited my post to say this:
"LOCKED ~ Illegal distribution of Halo 2..."

How the heck is it illegal? Since it's legitimate copies I don't understand why they locked it. :x
 
IGN is not moderated by lawyers...it's modded by nubs.

They were probably more upset about the CAG link than anything else.
 
I guess, they are so strict when it comes to that kind of stuff. They said they'll even ban someone if they post impressions of the game on their boards before November 9th.

:?: outside of California the west coast is very clean as long as you ignore the Nuclear reactor in washington and you don't mind a lot of rain and at least unlike someplaces on the east coast we don't have acid rain.
