Its always nice to have a wired 360 controller as a backup, but this is especially good since its cheaper than a wireless one and makes an excellent PC gamepad.
 
fuck, goHastings sent me 2 sets of emails with 2 different Order IDs. I dunno if the CC was charged twice or not but the goHasting.com account only shows one of them in my account. Sent them an email...
 
Is this dead? Site shows it's back to $40.
This is especially great what with the Steam sale going on right now. I'm considering this, I have the wireless receiver for pc, but it kinda sucks. There's no way to turn off or disconnect the wireless controller, so you have to pull the battery pack just to get it to turn off.
Lame. They may have updated the software, I don't know, I haven't used it in forever.
I don't know if it's been mentioned, but for anyone wondering the cord is 9 feet long.
 
GoHastings just shipped my order today and I ordered on Sunday. Kind of wish I had just got it from Amazon for $5 more and I would have had it today with prime shipping.....

Since I just did standard shipping it probably will not come until next week so I am thinking I will just order a new one from Amazon and refuse the GoHastings package.

Anybody know GoHastings return policy? Going to shoot them a email. I just want to make sure they will refund the shipping if I refuse the package.

I've never returned a packaged to them so I don't know. Has anyone done this?

Well 2 showed up at my door this morning, fucking morons just replied my email 20 mins ago. Now I got to send it back and then they'll refund me. Never buying from them again.

My order from 12/26 just arrived today 1/5, and they sent me a MADCATZ XBOX 360 Wired Controller????!!!! My order clearly states MICROSOFT Xbox 360 Controller. Called them and they will only give me a refund for the cost of the controller and not refund me the shipping cost plus the shipping cost to send it back to them.

This is BS. I have ordered stuff from them before and never had a problem until now.

Odd... I ordered this and got the official controller. Hit and miss I guess.

I talked to a supervisor and he told me they sold out of the official xbox 360 wiired controllers so they have been sending out the MadCatz ones. He said I could return it for a full refund including shipping and he provided me with a prepaid USPS shipping label also so if this happens to anybody else and your rep is making you pay shipping just talk to a supervisor.
 
I got mine yesterday and the box was obviously opened. Both sides of the bottom edges were torn so that the controller could be immediately pulled out.

I tried it out and the controller had no problem and felt and looked new though, so I wasn't too upset. If anything, the controller was "like new" quality, which while disingenuous, isn't a huge disappointment at $22. I didn't closely check if it was first party, but it looked official.

I also got two emails. This was my first order from gohasting so I assumed that's just what they do. I'll double check tonight.

This is one of the reasons I still prefer to buy from Amazon even if it costs a few more dollars. They've generally been good to me, except for the time they shipped me a opened power supply in a beat-up box and missing manual from "Amazon return center".

Maybe a slightly off-topic question: what are some awesome PC games to play with my new controller? I already have an Xbox, so I'm looking for games that aren't available there.

Hard question since keyboard + mouse are better for most PC games that weren't lazy ports.

A controller is useful for games that have crappy ports and 2d platformers. I bought mine because of the recent Steam sale. Going to use it for Super Meat Boy and maybe Batman: AA, but you might already have those games on your XBOX.

Yeah, psyched to play some older ports with mods, for example. I guess I'm mostly curious about indies that couldn't/wouldn't get on the consoles. In that vein, I was playing Zombie Driver last night, and it was a ton better with the controller, because of the analog sticks/triggers.
