Hardly the deal of the century, but it was $49.99 just yesterday (I know because I check daily for the elusive used copy). Not bad for those who have to have it new and missed it when it was $35 at CC. Other stores show it at $49.99 to $59.99, but I wouldn't be surprised to see similar drops elsewhere soon.

Been waiting for a good price drop for this one and I'm still waiting for one on the Crisis zone and time crisis 3.
Hopefully this won't be its last price drop and it will go down one more to 29.99.
Its $30 right now...editing OP.

Sorry I dropped the ball, err, drum. Thanks for the edit, CheapyD.

I'd like to try multiplayer but I don't want to buy another copy of the game just for that. Is multiplayer any good? Is ther a way to just get a drum?

Just print out the page and pricematch with sears store

Pickup: Taiko Drum master w/ Drum $26.99 and DOA: Ultimate $16.99 plus taxes ;)

So, what's the hold-up now? :D

Hmmm... I have $20 in credit at the local EB. Wonder if they have it B&M at that price. I've been wanting this for a while now...
For those that own this game, how is it? Worth 30$? How about for someone with just a mild interest in rhythm games?
Small song selection, and not the best rhythm game. That being said, I had alot of fun with it before I put it down, and it has the Katamari Damacy theme, so I'd say it's easily worth 30. Then again...I AM a fan of music games, so take that for what it's worth.

I'm tempted on this one. I didn't get Donkey Konga because of the song selection, but Taiko Drum Master looks like it has some better ones. I've spent so much damn money on games lately, though...

Holy Crap! I must have had a premonition when I said that on that day. Didn't think it would come down to $30 so soon after being 39.99. thanks OP and Cheapy, time to pick one up now.

Sears B&M price matches online ads? can you verify this anyhow, or is this YMMV

i want another drum

Yeah, it's really good and durable, it actually has less nonsensitive spots than the drum that comes with the game, so I usually use it more than the Namco one. The only bad thing is that it doesn't make as loud a hollow noise when you hit it...so it's not quite as satisfying to hit real hard. Then again, taht may be why my Namco one is so unsensitive...

Small song selection?! Does it have as much as the Donkey Konga game and at least as good as that one? Been waiting for this one to drop, but if it doesn't have a good selection then I need to think some more.

It has 31 songs, and I think most of them are pretty good. The only ones I don't like are some of the Namco Original songs, like Don Rangers and the Ridge Racer theme.

Have they announced a sequal for this, as they did for Konga 2? (Well, they are on Konga 3 in Japan, but still...)

...really? Most of the songs I like are the ones that aren't licensed songs.

I wrote a review for the game here. I really like the game as a whole, but I think the songlist could have been better. DBZ theme and Jimmy Neutron theme? Come on. Hopefully they'll come out with at least one more (I'm hoping at least 2 ;) ) with more songs each game.

Hope that doesn't come across as site whoring, by the way =O

No, it is $29.99 if you add it to your cart. A lot of the prices are showing wrong before adding the items to the cart.
I wonder Namco release more Taiko games in the US. Thought it very popular in japan :)
It is. When I was in Japan right after Christmas, at least around the area I was there seemed to be one Taiko machine in most arcades around. In fact that seemed to be the ONLY music game that was popular around there now. I saw like maybe THREE DDR machines around period and a couple of IIDX's as well as a Beatmania III the Collection.
Namco won't make a sequel because this has been selling like shit in the U.S. If Namco was smart they WOULD release a new one here but have the Japanese songs instead of American one's, at least then it would sell somewhat to the hardcore music gamers. They lost out on sales with this one because of the price and frankly no one was interested, mainstreamwise. However it's not like the person would see it at an average arcade.
