This isn't really a deal but considering this item sold out and has been going for crazy prices on eBay and such, I figured it's worth posting for those who might have wished they had jumped on it earlier.

It'll be in stock and ready to ship March 11th after being sold out for a while so I'm guessing they printed up some more copies.

*BTW, link might show the standard edition but just select the Premium Edition if it does.

EDIT* Sorry kids, that sold out fast...

Selected the Premium edition and nothing but sellers and not Amazon offering. Either I missed it or it's just the regular edition up for sale. Darn it. #-o

I wish I could just get the guide for this game in good condition for a good price. I've ordered TWO so far both listed as Brand New. The firsts back cover was bent and the binding ripped. The 2nd I just got today and overall was OK except for the binding and when I looked at the binding closer I noticed the front cover was ripped in that area...

Man I really like getting LE games but I don't think I can justify buying a LE for this game for full so late. The regular edition is going down in price and used at gamestop will be a lot cheaper with a coupon.

I have had this game sealed for a couple of months now,I didn't really think it was rare, I just cant find the time to play it, this and SFIV CE.
where did you hear such thing?
It was an old rumor. Bandi Namco shot it down shortly after saying it was not going to be released for the PS3. Look at what happened with Eternal Sonata though... :)

Wait... so is ToV not preorderable for this upcoming shipment? Is it a 1st come 1st serve thing for the March 11th shipment? And does anyone know what time zone Amazon.com runs on (as in, when is their midnight?)? I know it's WA-based, so is it PST? I definitely want to get my hands on one of these...

 Do you know when? I've been keeping my eyes peeled for a deal on this game for a while, and it's proved to be quite elusive.

Man, i picked this up on release, kinda glad I did now.

I do think that there is still one in my store though, will have to let people interested know that it's a rare find

Am I missing something here? Besides the metal box (which is kinda cool) what exactly does this version contain that would justify an extra $15+ over the standard edition? I see that there’s a soundtrack CD and a code for some bonus content (which many think will never be released), but I’m not so sure why people covet this version so much. Those extras don’t seem worth it to me. Especially when you’re asked to spend an additional $15 on top of today’s inflated game prices.

I guess if you’ve got money to burn and/or you like having special editions of games, it might be worth it to you. But when I see people all geeked up because they got one of these, or people disappointed that they missed out, it makes me wonder if I’ve missed something.

I'm a huge fan of tin cases and soundtracks, that's why I spend the extra 10 bucks over the standard edition.... but i'm a dork that way.

It's got a dozen or so pages of art at the end of the manual and a soundtrack disc. I guess it's silly but for a few dollars extra you get some bonus items and a fancier package. I got mine for $65 so I didn't actually pay more than MSRP after taxes.

If the game sees a price drop I would definitely consider selling off the special edition for a high price.

Crap, this is the second time I missed it. It was in stock earlier this year, but I decided not to buy it for some stupid reason. Oh well, maybe someone will cancel their order or something.

Given the track record of tales games in the US, I decided to get it at release. The steelbook case got dented during transport, quite ironic given that a plastic case would have arrived unscathed, but it's not like I'm going to resell it, anyway.
Anyway, it says Premium, not Limited edition, so I was more surprised that they reprinted the game in the first place than the fact that they decided to reprint the more expensive edition.

damn....i didn't know there was a premium edition for this game.....thanks for the post vinny....was going to purchase this game used at gamestop but i might just get the premium

I was pretty sure this wasn't rare at all, especially since it saw a huge drop at one point on Amazon. I own it already though. Still waiting to hear about that gift...

Wow didn't realize this was rare when I picked it up before Christmas on Amazon. Like a typical CAG I still have yet to play it...

I ordered a copy from Game Quest Direct a month or so ago at 64.99 and they mysteriously lost their stock. Now I see they have plenty on Amazon for double the price. I guess I'll never order from them again.

Wow, that's so crazy. Not too surprising though... Tales games, and especially the guides tend to raise in value over a short period of time. Just look at the Abyss guide, it goes for $50+ on ebay and the game still sells around its list price. I had to pay $30 for my Symphonia guide as well, though I think that one is cheaper now.

I never wait when it comes to Tales merchandise, the fandom is too huge. Still waiting for my pre-order bonus from ToS 2, though. :/

I noticed that too as I had already looked at their main site while searching for a copy. What kind of a reputable business does that?

it sucks but they are the one funding out a lot of the reprints.

I know it's regional, but I picked up the regular edition at my local Meijer for $35 a couple of weeks ago. That was their regular price.

Hope this helps someone,
G~

I'm not surprised, they did that in the past too.

Thanks for reminding me, I think I saw a copy at my Meijers. Now I really hope that I get the $5 coupon this week.

I said "reputable." Best Buy, Amazon, and even GameStop (!) don't hold the final 50 copies of rare games in order to auction them off to the highest bidders. This makes GameQuestDirect worse than GameStop in my eyes, and that is saying a lot.

They're game resellers that happen to have an internet store and some connections. They aren't trying to be a mainstream retailer.

This is why GQD and CAG can never be friends (even though we've tried a few times)-- GQD will never put up a worthy cheap ass deal and CAG will scoff at legitimate collector's prices.

They did offer CAG discount on the fatal frame reprint.
