$20... this a good deal?

Realistic Military Sim Game... either you love it or don't.

Looks like a great game at a great price =) Just gonna wait a little and see what every1 else thinks about it =S Thanks for the heads up though =)

Co-op play is very good. However, IIRC, if you die, you start all the way back at the beginning of the level, like Demons Souls. So you have to get it right the first time and really work as a team.
Teammate AI in any mode is dumb as hell. I watched AI launch rockets into the back of my friend's head.
That being said, I'd still recommend it at this price, esp. if you love co-op games.

Very slow and methodical shooter. Don't go into it thinking it's even as action-packed as Ghost Recon. There's lots of huge expanses of land you have to explore. Most missions take nearly 30 minutes to complete. Confrontations are typically long range and the shooting mechanic doesn't really feel too great, but there's enjoyment to be had if you're looking for something different from a shooter.

I wasn't really a fan of shooting tiny little dots from hundreds of yards away -- but I did pick the game up from Gamefly and will have to give it another try

this, I bought this game while amazon doing $80 game $40 credit promotion last year
totally enjoyed the atmosphere, IMO OF:DR is a decent game, it is certainly the only realistic tactical shooter available on console, GR is way too easy

also for the scope of the map, the framerate is pretty steady, a solid 20hr+ campaign experience if you play the highest difficulty

I love this game. As you raise the difficulty level they take away more checkpoints and nav points and other parts of your HUD. The AI difficulty never actually changes. So if just want to play the game to have fun don't jack up the difficulty level and you can restart from checkpoints when you die.

This was a really sweet game, if you go in knowing that it's not a run and gun type of game. Checkpoints are fairly far between(or nonexistant if you set the higher difficulty), so you've always got that sense of failure hanging over your head.

For $20 its a good deal, but even better at gamefly for $13.

You fail me yet again, Star_Scream. Just kidding.

Well, I'm glad to see you all liked it. I personally thought it was TERRIBLE. This is definitely a shooter-sim. Also, as someone stated above, your AI teammates are terrible. Play with a friend. Not worth $19.99....possibly worth $12.99 though.

This game is horrible. Avoid at all costs. Pick up the original Operation Flashpoint for $5 used at your local used game store and enjoy that incredible game instead.

I bought this during one of Steam's sales for a whopping $5 and I didn't even consider that worth my money. I want my several hours and $5 back.

Avoid by all means.
Isn't the Free shipping just for Gamefly subscribers?
Yes, I think he was just assuming that it would have free shipping with the current sale they are having. I'm still under debate about getting this one though.
