I was on my lunch braeck at work and desiddend to get a magazine to read so i picked up OPM without lokking at the price. When it got rung up it was $9! I don't know why mabye i was really bord but i bought the magazine. So i looked threw it and when i got to the end i relized it was 104 pages so at $9 and 104 pg thats about 9 cents a page and half of them are ads. Now it is nice that the magazine does come with a demo dicse but when i played it it froze up 50 million times :x . So form my fun time with OPM i'v lernd never to buy one again!
 
everytime I try to play the demo in the OPM this month(the one with def jam new york and Demon stone) it freezes, how do u fix this? the disc is PERFECT xcondition
 
Ive founf that a lot of my discs dont work right and certian demos freeze up or dont load correctly. Not sure if this is a universal thing, its never really bugged me because I have a paid sub so its alot less then $9
 
OPM is a hunk of garbage. The only thing worth anything is the demo disk, and even that isn't that great cause most of the time they just keep feeding you rehash movies and other crap.

i've heard of this happening to OXM discs.......have you tried boiling the CD?!?
 
Well sometimes I buy these type of mags at airports cause I'm so bored. I try not to though, especially OPM since it's expensive.
 
Didn't mags without demos used to be $3.99 just about 5 years ago? The hell?

OPM isn't worth $9 IMO, even with the demos.

I may be mistaken, but I seem to remember reading some gloss at one point in OPM saying that the demo discs "may not function optimally" as the demos are all works in progress, or something. I think it also said that OPM isn't responsible for this (some how) and won't replace one.

For what it's worth, I really like demos. For example if I hand't played the Psi-ops demo, I might never have realized that it is pure, unaltered ASS, and might have ended up playing it, since most reviewers gave it 8s and 8.5s
 
I like OPM, and especially those quirky Japanese demos. I was playing that fish one, I found it to be fun. It's coming out in the States, maybe I'll rent it. Besides why pay 9 bucks when you can get a 3 year subscription for 40 bucks. That's like 1.11 an issue. Anyone can afford that.

Maybe D4rkewolfe misread the subscription fee.

I think OPM is a pretty good magazine and the demos have saved me from making some bad purchases. In fact, some demos are awesome. I probably spent more time playing the Hot Shots Golf demo then I have with 3 or 4 of my full games. Plus, the trailers and cheats are a nice extra, too. $9 an issue is too much, but the $40 yearly subscription seems pretty legit.
