Hmmm... She could be an android. I didn't think about that. An android is part human and part robot, correct? Neurotoxins would still work. The things on her legs are basically like the higher performing prosthetic type limbs that people use in sports, so I am not sure if that is a give away that she is a android. The developers said that testers questioned why she didn't get hurt when she fell from tall spots like you would in Half Life2, so they added those. It is possible that they may of added story elements along with them.
Seems like there is going to be at least a second Portal. I was playing through again with the developers commentary and right now I am on Test Chamber 16. A comment by Erik Wolpaw 3/3 states " This first portal game doesn't reveal all of it but we crammed a lot of little details into the environment."
