Orange Box Price

CAGiversary!
With the Gamefly sale of Portal 2 for cheap, I thought I would also buy The Orange Box, so I can play the original Portal. This leads me to my question. Why the fuck is The Orange Box for PS3 selling for around $50 USED? This seems a little ridiculous for an older game, especially when the 360 versions is only around $20.

The way i understand it the PS3 Orange Box had framerate issues leading to an early supply cut. Valve/Ea didnt put much effort into really fixing it either. Thus making the copies a little harder to come by. Internet has some articles confirming this.

To add to this - Valve pretty much said fuck Sony at the time. They have since changed their tune, but Gabe was fairly harsh on Sony early on in the latest gaming cycle. It wasn't until he learned that Sony would actually work with him to allow cross-platform gaming that he changed his tune.

not quite ps3, but you can pick it up on steam for pretty cheap iirc. that's what i did so i could play portal before 2 came out. runs fine on a non-gamer oriented mac mini.

(i was trying to score a copy of the orange box myself, when my friendly neighborhood GS employee pointed out it was cheaper and ran better on steam... of course, you have to have a computer to do this, but...where are you posting from if you dont? ;)

His smartphone or tablet?

I am using a 8 year old computer that is really, really slow. I only use it for web browsing, and word processing. There is no real need to upgrade it with what I use it for. My college is supplying me with a high- end laptop this summer before I start school, so if I upgraded now it would be a waste.

This is the best workaround. No DLC or anything for this game so you are fine.
