I've taken the FAQ from the other thread & pretty much just pasted it here without any changes made to it. You can find this FAQ at the bottom of this thread past the game list. The first list is the current game list. The second list is the original clearance list.

Consider yourself lucky if you find any titles from the second list, also most everything on the second list should be a big YMMV as most of those titles are now out of the system &/or have been pretty much bought up by everyone by now.

Alrighty then, here is the new and improved Kmart Clearance list. All titles are in alphabetical order according to their platform. The listings will be as follows: UPC - Game Title - Price.

Any game title that I've put in BOLD is missing the full 12 digit UPC & is represented with zeros. Any missing info you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Most of the prices will be listed according to info I get from inventories. However, if 3 people can confirm the same price on a certain game, then I'll change the listed price to reflect it. I'll try my best to keep this updated as much as possible.

All updates on pricing will be done as I find them and/or posts from you guys/gals. I just updated some prices for select games that I found recently. Any price that I just changed has a v next to the price. There may still be a few prices out of whack, but for the most part they're current.

Remember if you have a UPC that we need please PM me so I may update the zeroed UPC's. Thank you to everyone contributing info in this thread!

Below you will find another game list. This is the original clearance list that should mostly be YMMV by now. All prices below are the last known prices reported, but many are out of the system and will now depend on the employee you get, the tag on the game and your own negotiating skills.
I've not included UPC's, but I do have most of them & can add them later if there is enough demand for them. Good luck finding anything on this list!;)

FAQ

Q: Why was this thread created?
A: Because there are multiple threads floating around, and its useful to consolidate. THis one will have the OP constantly updates so you don't have to go digging.

Q: Are these prices YMMV?
A: No, they shouldn't be. I currently have 10 K-Marts in my shopping radius, and they've all been consistent. At one time it was thought that they were YMMV, but I'm pretty sure it was instead employee incompetence at keeping prices updated.

EDIT: Some people are reporting prices that are YMMV, but I am hesitant to mark the deal as such. If you get a different price, it seems to be the exception to the rule, not a true YMMV where it is hit or miss. I'd say these prices are 90% accurate.

Q: An employee said the price was higher than what's on the list.
A: Get the game scanned at the register.

Q: The employee got that price gun and said it was higher than what's on the list.
A: GET THE GAME SCANNED AT THE REGISTER. The gun is incorrect sometimes.

Q: Can I use the price checker thingies?
A: YES! Brilliant idea! They will give you an accurate price. Also, if you have the problem of useless employees not opening the cases for you, you can print off the UPC codes and check them at the price checker.

Q: How can I help?
A: Multiple ways:
- Get a job at K-Mart so we have an inside man
- Post the prices of the games you get
- Write down the prices of games you do not get, then post those too

Q: When are items marked down?
A: Once a month, near the middle of the month.

Q: Does this have anything to do with the weekend 50% off sales K-Mart usually runs?
A: No. While some of these games used to be on the list, this is completely seperate. None of these games are on the 50% list anymore and will not be reduced during these sales.

Q: What if I bought a game at a higher price and it gets reduced? Can I get a price adjustment or a return/rebuy?
A: Chances are VERY SLIM. K-Mart does not do price adjustments on clearance items. A return/rebuy might be possible, but most Kmarts do not employee people with the mental capacity to fully understand this concept.

Q:Can I price check the games without getting into the cases?
A: Yes, thanks to this UPC document from TimTucker. You can scan these at self scanners located in most K-Marts, but note that sometimes prices may not be accurate
Old Link: http://www.timtucker.com/games/kmart_upcs.doc
New Current Link http://www.timtucker.com/games/kmart_upcs_2.doc

Q: What if the price is higher than what's on the list?
A: Then your store has not done markdowns left. Ask them if they have any pending PCLs and perhaps they can do it for you, or just wait it out. Also, you could try a return/rebuy if you have another local store that did the drops. Use the UPC sheet to check this

Q: What if a price doesn't come up? It says "Check shelf tag for pricing".
A: This means that the game was at 90% off, and for some reason it was scheduled to be marked down further. If you have a cool employee, you can get games for cheap. If you have a game with outdated tags, you could be in for a hassle. This is similiar when Target marks things down for salvage.

Q: Are these markdowns YMMV?
A: NO. These are universal nationwide prices. If you arent getting them, its your stores problem and doesnt indicate a larger problem as a whole.

Q: How are things marked down?
A: AFAIK, it can be done manually via gun, or it can be done en masse at the register. If you want further details, we are currently looking for a CAG to take one for the team and get a job at K-Mart to infiltrate and learn their secret methods.

Q: What games will drop further?
A: As a GENERAL RULE, games at 1.00, 1.50, 2.00, 3.00, 4.00 are at 90% off AND WILL NOT DROP FURTHER. Games ending in .99 will drop 2 bucks at a time in random intervals.

Q: What do I do with all these games?
A: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/...ad.php?t=95481
I got this website from this piece of shyte. I want the administrator of this site to know that this individual has ruined any chance of obtaining additional clearanced items at our Kmart location.

This individual was extremely rude, and security warned me to keep a watchful eye out for possible theft because of his irratic/rude behavior.

Yes you, I am the foreign gentleman who helped you last night. Instead of politely inquiring with me for help, you took it upon yourself to search through everything, and tried to play games with me to see if you could get a cheaper price.
Wow. I call bull on this. someone is j/k or wanting attention.

Here, class, we have an example of the "employee-who-owns the store" and takes their $8-11/hr position in retail a bit too seriously.

Your behavior caught the attention of our sales manager who informed me to manually go through the entire inventory of games, and ensure that any item below a certain price point, would be adjusted back to the original full price.

I'm sure the district manager and the suits above him are going to love the fact that your store bucked the trend on inventory they told the sales manager to clearance. When your store has excess inventory long after the others, and can't move 4-5 year old games, guess which "expendable" employees who made the call will get canned?

I was so upset with you because you bought several things that I was planning on purchasing for my children after the store closed.

these have been on sale for some time. Sob story for sympathy. You found out they were on sale while you were on duty and couldn;t do anythign about it. Be smart like Target employees and pull the merchandise aside before the store opens.

I hope you are happy. The entire department has been warned by our sales manager to keep an eye out for you, and direct any questions you may have directly to his attention.

Wow - can you make it any MORE difficult to buy at Kmart? Tell me agian, how many times has your company filed for bankruptcy?

Lets all keep in mind that part of the reason WHY these games are on clearance in the first place is that they cannot sell, heck at my kmart they have trouble moving the 2$ games that are not major titles, the only one game i have seen sell is pokemon ruby at 17 or 10$ a game, because its a major title and a very popular one.

Also because there is never an employee around to open the case to get someone a game, and since the games are all locked up in those cases, what other choice do we have but to get someone to open the case. Sometimes this can be a huge hassle and can take up to 30 min, there have been times where i have waited a VERY long time just to get an employee to open the cases. This is another reason why these games are on clearance, because kmart cannot come up with a secure way where the customers can eaisly access the games they want to buy. Also employees at Kmart are supposed to be helpful, if someone wants to rummage through the cases, then they have every right to, since they are buying merchandise and kmart should be dedicated to helping the customer, and again since the games are locked up in a case, we have no other choice if we want to look through the selection of the games offered. I am sure kmart's corporate would LOVE to hear what is going on in this post, an employee that clearly does not want to help customers when they are buying merchandise.

If someone wanted to buy games that was an employee there, they should have either put them out of sight or bought them on the spot, there is no excuse for this whining. When merchandise is on the floor its open to all customers regardless of who wants to buy it, if you want it for yourself that bad do something and hide it or purchase it right away.

The post by the kmart employee that did not want to help is the post of the year definitly, i totally agree with that one.

Let me drop some knowledge on you jackball. I believe the CAGer on this and not you.

Most of the k-mart employee's have no idea how the sales work. I went there and found a copy of shadow hearts covenant last week that rang up as listed price.

I just told them exactly what happened and mentioned that several other people I know had their k-marts look up the last price they sold at. They had me wait a bit as they needed a manager to do it but he went it and looked thru the system and sold it for $5. He was actually very nice.

I love how that so called "employee" has the authority to over-ride the prices corporate office issued. Like others have posted there is a reason those games are clearanced.
Here, class, we have an example of the "employee-who-owns the store" and takes their $8-11/hr position in retail a bit too seriously.
I suspect that you're overestimating what Kmart employees make. ;)

very likely. Depends on where the store is, though.

Now, if he were a smart employee he'd start reading CAG and boosting his income by reselling the games as they go on clearance...but no, he whines to his sales manager. Not too bright, now, is it?

How did they go about finding the last price? None of the K-Marts around here know how to do that, but maybe I could explain it to them if I knew how it was done. :whistle2:|

I have no idea. They had a manager take the game into the back and he was gone for 15-20 minutes and then he said it was $4.99. For all I know he made that price up since I think it was either $2 or $3 at last price.

It appears that the employees main gripe was that "IO" was "rude". Doesn't appear that he wasn't willing to help the dink. But I'm sure in true "whoreder" fashion, some CAG dink rolls up to a clearance, and starts acting like they've been walking through a desert, and suddenly stumbles upon a well with water, only to find that it's a friggin mirage. .
Are the greatest hits and platinum hits also part of this sale??
That's more like it. . . .get back to the main topic of this thread. . . .GAMES you dinks!!

They have to use the handheld scanner gun to look it up
They have to use the handheld scanner gun to look it up
I've never heard of that way... the only way I know of is going to the back where the main computers are, and manually going through the database and looking it up that way.

It does take a good 10 - 15 minutes.

Well I did ok..Got Mario Golf for 8.00 and about 6-7 copies of Mech Assault 2 for XBOX. Which I had to call an employee to go through the bottom of the case. I did fins MGS:TS and Conflict Vietnam both of which rang up PRICE REQUIRED. I told the guy (who just started the job) that means its a penny or $3. I couldve took advantage of this guy cause he was asking me what to do..Receipt tape is a paper trail leading right back to him if he was to sell it to me for a penny! I just couldnt do it.

He just looked at me and I told him to an Inventory check on the games and see. He didnt know how..so he called his supervisor...then her supervisor called another supervisor..upon seeing This BEAST I knew I didnt have a snowballs chance of getting them. Then she pulled out the Price gun...

Conflict Vietman XBOX..29.99
MGS:TS 49.99

As Marked..I laughed...Oh well...

2 weeks ago when I got some out of the system games, they took the handheld gun and scanned the games and most were coming up for $1.00 (I heard them say it also displays what the store paid for the game). So maybe the gun didn't get the last selling price but got some other price (since they were never $1.00 before they went out of the system). I didn't get the games for $1.00 though since the manager told me he could give me 90% off of the stickered price which I was happy with (since a game that should have been $2 was $1.60 since it was tagged $16.00)

does any one have a copy of pokemon ruby or sapphire that they bought for $10 at kmart.... my kmart is all out and i want one of those versions after buying pokemon leaf green i have been craving some more pokemon.... can any one help me out here?

Almost last batch of reports from me:

Not a lot to choose from, but Ill be damned if the store wasnt organized.

Massillon
Feel the Magic - $3
GBA Wireless Messenger - $3.50
Xbox RF Adapter - $2
Nyco xbox live speaker thingy that goes on your controller so you don't need a headset - $2. This thing looks kinda neat.

North Canton
Oddworld Xbox - $3
Getaway Black Monday - $3
Mechassault 2 - $2
Namcomuseum Xbx - $4

I have a couple more stores that I will either hit tomorrow night or monday, and then Im done for a while. Or until next month when all that $8 cube stuff goes to $4 :D

Dave

Found a feel the magic only to have it ring up at $30 today. I did manage to grab a couple of games for trade-in bait though.

World Championship Poker (XBOX)$1
Ace Combat 4 (PS2) $2
Goldeneye (XBOX) $2 This rang up at $10 at another location

Darn! I wish I could find Shadow Hearts Covenant, Ace Combat 4 or Enter the Matrix here, not for trade-ins but for my own collection.

Better an opportunist than a troll.

I wouldn't be surprised if you were the one who posed as a kmart employee earlier in the thread... fits your M.O. on this board, doesn't it? I don;t recall you doing much to contribute to CAG, other than insult people. I left plenty of stuff at the store and gave the location.

Never engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed person...

anyone have any luck at the redwood city, hayward, or san mateo kmarts? over a 30 min drive for me and i've read before they usually don't have anything. would like to get some cheap gc games in anticipation for the wii though.

Does the GBA E-reader work on a DS-Lite? I saw it for $4...They also had Mario Party card for $9.99...What the hell are these...Are they worth it?

I went in and got some trade-in fodder as well at the same deserted K-mart I got most of my loot from in June:

Sly 2 (PS2) x2 - $4 each
Pac-Man World 2 (XBX) x 2 - $4 each
Harry Potter Azakbahn whatever (XBX) x2 - $3 each
The Getaway Black Monday (PS2) - $3
EyeToy (just camera) - $3
Zelda 4 Swords (GC) - $2 - list says $6

Is Zelda 4 Swords any good without GBAs and friends? :p Or can you even play it without GBAs?

E-Reader will not work on any DS system. Mario Party-e was probably mistagged as it has been $1.99 for months.

E-Reader WILL work on DSLITE. I bought one for 4 bucks not to long ago and it seems to work just fine on the lite. Because the reg. gba carts stick out the ereader will work because there is nothing to get in the way of the gba plug in extention port or whatever.

I have never tried an e-reader on a gba before so I don't know what the graphics are usually like, however, on the dsl it seems to have some distortion or something. I really don't know how to explain it. The games are playable and that's really all I care about....

I haven't opened my Mario Party-e yet, but any of the donkey kong titles are good, mario bros, or baseball. My brother really likes golf-e but I can't get into it.

hope this helps.

Yes, you can control all 4 one at a time.

Luigi's Mansion - 8

Checked that donky konga 2 game only and the price wasn't coming up so she went with the 18 sticker price? What is the actual price of this game?

Also, keep an eye on Indigo prophecy and getting up for ps2. These both have clearance tags, but their still high in price.

Your behavior caught the attention of our sales manager who informed me to manually go through the entire inventory of games, and ensure that any item below a certain price point, would be adjusted back to the original full price.

I was so upset with you because you bought several things that I was planning on purchasing for my children after the store closed.

I hope you are happy. The entire department has been warned by our sales manager to keep an eye out for you, and direct any questions you may have directly to his attention.
OK, I was in the middle of a meeting when I read and responded to this post the first time. Now I have some time to read it more carefully and think about it. I'm willing to cut the guy some slack because I think someone truly did treat him badly (just that it wasn't me!). Though he should have read my post more carefully (and particularly the follow ups where I said I talked to him the next day and he told me about the theft issue) and I'm sure he would have realized it wasn't me.

For one, thing, I don't doubt that this is the guy who worked at that Kmart - because I mentioned the location and the guy who helped me was named Peter.

HOWEVER, he is clearly not describing me or my interaction with him. So that leads to 2 possible conclusions:

1) He was upset about what I wrote and wanted to get back at me for some reason. This is pretty lame, but I don't think this is the more likely scenario anyway. I said nothing that bad about him (others have said much more harsh things about their Kmart employees - I was just venting about all the old clearance games being "regular price", but it was no big deal as I was able to get several other games anyway). However, I could understand someone being upset about being talked about in an Internet forum (though I never mentioned his name or described him in any way).

2) The more likely explanation is that he mistook me for someone else. I'll go through it point-by-point:

When I read this in my meeting I thought he was calling CAG a "shyte" web site, but just now I realized he said he got the CAG site from me. OK, this is really all the proof I need that it wasn't me he was talking about. I ALWAYS follow the first rule of CAG - "DON'T fuckING TALK ABOUT CAG". I most certainly, 100%, did not give out the CAG web site to him or any other retail store employee! However, I did have a printed list (plain text, with no web site address on it by the way). He said someone earlier had the "same list" as me.

I know I can't prove that I wasn't rude, but I think I've been around this site long enough for people to trust me on that (and by the way, thanks to all the CAG's so far, who, with one exception, have stood up for me). I walked into the Electronics section, saw all the games loose in the back, pulled out my list and carefully started looking through them. Not one minute later, after I had taken maybe 5 games up to the register to have them price checked, Peter showed up and watched me look through the games. He had the hand scanner and was very helpful to me in price checking games. It all went very well and was friendly (though I was mostly just looking through games). The only frustration for me was finding all the games I knew were old clearance games and having him say "Regular price" to all of them, but fair enough...

When I got to the PS2 games which were piled in 2 large totes, he said "I'd appreciate it if you didn't mess up the order as we have to restack them later". I respected his wishes and didn't dig through the totes. I looked through the top layer (and noticed that they were no longer in order by the way ) and grabbed a few there. Granted, I *really* wanted to look through the rest as I'm sure there were some goodies there, but I held off because he asked me. This would be the opposite of rude by the way. Now, given that the games were pretty mixed up, maybe the guy earlier who WAS rude to him did mix them all up. In fact, his asking me not too (before I even started) seems to be more proof of that.

OK, about the security/erratic behavior thing - like I said, I had just gone straight back to the electronics section (with my mother who was visiting me on my business trip by the way) and was looking through the games for no more than a minute or two before he showed up - note that he works in the Electronics section, so it's not like he got called from some other part of the store - he was there just in a different part when I first walked in. So, again, this must have been the other guy.

Also, when I went back the NEXT day he happily and helpfully sold me a few more games that I saw in the new case. In fact, at that time, he told me the store was having a big theft problem with the loose games (which at that point had all been removed). So I hardly think I was the same person that security alerted him about .
OK, another indication this wasn't me - what's with needing to say you were the "foreign gentleman"? I'm thinking the other guy must have made some comment. I'm WAY too PC to even have considered that as some sort of issue . Really, if you knew me you'd find that hilarious. Anyway, I don't know about the other guy but I did start looking through the games - after all, they are there for sale, right? I didn't want to bother anyone for help (what, you would have pulled all the games on my list for me?). I was just trying to find things to scan as I checked out. You were helpful in hand scanning things for me and that allowed me to go through them much faster as my mother wanted to get out of there (she just doesn't get my CAG ways) and have dinner :D. I don't think I was playing games to get cheaper prices - I handed you a few games I knew were full-priced because I was trying to see if YOU, in fact, were playing games with me about the old clearance games that had been pulled from the system (the ones you kept saying "regular price" for). At nearly every other Kmart I've been too they recognize these are junky old clearance games that they need to get rid of and either look up the old price or just price them like the others ($2 or $3). And we've heard stories about other Kmart employees telling people they can't sell those games and then keeping them for themselves. Now, it appears, that maybe the behavior of the guy before me led you to change the policy here - that's fine, but you have to understand that every Kmart treats them a little differently so I had to figure out what was up.
Your behavior caught the attention of our sales manager who informed me to manually go through the entire inventory of games, and ensure that any item below a certain price point, would be adjusted back to the original full price.
Again, I did nothing but walk back there and start looking through the games I assumed were available for sale. Every game that I gave you that scanned out of the system you said was "regular price" - thus I think this edict from your manager had already occured - thus, again, it was not me who prompted this.
I was so upset with you because you bought several things that I was planning on purchasing for my children after the store closed.
Now THIS is the part where you blow it. Up to this point I could understand it was simply a case of mistaken identity and cut you some slack. But like I said in a previous post you told me you didn't know/care anything about the games and had given away a PS2 you got as a gift. So I think you just threw this part in to make what happened seem even worse. Maybe the first guy was a total dick, I don't know - but this part has nothing to do with any of it.

Besides, both of us (the rude guy and me) left plenty of cheap games. As you started hauling them in the back for the remodeling (the next day the whole empty case had been removed so they were definitely in the middle of active remodeling) you HAD PLENTY OF OPPORTUNITY TO PICK UP SEVERAL CHEAP GAMES. I know for one I left the copy of Ratchet & Clank Going Commando which YOU scanned for me and told me it was $4. There were MANY others still there and I didn't even get a chance to look through most of the PS2 stuff - who knows what's in there!? Plus there were the 5-8 or so games that are so old they are out of the system - you told me they need to be marked up to full price OR DESTROYED. Presumably, as an employee there, you could snag these for free, or at least for the $2 they should be priced at. Go for it and have fun!

Now it is possible, too, that the other guy got the REALLY good games - perhaps for DS or GBA (I don't know, maybe your kids have the handhelds and you weren't making that part up). I didn't find much for those systems so maybe the other guy got the good ones. And to be honset, most of the stuff I found was pretty crappy - some for me and MY kids, but most for EB trade-in which I fully admitted to you. But like others have said, these drops have been in the system for over a week - why did you have to wait until after closing on Tuesday of this week to get them?
I hope you are happy. The entire department has been warned by our sales manager to keep an eye out for you, and direct any questions you may have directly to his attention.
AGAIN, I went in the next day and you sold me a couple more games. I was not referred to any other person for my questions . So, quite clearly, THIS WAS NOT ME!

Also note that when I went back in the second day you told me about other Kmarts in the area I should visit to look for games - now unless you really dislike the people who work at those stores, I think that is like the 10th piece of evidence that you had me mixed up with someone else!

----------------

Whew! Sorry for the endless post, it really shouldn't matter to me what a Kmart employee (or anyone really) thinks of me, but I want to clear my name for the rest of CAG. Of course, I think it is pretty natural to be sure people don't mix me up with an "erratic/rude" person who needs to be monitored by security.

HOWEVER, the first line of Peter's post brings up an interesting topic - JUST WHO IS THE RUDE CAG who goes in the store and bullies the employee (though I am still suspect as to how rude the guy really was as Peter hurt his credibility with the part about his poor kids getting no cheap games ;)) and then, to top it all off, tells him about CAG? Huh, just who is that?
*sigh*
I think there's people that probably would of played those games. Now they have to go to Gamerush. =p
This got kind of lost in all the other fuss but I just wanted to respond a bit here. I know that you (and many others on CAG) are really down on the whole buying to trade-in thing. But I think of it as just another way to be a CAG - I can take 3 cheap games that no one would seem to want (as they have been on clearance for quite a while) and trade them to EB getting $15-$20 in credit. With that I can buy something that just dropped to $20 - say Sonic Riders, or Shadow of Colossus, or whatever. Wow - just got a great new game THAT I WANT TO PLAY for $6-$8 or so!

Besides, you can see how this Kmart I went to will operate - in a few weeks when these games go out of the system, they will mark them back up to $19.99 (or worse). OK, what CAG is buying Enter the Matrix or Simpsons Road Rage for $20?

Most of the games I got you'd have a hard time giving away. In general the trade-in fodder games are not ones highly desired by other CAG's. Some good example from the CC sale are Driver Parallel Lines and Marc Ecko - I bought several of these to build up GR credit. Guess what, they are STILL available at my CC or $8.96 .

eau - just noticed your post above - you can have one of my Enter the Matrix (which is one game I assumed no one would want) for $5 (a loss after packing/shipping). I was able to snag 2 when I went back to that store yesterday.

EDIT - MightySlacker's point (below) is excellent too, just skip my post and read his

I do like the WALL OF TEXT~! attack, but here's something more concise:

If there were people that wanted to play these $2 games, and didnt want to play them when they were $6, they really didnt want to play them that badly now did they?

Not that I disagree since I've bought a ton of $2 games to build up Gamestop credit - but I'd say part of the reason that alot of these games make it to $2 is because K-mart is the most unorganized store I've ever been to and unless you were a CAG you wouldn't have known there was ever a price drop in the first place. It's a rare thing if they update their price stickers. Hell, a few of the games i bought were marked at 394.99?

I agree there. Thanks to this site and the help of everyone, I and the rest of us know what to look for. I picked up the Eyetoy w/ Antigrav and the box was listed at $49.99 and it rank up as $5.

Is anyone looking for Mario Party 6 or an EyeToy? I picked up both today and am willing to trade them. Let me know.

You didn't need to change that quoted 394.99 to 39.99, i really meant 394.99

Picked up Pikmin 2 for $10 and Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour for $8. Feel the Magic rang up as $15, so I left it. This was in Tulsa, OK.

It's out of the system now, the last selling price was $3
How much is Metroid Zero Mission ringing up for now?
According to my *favorite* Kmart, "Regular Price". So that must mean it is out of the system (ie, scanning as "Price Required") - so $2 or $3 (as Yoshi pointed out) if you can find a clerk who will give it to you for that price .

I think I can actually be helpful here(for a change LOL). A friend of mine who I talk to from the Midwest(isn't the net great) works for Kmart and told me how to look up the last clearance price on the pricing gun.

She told me the proper procedure is to hit the Item Maintenance button, followed by tapping 1, then 2, then 1 again and scanning the item.

Now, I can see where the 'typical' Kmart employee may think this a hassle or that a CAGer may end up having to tell the clerk they WORK at another Kmart and their store was doing a clearance on these games a while ago.

Thing is, I think I tried this to get one of the older clearance titles but ended up slipping up and saying it was a FRIEND who worked at Kmart who said they were on clearance later. I hate lying, almost always get caught. LOL

Anyway, to recap: with the pricing gun, the clerk would have to hit:

1. Item Maintenance Button
2. the following sequence of number buttons 1,2,then 1 again
3. Scan the items to get the last clearance price.

Oh and before I go, what is this 'rules of CAG' I hear of??

Sorry, it was just a lame reference to Fight Club. It has been made many times before on CAG.

Here's the full original quote (from IMDB):

"The first rule of Fight Club is - you do not talk about Fight Club. The second rule of Fight Club is - you DO NOT talk about Fight Club."

Of course there is no such rule for CAG except as a rule of etiquette. Generally it is not a good idea to tell retailers about CAG (and, in particular, that you found about a specific glitch or clearance sale because of CAG). I think what happened on this thread is a perfect example of why not to do that. Now, I still want to know which lurking CAGer did that! I guess we're not going to find out.
