Where can I find an Xbox in like new/new condition or a good Xbox DVD drive?

The last batch was manufactured around March 2005. Be careful though, most of the 2005 batch are Hitachi drives, which were the worst of the Xbox disc drives.

Thomsons were the worst ones, and were produced at the beginning of the xbox lifetime.

I second this. I had to replace my Thomson drive a few years after buying mine.

I also replaced my launch model with a Samsung. Games that used to not work now work perfectly.
