Oscar Thread

Wow, that was a very fine speech. Congratulations Mr. Foxx.

I really wish Ray would get in at the library already so I can see it.
You would have to be completely heartless if his acceptance speech didn't tighten your throat a little bit.
Seriously, it was really something, doubt it will be topped tonight.

3:12...I don't ever remember seeing a show so short. It wasn't that exciting but that's fine since it was about an hour shorter. Now the fun really begins since they get to go to all the parties.

Rock was a decent host but the best Oscar show award host has to be Steve Martin hands down. The worst was Whoopi Goldberg.
Best director goes to...Clint Eastwood.

He's deserving but I was really pulling for Martin Scorsese.
I was hoping for Scorsese also. Eastwood is an excellent director but Scorsese always gets overlooked IMO. I also think that Dicaprio should have one for Best Actor. Foxx and him were both good in their respected movies but I felt that Dicaprio was the better man and the better actor. Jamie Foxx acted superbly in Ray, but in the end I felt that he tried to sway the Oscars too much by playing the race card too much.

Oh and Rock was an alright host but the best that I have ever seen was Steve Martin.

Yeah, Steve Martin was great...:D

million dollar baby SPOILERS DONT LOOK MEGA SPOILERS was well directed and well acted but come on, hillary swank was not realistically cast in that role. She was throwing one bomb specials/saturday night specials and knocking out girls that were fifty pound heavier than her in the film.

This was totally unrealistic, where was she getting all this power? swank is as thin as a twig and it is not realistic to knock out women who were twice her size!

and as for some whelterweight women getting a million dollar purse to fight over, that just doesnt sound realistic, do the women's fights even get shown on HBO/Showtime/Pay Per View? that is where all the money would be coming from. And i dont think (i dont follow womens boxing) that even Leila Ali fights for that kind of money, and she is hands down the biggest women's boxing draw.

Best picture of the year my ass.

wait for video everyone, do NOT spend $12 to watch this movie whatever you do!
