One of my professors once told me going into marketing/PR/Media was the worst idea ever because it's the first thing to get slashed when budgets get cut.

Turns out he was right
YF360G.com?
Yep. I have a lot of credit, so I went ahead and ordered it. I want SFIV to come up so I can grab it then sell it.

Since I know you're up in this SneakyP, if I did actually try to learn C# this semester, put some damn good effort into actually learning it, not just following tutorials and leaving it at that, you think it'd improve my chances at my secret goal or do companies just want compsci/digip/fulls people?

And would 4 months be enough time to get a decent grasp of it?

Hey Joe, do those dudes in the villain nomination thread legit hate you or are they just your cod 4 buddies trying to get you on the ballot?

Companies want people that know what they're doing, DigiPen and all just have reputations for producing that type of people. C# is incredibly easy to learn, even easier if you already know some programming, and tolls programming is still a pretty high demand job, because most people want to code on the game, not tools.
I always thought the "Cag villian" thing was lame as hell. Moreso than the cag awards in general.
You're lame as hell!!!

:whistle2:s

I'd consider SFIV for myself. Or potentially RE5... but I'm not sure either are games I'd want to play over Live. Maybe the points card would be the better idea.
Alright, what software do I need and what are some good resources?

Imma do this.
Visual Studio Express Edition (unless you can get the real thing), and just google for tutorials, best possible resource for C#.

Sometimes I wonder. Always blaming me for a bad match...especially when I'm on the top of the lobby leaderboards.

All In fun...I hope.

What's that from, Mox?

Good luck mang.

:whistle2:?

That was...um...interesting.
Settle down, have a coke, and relax.

And you know, deep down, you agree with me.
Ok sweet, i have the full visual studio 2008 already from that academic alliance thing.
Oh yea, that's optimal, because you could always branch to C++ then too.

I peeked over there, and saw you had the last post in the thread and thought you actually did it!
plume should be nominated for most sex'd cag of the year with his 3 1/3
Huh...you know something I don't know?

I don't want to keep it, I just figure someone would buy it for about $50 around launch. I mean, I don't need 360 games, so the whole free 360 games things isn't that important anymore.

If only Pixie wasn't flaking out on the commitment...
Huh...you know something I don't know?

The only thing worse than not getting head is the premise of being owed 3.33333 beejers a day and never getting a fraction of them delivered. :p
Wait CK are you bailing on college or something now?
He doesn't think he has many prospects with his current major, so he's expanding his skill set.

And answer my question, $$$$a. What's that image you posted above from? And does it come in higher res?
Huh...you know something I don't know?
shhh! :bomb:

i'll see you later. we'll "talk" then.

I have general experience in almost everything related to games, excluding programming, but nothing to do with its actual implementation. I can design characters/levels/concept art/marketing shit/whatever, but I don't know the specifics/limitations when directly related to a game.

I figure if I really want to make this happen, I'll have to know what the programmers need so no matter what job I get, I'll know how to provide it to them in the most convenient and helpful way. Only way I can think of learning that is by doing some programming myself. I probably won't learn enough to actually get a job as a programmer, but at least I'll know what I'm talking about.

I am in a video game design class right now, and we're going to start out pitching ideas, pick the best and then flesh those ideas out more, and then pick one and have the whole class work towards it. Everything to do with the process. Hopefully that'll help me out as well.

As it stands now, I'll have a (useless other than being able to say I have one) degree and not much else. I'm hoping to change that up a little.

I'm not doing too well in my interpersonal relationships this year...

Man, it's been forever since I've been on reddit.

Do it. :)

It makes me pretty happy to see people with well defined plans working towards them. A lot of people wouldn't do that. Again, good luck mang.
