I like to roll with the me1 squad tali and garrus. I beat it with them the first playthrough just for that reason.
 
Tali and Thane all the way!

However, on insanity I use Miranda and Mordin as an Adept for singularity traps of death =)
 
while using a infiltrator i like to use wrex and zaeed

while playing as a soldier i like mordy boy and thane. replacing mordy with jack every once and a while.
 
From ME1 my favorite squad member is Wrex (I think that's his name. The one with the huge hump on his back). Second would be the masked girl from the races driven off their planet by the Geth.
 
Haven't played 2 yet (picking it up next week, that's why I'm entering)

BUt my favorite character from the first one was Wrex.
