John Romero has his own island with a hidden base and helicopters? That's F-ing cool. Does anyone have any more info on that?
First, seeing Fable surprised me. When I first heard it was an RPG, I paid no attention to it, as RPG's are a little 'slow' for my tastes. After hearing the recent hype, I bought it and am loving it.
But I do agree with MGS2, Enter the Matrix, etc.
I'd also like to add my 14-10
- Blinx - Not a bad game, but not the flagship title it was billed as.
- Price of Persia - Another good game, but it's a fancy Tomb Raider with repeative fighting.
- Medal of Honor: Rising Sun - I heard about how the designers were traveling all over, trying to make an accurate FPS. What the hell happened? Did they get lost in Amsterdam?
- Madden 200X- Every year this game is advertised to the moon. But it seems VERY similar to the game of last year and the year before. Hype must be making people drop $50 on a slight remix of last years leftovers.
- Doom 3 - I actually haven't played this myself, but the 7 or 8 friends that have it, claim it's not nearly as good as claimed. The main problem, they say is Doom 3 isn't a 100% balls-out shooter, but a shooter with a quest game now. Blah...
- The Sims: I don't see the fun in getting a virtual job, so I can pay the virtual rent, and take a virtual piss, when I do the same things in real life. I play games to do things I could NEVER do in life, like piloting an A-10, and walking through Vice City, killing people with a rocket launcher.
