I bought the new OXM today because it contained a demo of Jade Empire.
With all the hype over this game I couldn't help myself about getting excited over it. and I Luv RPG's

Well after playing this demo over a few times. IMO this game just isn't wat i'm looking for, It just didn't feel as epic as preview made it out to be..., or It didn't suck me into the game like other demos did, example: Lunar demo, & FF demos.

I'm going to be canceling my preorder tomo, Just hope xbox could be gettin a few of the NICE RPG's, that the PS2 have.

So what did you guyz think of this game?

Not necessarily. You can't judge the story effectively, but you typically can judge the gameplay from it. The demos I've played of FF7 and FFX and other RPGs all showed the gameplay very close to it's final representation.

However, I still am looking foward to Jade Empire (it's the only XBox game I'm buying this year). I still got mine preordered!
 
from what i understand, the demo is from a REALLY early buiild. which makes you wonder why they even put it out there. but i'm still getting the game.
 
I was interested, but not sold on the hype before the demo. After playing the demo, I went and preordered the Limited Edition the next day. I like action RPGs like this and Kingdom Hearts.
 
After getting torched by Fable I learned you can't judge a RPG by the previews and demos put out. I'd rather wait to see the word of mouth it gets when it is released.

You're probably thinking of OXM, the magazine that comes with the demo. They gave it a 9.4.

XBM gives everything a 9+ practically. Seriously, I can't stand that magazine. Even the demos recently have begun to suck.

I'll take GI or EGM over it anyday.

I have yet to play it, but I'm going over to my friend's house soon and I'll probably play it over there. Opinions will be posted very possibly tommorow.
 
I actually enjoyed the demo. I think its intention is to show how different fighting styles can be used during battle. I used the mixed martial artist/magic guy. The Wolverine claws were pretty sweet.
 
I played the demo today, I was really looking forward to the game, But now I'm debateing if I'll keep my reserve and get it for $50 on the Xbox or just wait for it to come out for $20 on the PC.
 
I loved the demo. I really like action RPGs like Kingdom Hearts, and Jade Empire looks like it might be my new favorite action RPG.
The only thing I didn't like about the demo was that it was way too short.
 
Well, I remember once there was a demo of SSX 3 in OPM and I hated it, but when I bought the game it was tons better, and the gameplay was far improved, so maybe the full game is better.
 
I was surprised by how short the demo was. I know it's a demo and all, but like 2 fights and its over? C'mon! They didn't even let us see any of the non-combat gameplay or story.
 
that demo was nothing, might as well as had not been one. They could of did something like the Skies of Acardia demo and make an exclusive town or something. All they did is take 1 random battle from the middle of the game. I'm gonna try to get this free like I did fable. It seemed fun from the demo. The combat was just right.
 
I personally did not like the demo.....control didn't seem THAT good to me honestly. I know it;s a demo.....maybe I'l pick it up cheap through retail site
 
I just played the demo last night and my first time playing it I died. I thought this game sucks and I don't what is going on. Then I played it again and got a better grasp on it. Also you should watch the video on the demo disc and they show some of the story and how the game starts out. After playing the demo, I am going to go reserve a copy of the limited edition today.
