Package lost please help

I ordered Metal Gear Acid from Amazon.com. They gave the tracking number. It was shipped by USPS. It said it was delivered on June 6 at 12:50PM. The problem is that I didnt get it. I even went upstairs to my neighbor and asked. They said they didnt get it. So what do you guys think I should do?
 
It wouldn't hurt to contact your local USPS branch. They can put you in touch with your carrier and maybe put a trace on it (no clue if that works for delivered packages)...

no one signed it. its a small package. they just left it at someone's home. USPS doesnt require to sign packages.
 
I'd check with your neighbors and see if you can find out who stole it. If the USPS delivery confirmation was used properly, you are screwed. Amazon won't believe that you didn't get the package (since they have proof it was delivered) and no mail carrier is going to steal a small Amazon box.


I think that you need to check with your neighbors, apartment complex or anyone you might have told that you were getting the game from Amazon. If you have any "foot traffic" by your door (in a complex) then you might as well forget about it. Its gone. On the plus side, stealing US mail is a serious offense, you might "scare" a neighbor who stole the game to give it back.

You can get US mail that does require a signature, but it is expensive to get registered mail or return receipt.

I live in a house not an apartment or condos. im not going around to all those houses and ask. i already went upstairs and asked. i live in a 2 family house. i get lost mail sometimes which is rare. I sometimes get mail from different street address. like a block or 2 away. i already contacted AMAZON. they sent me another one, this time through UPS which requires signature. So the problem is that i dont know which house got my game. maybe a different street address got my game. so i wont bother going to every single house. back then its always this white guy deliver mail. this time its a chinese guy. i think hes been working for like at least 5 months. if i see him im gonna ask.
 
yeah. Just ask him if he delivered a package, be really friendly. If they sent it with UPS now you should be fine because my ups guy usually rings the doorbell.

I am stunned that Amazon sent you another one, but hopefully this one get to you.

Its possible that your mail got lost, but I have moved 10 times in the last 10 years and never once had the post office lose anything. 700+ transaction on eBay and about 300 trades of games online and never once had anything lost. Once destroyed, once take 1 month to go three states, but never lost.

This is the first time out of all orders got my package lost. Letters and envelopes can get lost, that i can understand. but a package getting lost is just surprising. i know that mailman look at the address carefully especially on packages. but i dont know why this one gets lost.
 
I just got the reshipped from Amazon today. Couple of days ago I emailed USPS about the problem. They replied and told me to give them my phone number and file a complaint. So, should I file a complaint? If I do, what will they do about it? Its not like they can find my missing item. What do you guys think?
 
I'd file a complaint. It could show a pattern of problems if enough people file and there actually is a problem with your carrier. Does seem unlikely the carrier stole something like that (he probably delivers 30 Amazon boxes a day...) but it's still good to file the complaint IMO.

I'm not surprised Amazon sent you a new one. Most reputable .com retailers would do the same in this situation.
 
Your situation brings up a delivery problem I had. I ordered some golf clubs from ebay and the sender put down the correct address, but the UPS delivery guy just "randomly" decided to deliver it to some business in Philadelphia (I live in Knoxville, TN). Believe it or not I never got my package, however, I was never so happy that I got insurance.
