I ordered an item from Amazon, and it shows delivered to my apartment. However, the package is no where to be found. First time that I've had this problem with Amazon (been ordering since 2003). Who do I contact to get my item- Amazon or the post office???

I'd try Amazon, but I don't believe anyone is going to do anything for you... it was shown as delivered, so Amazon can just stick to its guns and say "Well, it was delivered, too bad".

I think only insurance would help cover theft.

I'd recommend getting a P.O Box.

Your neighbors? Your package was probably stolen, which means you're out of luck. Either have all packages held at the PO for pick-up or pay for signature confirmation.

Thanks Roufuss. I guess I can chalk it up to a lesson learned, it's only $20 down the hole... nevertheless, I just emailed Amazon to see if they will do anything. The things people do in their daily lives...

Yes, as the chaps above said in so many words, you are screwed. I'm pretty sure insurance won't cover that ---it only covers the transit; once it is at your place/mailbox, then the insurance no longer applies. Sorry but S.O.L.

And you should consider tracking down and killing talking to the punk(s) or adult(s) who stole your mail as it is a felony to do so. Order something else and install a hidden video camera? Or just pay the extra few bucks for signature confirmation so they won't leave the package unless someone signs for it.

maybe check with your apartment complex main office (if there is one). When I used to live in an apartment, they sometimes left packages at the office if no one answered the door.

I recently had a package go missing. FedEx showed it as being delivered, but I never received it. I contacted the seller (ritzcamera.com) and they refunded the purchase.

No problem... Amazon might be willing to help you since it's only $20, so yea, good call on emailing them.

Amazon sent me a replacement when the USPS lost my package. USPS won't do anything unless you have it insured, you're better off doing what you did and emailing Amazon.
