Paging Dr. Stiles...please report to the Trauma Center thread
That fucker moves fast. I'm gonna be cutting this woman's insides all over the place. Thanks for the help.
You just have to be quick in changing tools. Once you get it out, it's easy enough. You only have to worry about having trouble when you reach
the bigger ones that come after these small ones. Those go back in after you laser them. I don't know if this specific operation has it, but you'll see it later.

oooh i LOVES this game. I always say that when I come back to this thread.

I'm on X-5. Beat the game twice on easy and medium and on chapter 2 (or 3?) in hard. I keep trying that those damn X missions.. grrr..

BTW, I love this game.

I beat the game on Easy, now I play to improve my scores and also try the operations on higher levels. I also made it to level 5 of the X missions.

Wow... surprised no one is really talking about this game anymore.

Is there any reason at all to own the DS version AND the Wii version? I heard the DS version had some missions not in the Wii one, but if they are by and large the same game I think I will sell the DS one.

I just got this for Christmas, and its the second game I show non-gamers after Wii Sports. (Honestly, non gamers aren't all that impressed by Zelda.)

Halfway through Level 2, and I'm even enjoying the terrible story. Great fun.

Yeah, I agree. This was one of my launch pickups specifically because of it being impossible to pull off on any other system (DS excluded..sort of). I really want to own Wii games that are unique and brand new playing experiences. Trauma Center easily provides that. It's nice playing a videogame and getting a new sensation each time you accomplish something or acquire a new skill. It's like 1985 all over again.

I'm also interested in more opinions about whether it's worth it to have both versions.

I have both the DS and wii versions still sealed (still don't have a wii). I got the wii version for $37.49 with wish certificate, but the DS version can't be returned anymore. I don't want to ebay the ds version because I hate selling on ebay, so I guess I'm just asking to see if I should return the wii version and possibly wait to rebuy it later when it hits $19.99. But there's always the chance it will go OOP.

I played through and beat the DS version back in April. I started the Wii version yesterday and while it was familiar, the experience was different. In some ways I felt a bit separated (since on the DS its like playing extreme Operation since youre actually touching it) but overall the better graphics and larger scale pulled me in more. The intense music and that cringing 'miss' sound is ever better coming from your home theater. Switching instruments on the fly is sweet toom it just feels like a more polished version.

On the question of which version to keep or play, I'd say why not go for both. The window of time I played between the two versions make me really not remember all the missions, so I'm having a good time. It even makes me want to revisit the DS version.

Have a question about 5-9 Death Awaits All. I just can't seem to get past this one.

I get past the spider web part easily. I burn the thing's shield then I poke it with the scalpel. Repeat a few times. Then they come in with the stuff I'm supposed to inject. The auto-healing touch activates and I can't catch the bastard! Everytime I try to inject it says "miss".

Am I too slow? Or am I missing something obvious? This is the only mission I've been stuck on and it's been two days now :)

I have no problem keeping the patient alive through the whole thing. I can keep it going indefinitely (have had some 20 minute+ attempts) but I feel i'm missing something.

I got stuck on that part also

Save your healing touch until the part where it automatically activates. When it does, use it again and it'll make that thing stop and you can inject it. The first couple times I tried it, I used healing touch in the beginning and could never pass this mission.

Dump the DS version. If there's missions missing from the Wii version, they're insignificant since I can't remember anything missing from the game. And the missions are a lot more fun in the Wii version as well... and there's the extra stuff, the better graphics, better music, etc. The Wii version is the definitive version of the game... it's sorta like the difference between Resident Evil and the REmake... while there might be a couple extremely minor things you're missing, everything that is there is a hell of a lot better in the remake.

No one probably cares about my opinion, but this game is really awesome. By far one of the best Wii games out right now (well thats not saying a lot).

I loved this game too, but now I've gotten too tired of doing the same shit over and over again. I'm on level 6-?, where you have to operate on 4 patients in a row. Its just a bitch, cuz the last patient just keeps dying out of no where, even while their vitals are still active. I gave up on this game at this level.

Well, I finally cracked this game open. I got it for Christmas but still had it shrink wrapped until today. ;)

I played through to get to chapter 2, and played the Z mission (are the Z missions Wii exclusives?). The Easy mode feels like it's going to be more up my alley. I got to mid Chapter 2 on the DS version and just stopped. This I think I'll be able to get into more. And I really love the tool switching. :)

:applause: That never gets old. Oh, Trauma Center... Someday I will go back and beat the last chapter.
:applause: That never gets old. Oh, Trauma Center... My DS was in great danger have having its stylus put through the screen, so I stopped. ;)

Rented it from GameznFlix, and I can't stop playing. Definitely the most fun game on the Wii besides Zelda. It can get pretty damn frustrating, though.

Agreed. That's my main beef with the game. Even when you think you're out of the woods, it pulls you right back into doing the same thing over and over again.

So, I just got to the point of learning the Healing Touch last night and it seemed massively difficult to get pulled off. Am I missing something here? I'm wondering if they should've changed it from something "drawn" to an easier hand motion when it went from DS->Wii.

Probably just as easy as when I did it on DS.

Maybe you're starting from the wrong point (if that makes any difference)?

Are you talking about that mission or just using it in general? You have to pull it off a few times in that mission to pass, but in general I've found it pretty easy to pull off when it's needed.

I've found that you HAVE TO do it in five strokes, even if it turns out uber ugly, as long as you don't make an accidental motion during any of the strokes it SHOULD work

I'm sad to admit I just started playing this game again (last played around the end of November :D), finished up Chapter 2, only failed a couple operations while trying to get accustomed to the controls and procedures again.

The Z missions are a nice little addition, for story and gameplay - I'm not sure if they're meant to be played concurrently with the original chapters or done all at the end, but I've been playing them as they are unlocked, haven't had too much trouble with them yet. Managed to get one of my few "A"s on the second. Usually I'm stuck in B and C territory.

The DS version is vicious. Unless you're a god, you pretty much get C's the whole game. You're so relieved that you simply completed the operation successfully, and it says, "You suck!" to your face.

Well since I picked up New Blood at the TRU sale, I figured I should go back and beat this game. I started from the beginning again and realized why I stopped playing in the first place. I'm on the mission "an explosive patient" and the controls are so unresponsive its unreal. I just spent the whole mission trying to get the sticks out of the panel to no avail. I used the forcepts to grip them and tried every motion possible and they will not come out of the hole. I remember this is why I got pissed off and stopped playing the game before. I've never seen such bad controls... any tips for beating this??

If you mean the plugs you must reposition in the
bomb
you have to grab them with the forceps, pull the Wii-mote back toward your body quickly then hover over the correct hole you want to place the plug into and push it quickly back away from your body.

I've tried that, I've tried everything and it never works. This is such a stupid mission, guess ill just give up on this game after trying it about 10 times (each time I try , I try to pull them out atleast 20-30 times with no success). I did somehow get them out 3-4 times but when I tried moving them to a different hole it says "MISS" and it goes back to the original one.

Well somehow I got it finally. I turned it on and got it the first try. I made some progress. I am now on mission 6-3. I think I'm near the end but its starting to get hard. After I finish the story I'll probably just move on to New Blood, I don't want to pull my hair out trying to beat the X missions :whistle2:(

I didn't even know New Blood was out. And I work at a freakin' game store! I saw it on the shelf, grabbed it, and said out loud "When the hell did this come out!?"

Freakin' hollywood isn't even getting it in to rent, either.

I always sort of wanted to try out these games but never got them. Is it worth it to play this before new blood for continuity purposes?

How long (hours) of a game is it? If continuity is not an issue, should I even bother getting New Blood or just go with Second Opinion since (1) its cheaper, and (2) Its the same game (pretty much right?)

Thanks in advance for your input.

Play the first simply because it's cheaper. The second seems to be superior by all accounts, but no point in spending $50 if you don't know you'll like it.

Cool, thanks for the input guys. Whats a good price for the first one?

I'm tempted to just go buy it at TRU using my $25 GC I got from galaxy but could probably get it even cheaper. Ebay maybe?

Anybody want to sell/trade for their copy of this game? I'll trade Marvel Ult. Alliance straight up for the first TC.

Got New Blood on Saturday and just now got around to playing it. The story's fucking rediculous so far (
the first three guys are Russell Crowe (South Park RC), Jack Nicholson (by voice and maybe his asshole demeanor), and the victim of Dick Cheney's hunting session?!
). The leaderboard uploading is slow and stupid, as you have to wait at least five minutes to upload a second score, when a game like Geometry Wars Galaxies lets you upload scores as fast as you can get them up there. Other than that, it's the same gameplay and fun in the operations themselves.

Okay, so I'm back to this game 10 months after last playing it... should I keep plugging away at 6-7 or just give up?

I get through the first two patients fine, but I absolutely suck at treating triti, so I use Derek's Healing Touch in that one. Since I haven't dealt with Deftera since the beginning of the year, completely forgot how to deal with them and the extraneous stuff (tumors and the like). By the time I can drain the pairs a couple times, there are a bunch of tumors and other things that clog up my view, and then something crazy happens and I lose, three times in a row. Nothing more fun than replaying the first two patients just to lose again.

I hate being so close to the end and getting utterly frustrated.
